Item 142
Orchestra~Ochestrator
Composer~Conductor
~ The Many and/or The One ~

Like Love and Marriage or a Horse and Carriage; the one just does not go without the other. You take the Messiah and the Atonement away from the Birthright Covenant and there just is not any point as to how much the work of the spreading the Gospel to every nation, kindred, tongue and people. The Birthright Covenant of the Firstborn was forever an essential part of the promises of the fathers that came with the Covenant of Abraham. There is no argument there.

By and in whom is the work done? Is it done by the many or is it done by the one? The Concert Orchestra sat idle until and when in walked the conductor and did stand upon him podium. He then called them to order, and with the wave of his wand they did begin play. But who was it then that perfromed? The Orchectra or the Conductor? Certainly none of them could have performed with the Music Score. So there again we ask, was it the then the Composer or the Ochestrator who was he or she that was the cause of it all?

Such seems the question(s) concerning the fulfillment of the Covenant of Abraham. The Covenant was made between God and Man. But between Our Father Who art in Heaven and any one of us upon there earth, without the facilitators in between, what is exactly done or accomplished. Is it fulfilled merely in and of the latter-day missionaries of Ephraim and his companions who are fulfilling the Covenant of Abraham? Certainly without the Atonement of Jesus Christ this is no point to all the latter-day running around.

The 'Birthright' and all the blessing that it entailed was tied up in the covenant of Abraham, including the central primary point of it all, and that is the Birth, Life and Atonement of Jesus Christ. As the Lord God Jehovah stated to Enoch, as recorded in the record of Moses as given in the inspired translation of the Bible by Joseph Smith:

"And the Lord said: Blessed is he through whose seed Messiah shall come; for he saith—I am Messiah, the King of Zion, the Rock of Heaven, which is broad as eternity; whoso cometh in at the gate and climbeth up by me shall never fall; wherefore, blessed are they of whom I have spoken, for they shall come forth with songs of everlasting joy." ~ Pearl of Great Price | Moses 7:53

And the promise made unto Enoch that a Messiah or Redeemer would be born to bring Salvation and Exaltation unto man, and that he would be born according to the covenant lineage of the birthright covenant blessings of the Firstborn would be born through Enoch's seed, which would be and forever was a part of the Covenant Blessing of the Patriarchal Order of that righteous linage. And that, that lineage was from Adam to Enoch, and Enoch to Noah, and Noah to Abraham. And those promises of those fathers, even that promise of the ancestory of the Messiah was preserved in Joseph as received from Jacob, as received from Isaac, as received from Abraham (D&C 27:10).

One might even attempt to get to the point by asking, "Whose Vineyard is it anyway?"

16 Now to Abraham and his seed were the promises made. He saith not, And to seeds, as of many; but as of one, And to thy seed, which is Christ. (New Testament | Galatians 3:16)

Re-Evaluation of Joseph's Blessings and Promises from the Enlarged Perspectives
~ Blessed Is He through Whose Seed Messiah Shall Come ~

In the considering whether the Blessings of the Covenant of Abraham, which covenant came down through the fathers from before the foundation of the earth through Adam to Enoch, to Noah, and to Abraham, that do include the right, responsibility and blessing of the Seed of the Messiah to come through and by the Worthy Covenant Lineage of the fathers; "Did it continue from Abraham to Isaac, to Jacob, and to Joseph? Or was the Covenat Rights and Blessings split between Judah and Joseph, so that the Messiah came by the tribe of Judah?

The very perspective of the Jewish kept Bible records do present, as stated in 1 Chronicles 5:1-2, that the genealogy is not to be reckoned after the birthright, because "Judah prevailed above his brethren, and of him came the chief ruler, but the birthright was Joseph's." Now that conclusion was made according to the Jewish scribes who combiled the records of the Bible after and during the Babylonian captivity. And that was after the Kingdom of Israel had been destroyed and carried away by the Assyrians.

Once before Joseph's brothers attempted to obtain the Birthright Covenant Blessings of the Firstborn and Joseph's right to rule Israel by ridding themselves by murdering their brother Joseph, which since Reuben ended that attempt, it was Judah who devised to sell Joseph into the slavery trade of Egypt. And for 22 years, the brothers considered Joseph was no more, and that the right of leadership would fall upon them [Judah].

And now again, the Jews have held out that since the Kingdom of Israel was no more, that Judah had prevailed above his brethren, and that therefore the ancestry or genealogy of the Messiah would fall upon Judah through the House of David, the chief ruler who had selected Judah over Israel at a previous time. The question is, does man define God and control God's Covenant unto man, or does God? Even though lost Israel was one day to return, Judah, the Jews, have taken it unto themselves that the Promised Messiah of the Covenant Birthright of the Firstborn, was now to come forth of Judah. And for the most part the believing world has accepted that conlusion, for as Traditional Christianity has determined and accepted that Jesus was a Jew of the House of David, David being descendant of Boaz by Ruth throuh Obed and then by Jesse. And thus they have the argument of blood lineage as the very basis of that claim. Who can deny that?

