122. The Dispensation of the Fulness of Times
"That in the dispensation of the fulness of
times he might gather together in
one all things in Christ, both which are in heaven, and which are on earth;
even in him:" ~ Ephesians 1:10
The object of the Plan of God in bring to culmination all things in the end
of times is so stated here. It defines what the cause and purpose of the
Millennial reign will be. It also identifies this last dispensation, ushered
in by the head Prophet Joseph Smith by the restoration of the fulness of the
Gospel, as the one where all the nations of the earth whoever have lived are
to be blessed by that covenant and those blessings of the Fathers, even the
very Covenant of Abraham, which was also made with Noah, Enoch and Adam; and
which was kept in force by Abraham, Isaac, Jacob and Joseph (D&C 27:10).
Often in the Jewish kept Bible the line of descent is ended with Jacob and
usurped to have then gone thence unto Judah and Jesus Christ, thus Ephraim
loses his place from the Jewish perspective. Yet that is not the case as
the latter day scriptures of the restoration reveal and as the true and legal
descent of the Messiah will come to be known. For
as it so states here in Ephesians, the whole point of that last dispensation
of which Joseph Smith, a pure Ephraimite is head, is to gather in one all
things in Christ, Christ also being of the House of Joseph and of Ephraim.
There is a certain beauty in the plan, that according to Ezekiel 37, those of
the Stick of Judah and those of the Stick of Joseph/Ephraim will come
together and be one in the Lord. That is through the mortal birth of Jesus
to Mary, Jesus is the offspring of Judah in the flesh, being of the blood of
Judah through Boaz the surrogate parent of Obed unto to the adoption of God's
Law to the dead Mahlon. And it is the shedding of this natural blood of the
flesh of Judah so also crucified by Judah, whereby the atonement was made.
And as also the adoptive seed of Mahlon as well as the adoptive seed of
Joseph the Carpenter, through that surrogate parent Joseph the Carpenter,
Jesus Christ was both the rightful heir to the Crown of David, the King of
Israel and the legal hier of the Covenant which had remained in force through
the Fathers and was so preserved through them, including Joseph (D&C 27:10)
and thence through Ephraim who is given the true name of Israel under the
hand of his grandfather Jacob, even Israel. Thus in Jesus is both Judah and
Ephraim joined into One. And of course Jesus is made One with the Father as
yet the true parent of Jesus Christ is God the Eternal Father of Spirits both
in the spirit and in the flesh, and we by our adoption unto Jesus Christ in
the Gospel and in the Church, become also they who have prevailed in the
Lord, Israel, and heirs of His Father as being Sons and Daughters of Christ,
and so Our Father of our spirits, God the Father of Spirits. Thus at the
beginning of the Millennium there will be a great conference wherein Joseph
Smith, representing Ephraim and Judah in one, passes the keys of the Kingdom
into the hands of Jesus Christ, who also stands as the Head of all Israel
by right. And at the end of the Millennium there will be another great and
grand meeting wherein Jesus Christ our Master and King will in turn present
all of his creation unto the hands of God the Father of Spirits to be
accepted of Him. All the pieces so fitted together works to the end of
bringing to pass the immortality and eternal life of man.
