104. I AM THE SEED OF JOSEPH, EVEN JOSEPH'S SON

"Now to Abraham and his seed were the promises made. He saith not, And to seeds, as of many; but as of one, And to thy seed, which is Christ." ~ Galatians 3:16

Now when Jacob blessed primarily Ephraim as assisted by Manasseh, he placed the full covenant blessings of Israel upon the 'lads', Ephraim and Manasseh, the sons of Joseph. Those blessings included the full everlasting covenant of the priesthood with the blessings of the fathers (D&C 27:10) from Adam down through Noah to Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, Joseph and thence to Ephraim. And it included the rights of the 'firstborn', the birthright rights of the covenant, including the ancestry of the Lord Jesus Christ relative to the covenant. In his blessing Jacob so stated:

"The Angel which redeemed me from all evil, bless the lads; and let my name be named on them [Israel], and the name of my fathers Abraham and Isaac; and let them grow into a multitude in the midst of the earth." ~ Genesis 48:16

And this name and blessing was that of the covenant of the Lord which Abraham had sought in respect to the blessing of the 'seed' (Abraham 1:4). And that blessed seed being none other than the blessed promised Son and redeemer and saviour of the world. Yea, the ancestry of the Messiah came part and parcel with the Covenant of Israel.

And the Lord said: "Blessed is he through whose seed Messiah shall come; for he saith—I am Messiah, the King of Zion, the Rock of Heaven, which is broad as eternity, whoso cometh in at the gate and climbeth up by me shall never fall; wherefore, blessed are they of whom I have spoken, for they shall come forth with songs of everlasting joy." (Moses 7:53)

The question rings, 'Who Is the Seed of Joseph?' As pointed out by Paul, in the singular aspect of 'The Seed', it does but refer only to Jesus Christ the Messiah. And further as also stated by Paul, " ... if ye be Christ's, then are ye Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise." (Galatians 3:29) And ONLY if ye be Christ's can you be considered Abraham's seed of the promise. For if ye are not Christ's, then ye are NOT saved NOR exalted, for he is the truth, the light and the way and there is 'NO OTHER WAY BUT BY HIM!' Thus the fulfillment of the Covenant of Abraham is ONLY in Christ, and if the fulfillment of the Covenant and the promises thereof have been preserved by Joseph and through Ephraim in the latter-days, then Christ also must be of the rightful heir or Joseph, and of Ephraim, the rightful and legal heir of the firstborn of Israel, who is but Ephraim (See Jeremiah 31:9).

At some juncture, just as it will become well known that the King David of the Millennial Reign is Jesus Christ and that the name of David was and is one of the names of the Lord from before the foundation of the world, so also at a given point the Lord will reveal that he indeed is the promised seed of Joseph, of that covenant and righteousness which did prevail and was preserved by Joseph (D&C 27:10), even unto the ancestry of the Messiah.

Why that has been hid and concealed from the world is because of the envy and vexation of Judah toward Joseph and Ephraim and the House of Leah toward the House of Rachel. Only in considering the Messiah to be of the tribe of Judah would Judah consider to be reconcile unto him until that time when all such hatred and envy be put away, and the turth of the Messiah be known, that the 'true Messiah' is Messiah ben Joseph through his son Ephraim. And it will further came back to their understanding that King David was also so rightly of the House of Joseph despite his transgressions and selection of Judah over Israel. Thus Messiah ben David, where David is of the House of Joseph, is but one and the same as Messiah ben Joseph. And further that he does stand as the King of Zion in, of and on that land choice above all other lands, even America, the original land of Adam, and thence through the covenant and blessings of the latter-day, it is and has been given unto Joseph with Joseph's heir to rule and reign upon it.

And it will further become understood that the Law of God pre-empts all earthly bounds of mortality and this corruption. Just as the Law of the ' resurrection over comes death, so does the Law of God make the Messiah to be of the rightful and legal house of the Covenant of the Firstborn, and that being the Firstborn of Israel, whom the Lord himself stated to be Ephraim (Jeremiah 31:9). And in and of that same spirit of adoption does and will all of mankind have their right as the Seed of Abraham and of the House of Israel through that great Son of Joseph, Jesus Christ. As John the Baptist did preach, 'Even of these stones can God raise up seed unto Abraham.' So it is, regardless of when a man was born and lived and died, whether from the days of Adam, to the presence and even until the end of time', he may become a Son of Abraham, a Son of Israel, a Son of Joseph, even a Son of Christ. And this through the adoptive ordinance of rebirth in Christ unto a newness of life which does bring men back into the presence of God as all being of the House of Israel.

And then will the full meaning and understanding of just what Philip said unto Nathanael will be known to all. That is when he said that Moses and the prophets spoken of 'Jesus of Nazareth, son of Joseph', they were speaking of Joseph of Egypt who Jesus had descended from.

"Philip findeth Nathanael, and saith unto him, We have found him, of whom Moses in the law, and the prophets, did write, Jesus of Nazareth, the son of Joseph." ~ John 1:45

When Philip said 'son of Joseph' it was NOT Joseph the carpenter, husband of Mary, Jesus' current adoptive father that was being referenced, but it was a broader understanding known to many then that has been lost and striped from the Biblical record, that is was the 'son of Joseph of Egypt', the heir of the birthright and covenant, that Philip was referencing that Moses and the prophets had taught the people of. That has over time been taken out and lost to common understanding. For He Is Messiah ben Joseph, as also is David in the line of being heir of Elimelech and Mahlon, Ephrathites of Ephraimites as taught in the book of Ruth, and confirmed by the fact that Jesse was also said to be that Ephrathite of Bethehem; and which was skewed to Jewish favor by the recordkeeper in 1 Chronicles 5:1-2 as discussed more indepth in an item previously.

Thus a prediction is that this will be made plain and clear by Jesus at his Second Coming and at the time of his taking his place as that King David of the Millennium, the heir of the covenant. That covenat which was from the Fathers to Abraham and preserved through Joseph and Ephraim via David to Jesus Christ. He being that 'Samaritan' of whom he was so accused by the Jews as having been by them when they meant it to be a label of scorn upon him. But it was the truth of the glory of the birthright of Joseph and Ephraim via the blessing of Jacob upon the second son of Joseph being placed as the first son of the covenant birthright in the stead of Reuben (JST Genesis 48).