Yet Ruth was first the wife of the son of Elimelech who was an Ephrathite, meaning Ephraimite; those the Jewish Rabbis theorize differently. And Boaz clearly states that he is but raising up seed to the dead, meaning the dead house of Elimelech and his sons Chilion and Mahlon after that Law of Moses as set out in Deuteronomy 25:5-10. And Boaz bought back all that was the inheritence of the family of Elimelech, Chilion and Mahlon, though it had been sold, and delivered it back to the House of Elimelech to be bestowed upon Obed as now then being considered a son of the House of Elimelech and that his mother was Naomi who was not longer left without an heir, a son of Mahlon of the house of Elimelech. And this was the Law of Moses that "the name of his brother [kinsman], which is dead, that his name be not put out of Isreal. But that is what has now been done. Instead of Obed being counted as the seed of the House of Elimelech, Chilion and Mahlon, in the Jewish kept record Oben has been esteemed as being of Boaz, the surrogate kinsman, and the Law of Moses has been dishonored.

Now once before Joseph was 'rubbed out of the family of Jacob' sold unto Egypt. And yet Joseph prevailed. Now today is the tribes of Joseph found again and returned again like as was Joseph there ancestor before. Thus again the question becomes, was the blessing of the Covenant Divided between Judah and Joseph. And has the unworthy Judah prevailed over the worth son Joseph of the covenant? Or was and is the Messiah actually of Joseph, to be legally and rightfully under the very Law of Moses to be again accouted as Messiah ben Joseph / Ephraim? And as well also to include Messiah ben David in that lineal descent being partly a descendant of Jesse as well as of Ephraim, or of the house of Joseph by the virgin Mary, He being as well that Only Begotten Son of God in the flesh. That single lineal descent being from Joseph and Ephraim to Nun and Jehoshua to Elimelech and Mahlon to Obed, to Jesse to David, as Obed was and is of the House of Elimelech, having been raised up unto the dead according to the Law of Moses, which is the Law of God.

And, to this end, do in fact the blessings and promise of Jacob's blesses upon Joseph so state that the Messiah was to be of Joseph by right of that Birthright Covenant of the Firstborn, that Everlasting Covenant of the Patriarchal Order? That is, Do the blessings and promises give to Joseph actually contain the whole of the promises of the Covenant of Abraham, including the right to the ancestry of the Messiah? Beginning with Joseph's Patriarchal Blessing blessing under the hand of Jacob, "Does it include such meaning and reference that the Messiah was to come of Joseph?"

From the currently suggested LDS Scriptures to the total perspective of Messiah ben Joseph elaborated, the Blessing of Joseph are revisited. Beginning with a brief light viewing of the directions which the LDS Scriptures presents as the line of thought(s) to a step by step, verse by verse trashing of the context relative to Messiah ben Joseph will be attempted. The vastly enlarged meaning and 'enlighting' expanse of the Messiah ben Joseph perspective ought to be quite appealingly considered at this juncture as to the openning up of added and in depth meanings and 'revelations' which such a postions does unveil.

V24.thence: Currently the LDS reference generally follows seems to allow for the concept of the reference just being made to Jacob even though it is Joseph's blessing. The Jews highly reject that it is in reference to Joseph being the ancestor of Jesus as well. And traditional Christianity follows suit, though there are some who have ventured to write and suppose the Joseph was the ancestor to Jesus and that the 'birthright blessings' were NOT DIVIDED between Joseph and Judah, which seems to the the counter point. All who so venture are totally ignored by the 'mainstream' of the dogma.
V25.Almighty: & womb: With Joseph being taking out of being ancestor to Jesus, Almighty God breasts and womb have seeming out of place refences not to Joseph as being 'power' and 'birth control?' If Joseph's ancentry is considered the condescension of Almighty God via Mary comes readily to mind.

"¶Joseph is a fruitful bough, even a fruitful bough by a well; whose branches run over the wall: The archers have sorely grieved him, and shot at him, and hated him: But his bow abode in strength, and the arms of his hands were made strong by the hands of the mighty God of Jacob; (from thence is the shepherd, the stone of Israel:) Even by the God of thy father, who shall help thee; and by the Almighty, who shall bless thee with blessings of heaven above, blessings of the deep that lieth under, blessings of the breasts, and of the womb: The blessings of thy father have prevailed above the blessings of my progenitors unto the utmost bound of the everlasting hills: they shall be on the head of Joseph, and on the crown of the head of him that was separate from his brethren." Genesis 49:22-26

Joseph's patriarchal blessing is one continuous run on sentence, marked as a paragraph. Of course, this immediately presents to mind that the main subject or topic of the entire sentence is but a continous reflection back to what immediately apply to Joseph of Egypt including from thence is the Shepherd, the Rock, Jesus Christ of Israel. Now the Hebrew original would not have such a 'sentence' and 'paragraph' structure. But then neither is there any scriptural versification either. Yet, if taken as being a run-on sentence, relating everything to Joseph, as it is Joseph's blessing—IS IT NOT— does seem to make a great deal of sense.

Certainly no one should be ablt to doubt that Joseph was and is one of the very primary 'boughs' of the tree of the House of Israel. The Kingdom of Israel is well set out as being that made up of ten or ten and a half [101/2], all but Judah and half of the tribe of Benjamin. It would be supposed as being that portion of Benjamin who also alligned with Saul. Thus it seems to be well set that there are but two main boughs of the tree that have come out of the 'trunk' or 'roots' of the tree, Joseph/Ephraim all the house of Israel, his companions. And of Judah it may be said that it is of Judah and partly from Benjamin and various remnants of the tribes and their companions.

And thus when it is spoken of Joseph being a fruitful bough by a well, that well of waters becomes the seas and oceans that make up the 'wall' that divides the lands. Certainly there is evidence that the 'branches' of Joseph have run over the wall: 1) Lehi and his parting of families of both Manasseh [Lehi] and Ephraim [Ishmael]. And under this text's presumption, Mulek is also that of the tribe of Ephraim, being that Obed was legally and lawfully the heir and son of Mahlon and the house of Elimelech, Ephrathites/Ephraimites, as it the whole of the House of David as well. Then there are the various scattered branches which have variously been 'broken off' and have ran over the wall from the countries of Europe in he colonial and migratory populating of the Americas of the centuries, which continues today. This does include Joseph Smith and the various membership founders of the LDS Church and its eventrual membership, which is still primarily of Ephraim even today.

Now, there will follow a verse by verse, point by point, analysis of Joseph blessing in relationship to his life, his Patriarchal birthright of the Firstborn postion of the Everlasting Covenant, and it considered significant points thereof, including the ancestry to the promised Messiah, which the birthright of the Covenant of Abraham which was inherited by Joseph, did contain.

22 ¶Joseph is a fruitful bough, even a fruitful bough by a well; whose branches run over the wall:

Joseph of Egypt's posterity were scattered for the most part, both those that resided in the north with Israel and in the south with Judah. Scattered to the north was that of Isreal, and scattered to the east was that of Judah. And some, such as Lehi, Ishmael and Mulek where scattered to the west across the ocean immediatley in conjunction with the destruction of Jerusalem. Eventual those still with Judah would return to Jerusalem. Those scattered or led to the Americas would remain there, as indeed it was the land of promise of Joseph. And then many of those scattered to the north would make there way to run over the ocean to the Americas eventually as well. But not all, not all were scattered over the 'wall' as many also remained in Europe, of Jerusalem and of he north countries as well.
~ THEY ARE COMING TO AMERICA ~

23 The archers have sorely grieved him, and shot at him, and hated him:

Archers Hurt Him

To the casual reader of the scriptures it may not readily come to mind who the 'archers' are. One must understanding of the life of Joseph. And one of the keys here is that they 'hated him.' Joseph's brothers would be the first and primary 'arches' whose 'arrows' Joseph would have to survive. They hated him and blotted his death. It was Reuben who saved Joseph's life. Evidence suggests that Jacob had given Reuben the responsibility to look out for Joseph, it was expected and Reuben did his job. But when it came for Reuben's turn to watch the flocks, Joseph's enemy came at him again with a plan. If he could not kill Joseph without crossing Reuben, then Judah would sell the plan to selling Joseph into slavery, which was looked to be a worst than death by many. In Egypt, Joseph was sold to the house of Potipher. He did well and was made ruler of the house, but Joseph's next enemy became Potipher's wife. And she shot at him, but he would not and thus she shot him down wit lies and Joseph ended up in prison. But again Joseph's strength raised him to the top a he became a master over the prisoners. And life's course continues. There are those who would shot you down, and at times you have no defense, but through personal strength, one can rise above life's archers.

24 But his bow abode in strength, and the arms of his hands were made strong by the hands of the mighty God of Jacob; (from thence is the shepherd, the stone of Israel:)

Joseph's bow abode in strength. His character and his strong arms and hands made strong by the hands of the might God of Jacob did overcome what life's archers and he won the prize, the Patriarchal Birthright of the Firstborn, the Everlasting Covenant of Abraham with all of its rights and responsibilities, not one divided from him, but all to come of him. Even unto the fact that from thence is the shepherd, the stone of Israel, even Jesus Christ. By and through the strength of Joseph's endurance and resilentence, Joseph had prevailed to receive the Birthright of the Firstborn and from and through thence is the shepherd, the stone of Israel.

(from thence is the shepherd, the stone of Israel:)

This was Joseph's blessing, given to Joseph by Jacob, and it was ALL Joseph's, his future blessings that would come through him. It contained the whole Birthright Covenant Blessing of the Firstborn of the Patriarchal Order of God. The central promised blessing of the birthright covenant of the Fristborn was the blessing to be ancestor to 'The Seed,' as in 'one seed,' even Jesus Christ. That is what Abraham sought after and received. Abraham obtained it, it was next given to Isaac as Abraham's covenant son. From Isaac it came upon Jacob by right of being the worthy son. And from Jacob it came to Joseph. The wicked action of Reuben, and even all of Joseph's elder brothers, disqualified them. And from Joseph through Ephraim it was and without that blessed Firstborn Birthright, there is no Covenant.

Jacob would not have married Leah except for one of the firey darts of the archer Laban caught Jacob unaware. Jacob had covenanted and performed the agreement to marry Rachel. But Laban, seeking his own interests and taking advantage of Jacob in the process devised to take advantage of Jacob for antoher 7 years of free labor. Though Reuben was then the first born son and heir by that distinction, he would fail in his worthiness. And in fact all Joseph's older brothers had or would fail in their worthiness. Simeon and Levi were murderous sons. Judah was no better and he married out of the covenant. And in the final analysis, all of Joseph's brothers hated him, and nine of the were willing to murder him. They were only stopped by Reuben's set reponsibility to look after the lad.

And thus it was by the right of being worthy that Joseph was confirmed by God that he was the rightful heir of the fulness of the birthright blessing of the Firstborn. The Firstborn being a duelistic distinction of referencing the oldest worthy son, but also it referenced what order it was that one had received, and that was after the order of the Firstborn Son of God. And that highest and prime right was to be the ancestor of the covenant of the Messiah to come. Is he of Jacob? Certainly, and of Adam-Noah, and Noah-Abraham, and Abraham-Jacob, and of Jacob-Joseph and Ephraim! And Obed was legally and by the Law of God raised up unto Mahlon and Elimelech, Ephrathites of Ephraim aided by the surrogate parentage of Boaz.

25 Even by the God of thy father, who shall help thee; and by the Almighty, who shall bless thee with blessings of heaven above, blessings of the deep that lieth under, blessings of the breasts, and of the womb:

The Seed of Woman

Now it is only with the proper understanding of the birthright blessing and its promises that verse 25 even makes any sense. 'Even by God thy father, who shall help thee; and by the Almight, who shall bless thee with blessings of heaven above, blessings of the deep that lieth under. Now these blessings were the very blessing and promies of the birthright covenant of the Firstborn. They were the blessing of the Covenant of Abraham, all of them inclusive, none divided from the list. Joseph was the reigning Patriachal High Priest of the Patriarchal Order, son of the birthright of the covenant of the Firstborn. The next verse would further confirm that. But before that is reviewed we have not mentioned here the central statements that lack rythme and reason without the inclusion of the one central birthright blessing, that blessed in he that is the ancestory of the Messiah, The Promised Seed of the Promises of the Patriarchal Birthright. Even the blessing of the breats and of the womb that would bear the Son of God in the flesh, and to be her ancestor, the ancestor of the Lord Jesus Christ. And that was Joseph's blessing as part of the Covenant Birthright of Abraham.

The central covenant of Our Father in Heaven with His children was that a Savior would be provided, to come to earth as the seed of woman though Son of God (Gen. 3:15). It was for this very central promise of the Everlasting Covenant that father Abraham sought for to received "of God unto the fathers concerning the seed (Abr. 1:4)."

26 The blessings of thy father have prevailed above the blessings of my progenitors unto the utmost bound of the everlasting hills: they shall be on the head of Joseph, and on the crown of the head of him that was separate from his brethren.

Here is confirmation of the Patriarchal Covenant Birthright Blessing of the Firstborn. Joseph was the receipant of the whole of the Everlasting Covenant and more. The blessing of thy father have prevailed above the blessings of my progenitors. Joseph's progenitors, Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, had recieved same blessing of the whole coveannt, which inclued the promised land of Canaan. Joseph receive the Covenant and also even unto the bound of the everlasting hills, the Americas as his promised land.THEY SHALL BE ON THE HEAD OF JOSEPH, on the crown of the head of him that was separated from his brothers. Joseph was not only graphically separated from his brothers being in Egypt, but due to his brother's loss of the covenant due to their wickedness, Joseph would be separated from his brothers in land inheritance as well. His being to the utmost bound of the ever lasting hills of America, the original lands of Adam.

As Jacob had state of Joseph, he had prevailed above his brethren, even after their plan to shot him down and prevail over him either in his death by murder or by that which is worst that death, a life as a man without freedom, a slave unto Egypt. But Joseph prevailed. And he further prevailed unto the utmost bounds of the earth even to the ancient everlasting mountains that ran down the back of the Americas from Alaska to the southern end of South American

The First Part of the Blessing

This blessing upon Joseph was not the first bless of Jacob upon the head of Jospeh. Just prior to this blessing before the family, Jacob had spoken with Joseph and set out much concerning him and his future and his role in providing for the House of Israel, which welfare now did lay squarely upon the shoulders of Joseph as the next Great Patriarchal Head, Leader and Father of the family then and for the future. These words act as a foundational base upon which may be laid the 'next' part of the story of Joseph's blessing of responsibility.

  7. And Jacob said unto Joseph when the God of my fathers appeared unto me in Luz, in the land of Canaan; he sware unto me, that he would give unto me, and unto my seed, the land for an everlasting possession. (JST | Genesis 48:7)

Jacob tells Joseph of when God of the fathers appeared unto him at Luz which he renamed Bethel, the house of the Lord. And God made promises unto Jacob of the covenant, which included the land inheritance of the land of Canaan. Since Jacob and Joseph where both in Egypt at the time it seemed important to let Joseph know that the covenant included that land of Cannan where the children of Israel could, should and ought to return to one day as it was the land of their inheritance as an everlasting possession.

   8. Therefore, O my son, he hath blessed me in raising thee up to be a servant unto me, in saving my house from death; (JST | Genesis 48:8)

He reviews with Joseph that he has been used as a tool in the hand of the Lord, as a servant of the Lord in saving the House of Israel from death. That House of Israel was not going to be Joseph's responsibility to care for as a part of his administration as the senior presideing High Priest of the Patriarchal Order under the Patriarchal covenant of the everlasting Covenant which God had made with Jacob and which now God would expect of Joseph to continue in so looking to the needs of the House of Israel, now his people.

   9. In delivering my people, thy brethren, from famine which was sore in the land; wherefore the God of thy fathers shall bless thee, and the fruit of thy loins, that they shall be blessed above thy brethren, and above thy father's house; (JST | Genesis 48:9)

Jacob reminds Joseph that for acting as God's servant in delivering Israel's people, Joseph's brethren from the famine that was sore in the land, God would therefore bless Joseph, and the fruit of the loins of Joseph for so fulfilling his duty unto his brethren. And for this his brothers will seek to bless Joseph even above that which Jacob at the time was or was not able to so provide them with. Here we see that it is all about family that the Patriarchal Order of the Priesthood and this Priesthood responsibility is centered in.

   10. For thou hast prevailed, and thy father's house hath bowed down unto thee, even as it was shown unto thee, before thou wast sold into Egypt by the hands of thy brethren; wherefore thy brethren shall bow down unto thee, from generation to generation, unto the fruit of thy loins for ever; (JST | Genesis 48:10)

Jacob recognizes to and before Joseph that Joseph has prevailed and that in so doing that Joseph has done for their families, they will bow down unto Joseph to honor him and give thanks unto him. And even this was shown unto Joseph in his dream, so it has come to pass, even because he was sold into Egypt at the evil hands of his brothers, the Lord had turned it unto good. And Joseph's brethren will bown down unto Joseph and his family from generation to generation, and unto to that 'promised seed of the fruit of they loins, they will bow down unto him for ever.

   11. For thou shalt be a light unto my people, to deliver them in the days of their captivity, from bondage; and to bring salvation unto them, when they are altogether bowed down under sin. (JST | Genesis 48:11)

And this is because that 'thou' that is the 'seed' of thee, shall be a light unto my people Israel, and deliver them from captivity, and from bondage [this speak of Moses who will be of his seed by the adoption of Moses by the kings daughter, who they will be at that time of the House of Israel; and 'thy seed' will bring salvation unto them, shen they are altogether bowed down under sin. This speaks of Jesus Christ who is the bringer of salvation. But it will be when Israel is in a state of subjection. under sin.
And thus here both Moses and Jesus Christ are being alluded to. When the Lord later appears unto Joseph and makes his covenant with Joseph of what he will further promise to do for Israel in the latter-days, the Lord will also add that concerning the latter-days and Joseph Smith and taking the gospel to all the nations of the earth, every nation kindred tongue and people.

The Promises of Joseph Revisited

Already covered in Item 137 are the promises unto Joeph as given unto him by the Lord in JST Genesis 50:24-37 and 2 Nephi 3:4-22. Rather than to repeat all the documentation as set out there in relation to this topic as to whether the promises of Joseph did include the coming of the Messiah unto the seed of Joseph, a summary of just what is covered in those scripture references will be presented here.

Jospeh of Egypt, being the Great Last Patriarchal Father of the Birthright Covenant of the Firstborn that he was, would have been concerned as a number of the Lord's great prophet leaders have been for not only the welfare of his immediate family but for the entire span of the children of God who do come under the care of this great covenant responsibility of that Covenant of the Fathers from Adam to Enoch to Noah to Abraham, Isaac, Jacob and to Joseph. And Joseph's heart did, as did also the heart of Enoch in the book of Moses, so yern unto the blessing of all the children of God and to rise up unto that joint responsibility of "bring to pass the immortality and eternal life of man (Moses 1:39)." And thus it should be of no surprise that the Lord's promises to Joseph in response to Joseph's pleadings with the Lord that all mankind who ever had lived or would live, would be blessed in and through the Everlasting Covenant that was of the Patriarchal Order of Heaven and earth.

Thus it ought not be of any surprise and indeed it ought to be of an expectantcy to see in Joseph's promises and blessing he received from the Lord a coveing unto the fulfilling of that covenant responsibility. Thus what was to be contained in Joseph's received promises was the covenant ancestry to at least three Dispensation heads, as well as an understood ancestry to countless prophets, seers and revelators of God through the blessed seed of his loins. Those Dispensation heads would included Moses by adoption, Jesus by the rights of the Law of Moses, which is the Law of God of raising up seed to the dead by a kinsman, and of a direct discent of the latter-day Dispensation head, the Prophet and Seer Joseph Smith. Among the other prophets and seers of Joseph would come such as Elijah who restored the high priesthood keys of eternal marriage and the sealing powers of turning the hearts of the fathers and the child to each other that the earth would not be smitten with a curse and would all eventually be sealed and bound unto that Great Patriarchal Order of Heaven. Many other Bible time prophet would also be included, even a number of such that would only be found upon the plates of brass such as Zenos. The of course there would be all those who were of the Book of Mormon, who Joseph did see, from father Lehi, Nephi, Jacob to Mosiah, Benjamin, Mosiah, Alma and Alma and the all the others included Mormon and Moroni who were responsibile for the compilings of the the care of those records of the people of God and that which would come forth as the Book of Mormon.

Now that you have been told what is going to be said, such further contributing information will not be further gone into. As Joseph was that Last Great Patriarchal Father of the Patriarchal Order, the fulness of those patriarchal promises and blessing did rest in and upon him. And thus Lehi would so state "great were the covenants of the Lord which he made unto Joseph 2 Nephi 3:4." And Nephi would later concluded that Joseph of Egypt had "truly prophesied concerning all his seed" and the prophecies that had been written by Lehi concerning those prophecies of Joseph, not many were greater. And Nephi states that Joseph of Egypt had prophesied concerning "us", meaning that Joseph had written of them and their future generations as well. These Nephi said were written on the plates of brass (2 Nephi 4:2). This gives hope that perhaps the entire record written by Joseph is upon the plates of brass, which record once slipped through the hands of Joseph Smith as also contained on the papyra of the record of Abraham. And thus we must understand that the small representations of them in the Joseph Smith Translation of Genesis 50 and that of Lehi as abridged by Nephi, are but a meager representation of all that Joseph wrote and prophecied and even of that which promises Joseph had received from the Lord.

So now, further to that which we do have. In JST verse 24, Joseph states that a righteous branch would come out of his loins and to the immediate blessing of his brethern there would be a prophet [also of his 'loins' so to speak], which was later identified further as Moses. But this Moses was "not the Messiah who is called Shilo." May would come to look upon Moses as that great promises deliver and a number of scriptures have clarified that Moses was not Jesus Christ the Messiah. And Joseph stated that this prophet would deliver them (my people as Joseph considered them his peopls and his responsibility) out of Egypt in the days of their bondage (JST Gen. 50:24). Having first contrasted the righteous branch out of his lions against this prophet Moses who was not the Messiah called Shilo, we may consider to further look as to whether this righteous branch that was not so delimited as being not the Messiah, indeed was the Messiah. This it will later be seen to be who Joseph speaks as being that 'choice seer' of verses 26-28.

But first to finish off that first Dispensation Head Moses, who Joseph included as to be out of his seed. In verse 29 of the JST and 9-10 of 2 Nephi 3, further contrasts this first righteous Branch, the Messiah with Moses by stating that Jesus the 'choice seer' wold be like Moses who would also be raised up unto Joseph to deliver 'my people' [Joseph considers them his people and his responsibility], "O house of Isreal." "And Moses will I [Jehovah] raise up, to deliver thy [Joseph's] people, O house of Isreal." Which last quote was apearently a direct quote of Jehovah that was spoken by him to Joseph. Just like Moses would come to consider all of Israel 'his' people, so did Joseph consider them all as being 'his [my] people.' And the Lord would state it as such to Joseph.

It is in the second half of JST verse 29 that it is revealed just how it is that Moses become heir of Joseph and receives his right to the priesthood. A fair supposition here is that at the time of Moses, Joseph's own children did not stand worthy to be called upon by God to deliver Israel out of Egypt. And even though it seems that one of Joseph's sons had married into the house of Pharoah [Hyksos semites], he had turned from claiming Israel as his people, and turned to claim the Egyptians as his people. But as is stated in verse 29 Moses was raised up to deliver Israel and that Joseph would "know that he is of thy house [the house of Joseph]: for or because "he [Moses] shall be nursed by the king's daughter, and shal be called her son." And thus the Lord would count this 'adoption' of Moses into the house of Joseph, though he was party to an unworthy house of Joseph, so that Moses would be an heir of Joseph and have right unto the priesthood of God through the covenant that Joseph held.

One last short note before Moses is passed by. As stated, Moses must have been the only worthy heir of the priesthood lineage, he being the adopted son of the house of Joseph as explained in his generation. But by the end of the ministry of Moses there was another worthy son of Joseph of Ephraim raised up. And that was Joshua. His life may be followed in the background of Moses' account with the children of Israel, that is until that point that Moses was held back from entring into the land of promise and the mantle was ordained upon Jehoshua or Joshua, the next rightful and worthy heir of Ephraim, son of Joseph.**

A Third Branch of Joseph

Now in Lehi's presentation, which follows parallel to the JST as seen in Item 137, there have been two branches contrasted of Joseph. That of Moses the Dispensation Head of the gathering and delivering of Israel, and also that of Jesus Christ, the Messiah that is "great like unto Moses" which scriptures in all four standard works also point out that likeness between the two in the eyes of the people. But before we get to the three Messiah verses themself, in verse 25 of the JST and 5 of 2 Nephi 3, there is a thrid branch which is brought up. Because of how verse 25 presents its information there is little doubt that this third branch is not the Messiah, but due to how Lehi presents this branch, Lehi does so stipulate that this branch is "not the Messiah." This is likely due to the relative time position of the point of perspective. Lehi was set between Moses and Jesus and this third branch so Lehi would have by default known that Moses was not the Messiah, but as the other two branches were yet to come, Lehi does distinguish between the two of them which is "not the Messiah." From the Lord's perspective and also Joseph's perspective, Moses, Jesus and the 'latter-day branch are all to come at the time of Joseph. So the distinction that is made is that Moses, who will be mistaken as the Messiah or deliver named Shiloh, that Moses 'is not the Messiah name Shiloh' distinction was necessary. And the scattered latter-day broken off branch was not needed to be so stipulated in the JST version.

At any rate, this third branch of Joseph would be the scattered branch of the destrauction of Israel and the carrying away of the Kingdom of Israel. And this is the European branch that would be scattered into the Eropean 'north' countries, and would be those what would be broken off beginning with Columbus, and who would colonize the Americas, and unto whom Jesus Christ would make his Second Coming as well as restoration revealings unto. These were they of scattered Israel of the branch(es) of Joseph that would be brought by the hand of the Lord to America.

At this point what is presented has been two Dispensation heads of Joseph, Moses and Jesus by likeness unto Moses, and the foundational branch of scattered Joseph/Ephraim that would be the foundation for the restoration. And as of yet Joseph Smith has NOT been mentioned or addressed, though many quick readers would are looking primarily for Joseph Smith and not the full spectum of Joseph's posterity in fulfilling the Covenant of God through the Everlasting Covenant Birthright of the Firstborn of the Patriarachal Order would certainly completely all involve.

Now in verses 26-28 of the JST and verses 6-8 of 2 Nephi 3, will speak of Jesus Christ. The candid manner in which Jesus is being spoken of come from two considerations. First Christ will have been or will be "hid" in God from the general understanding of the general populous, and for a number of various good reasons. One reason that Joseph of Egypt would have been a bit more demure in speaking of the Messiah to come of him when speaking unto his brothers, would be to not get them all or their children all stirred up again over the concept that Jehovah, the God of Israel, was going to condescend and be born as the Only Begotten Son of God in the flesh and thus God would become as 'son' of Joseph of Egypt. Certainly this would not set very well. Many of the sons and children of Jacob would likely immediately consider that Joseph has gotten the 'big head again' and this time in the cults of the Egyptians; thinking himself God and being the father of God, Jehovah, sometime in the future. It does sound quite confusing to those without understanding. And certainly the 'Jews' would be known for persecuting and even killing any of the prophets who would come speaking of a Messiah would would be the Son of God, who was God. Even the apostate bishops of the Doctrine of the Trinty pretty much corrupted and fouled it all up as well.

In short understanding, God the Father of Spirits is our Father in Heaven in that Celestial Heaven. And he it is who we pray to in the name of Jesus Christ. Jesus Christ is the same being as Jehovah, that 'spirit' Ministering God of the Old Testament, who was selected and choses by the Father to be the Redeemer and Savior of the temporal creation. By Divine Investiture, Jehovah, the firstborn spirit son of Elohim, would be selected and empowered by Elohim to create the temporal heavens and earth by that priesthood power given him. And he would act under the direction of the Father, Elohim, in doing so. Thus all that Jehovah did temporaly create, he would also eventually also redeem by the power of the atonement, which he would put into effect as Jesus Christ. Understanding the Condescension of God as taught in the Book of Mormon is a great gift God has given us by the Book of Mormon record.

Anyway with that said, verses 26-28 JST and 6-8 2 Nephi 3, speaks candidedly about Jesus Christ (see Item 137). Jesus Christ the Messiah is that choice seer who is counted by the Laws of God as being of the loins of Joseph of Egypt of the Patriarchal Order Covenant Plan of Redemption. He will be esteemed highly by those who are of the fruit of the loins of Joseph, particulary when he appears unto them in America. Recall the Jews did not esteem him highly but rejected him and crucified him. The work that Jesus would do, the atonement, would be of great worth both in bring man unto a knowledge of God, the covenants and ordinances of God's plan, and by the commandment of the Father he would do that great work of the atoning scarifice for mankind. Here in Joseph's record, Jehovah has taken to speaking for and in behalf of the Father, as that is a significant part of his role as the God of the Old Testament, as he is to stand in the stead of the Father in all things. Thus speaking in the stead of the Father, he states that, "I will make him great in mine eyes; for he shall do my work." And, "He shall bring them to the knowledge of the covenants which I have made with thy fathers; and he shall do whatsoever work I shall command him."

It does take some depth of understanding the various roles which Jehovah has been called upon to fill. Though he has been called upon by God the Father to be our Ministering God and to stand in the stead of the Father in all such things; as Jesus Christ he is also called upon to stand as the Mediator, Advocate, and Intercessor between man and God of Heaven. Thus our Ministering God, who is also Jesus Christ, wears various hats. It is also for him to bear the fulness of the Godhead bodily, as he has been positioned by the Our Father in Heaven, Elohim, to be the one and only way by which man may come unto God. Thus in Jehovah, the Father Elohim and invested the fulness of the Father in all things except in that he is not set or acting in that single role or position he cannot stand in, and that is as being the Father of our Spirits. In all other roles of the Father, both Jehovah and Elohim may stand and Jehovah may act in those roles as he stands in the stead of the Father in all such matters.

Now thus far verses 24-29 of JST and 4-10 of 2 Nephi 3 have been covered and we HAVE NOT gotten to where Joseph Smith comes into the promises of the Lord unto Joseph of Egypt yet. Remember, Jehovah is covering the whole of the promises of the fathers through Joseph of Egypt unto mankind and not just that of Joseph Smith here. That is the quick study avenue of Joseph Smith hunters alone do take. Now in verses 30 JST and 11 of 2 Nephi 3, there are two hints. Recall that three other branches of Joseph have thus far been covered, 2 Dispensation heads, Moses and Jesus, and one variously composite branch of latter day scattered Joseph, broken off and having come to the Americas. Not verse 30 starts out 'And again' and verse 11 starts out with 'But'. Those are two 'connecting' or 'transversing' perspectives that are saying 'now further - and again' and 'beyond as but' there is another "seer will I raise up out of the fruit of thy loins" and "unto him will I give power to bring forth my word unto the seed of thy loins."

This is now speaking of Joseph Smith and the word of the Lord which he will be given to bring forth is that companion witness of Jesus Christ, that contains a fulness of the everlasting Gospel, even the Book of Mormon. And one of the major purposes of the Book of Mormon, that record provided by brother Manasseh as it were, is that it is to the convincing the people of that word of God which has already previously gone forth, the Bible record. The world and all their self pride and ego had taken to not only defining God to be what they want him to be. They have gone on to denying the very word of God, the Bible and saying that it is fiction and barrowed from Babylonian myths and legends such as the great flood of Noah as being but seasonal flood of the two rivers of the Tigerus and Euphrates. With this Second half way around the world witness of the Book of Mormon, it is proven to people of faith that such is not the case. There stands another witenss to the word of God. It supports and proves the Bible record to be an extremely accurated record of God and his works with mankind.

The bring forth of the Book of Mormon was the first great work given unto the prophet Joseph Smith. Until it was completed even the church of the restoration would not be established. The Book of Mormon is the keystone of our religion. It supports that there are two separate world records that support the word of God as presented by the Hebrew nation. And with this now said and established, it should not be very surprizing that verse 31 JST and vers 12 of 2 Nephi 3, both will speak of the stick of Joseph and the stick of Judah, but it will speak from the perspective that it was with Joseph of Egypt that is when the making of these two records was first spoken and not Ezekiel in Ezekial 37. The plates of brass record is that record that was writen in Egyptian and began by Joseph of Egypt to be kept. Why would it not only start with the 5 books of Moses, but would also have the book or record of Joseph in it?

Certainly the fuller record is upon the plates of brass. Ezekiel did not get his commandment to compile the stick of Judah from the various records until after he was taken into captivity in Babylon. And it was likely only to the diligence of Moses that the five book of Moses were intact as much as they are in the Bible. Certainly the JST displays that much has even been lost from those five book when comparing the small book of Moses with the Genesis record for just those few chapters.

At any rate, parts of the plats of brass have been represented in the Book of Mormon, such as this from Joseph's record and also such as Jacob chapter 5 of the allegory of the olive tree and various places where the Book of Momron prophets do quote from those plates of brass. Even the Isaiah chapters of Nephi are a testament as to the accuracy of the Bible text and to the fact that Isaiah was just one person an not three like some have theorized him to be.

After a verse reference to the two records' origins, verse 32 JST and 13 of 2 Nephi 3, speak to the weakness of the plowboy - day laborer Joseph Smith who God has called to be the latter-day prophet and how through him a work would be commenced unto the resoring not only the gospel but the house of Isarel. And then in 2 Nephi 3:14-16 there is a splided classical bookended chiasmus that speak all about the prophet Joseph Smith. Item 137 sets out that chiasmus and how it has been lost in today's Book of Mormon record due to the versification of the 1830 original text. And so forth about the Prophet Joseph Smith.

It is a shame on the one hand that we are not truly involved enough to do the long labor of coming to know Joseph Smith, and also on the other hand that some are so quickly to grab at Joseph Smith in places where even he is not be be properly found, that other information becomes lost and slighted in the process. But such it is.

Not that it directly relates to the topic of Messiah ben Joseph at this point, but that it makes for a more complete perspective that it is here mentioned that there is a marvelous testamony of Lehi that has been lost. Lehi testifies that just as certain that he is that Moses has already come and been, he is just as sure that Joseph Smith will come and be just as Joseph of Egypt presented him to be. That is missed.

Also missed and almost fully now found has been that the writter and the spokesman of the Book of Mormon record as spoken about in 2 Nephi 3, at two of the descendants of Lehi and not Joseph Smith and Sidney Rigdon has some once supposed. Today at least Elder McConkie had gotten us to understanding that Lehi's descendant Mormon is the writter of the Book of Mormon spoken of in 2 Nephi 3. Yet we've still not come to properly identifying Moroni as that spokesman that is spoken of, and he is the angel fling in the midst of heaven having that everlasting gospel to take to the earth, the Book of Mormon, the Book of Mormon's spokesman angel who holds the keys to the stick of Ephraim. And that is the rest of the stick of Ephraim of the plates of brass and the other records of the Nephites and so forth. Maybe when we come to giving him his due credit some other such records may be given to come forth. But we've yet to fully properly study that which we have gotten.

Will there it is. Joseph promises from the Lord, though they are not even given in their fulness, are given in enough detail in the JST 50 and 2 Nephi 3 to support that the full Covenant of Abraham was completely entrusted in Joseph of Egypt. Three Dispensation Heads, Moses, Jesus and Joseph Smith are there to be found as out of the seed of Joseph if one but searches for them. The branches of Lehi, Ishmael and Mulek are there to be found as associated as branches of Joseph upon proper study and understanding, thereby Manasseh is seen in assisting the work of restoration by providing the second witness of Jesus Christ and of the Bible to be the very scriptural foundation and keystone of that restoration. There are even any number of countless 'braches' that have been scattered and broken off from the old world that have come to the New World of the branches of Joseph to be considered in the latter-days. And in fact all the various branches of Joseph, Manasseh and Ephraim that are needed to not only restore the gospel but prepare for the Second Coming and take the world on in to the Millennial Day are there to be had and found when one comes down to appreciating the Last Great Patriarchal Father of the Patriarchal Order. Certainly the promises of the fathers have remained in Joseph, Jacob, Isaac and Abraham (D&C 27:10). And that is including hat greatest of the promises of the promised Messiah come of and out of Joseph to Save and Redeem the world.

Summary

What has been presented here is that in each of the blessing of Joseph from that spoken by Jacob to Joseph in that personal meeting with him and his two sons which Jacob stood in the stead of Reuben and Simeon as to their positions in the family of Jacob, to that family gathering of brothers where Jacob blessed each and every son according to the great Patriarch's blessing of his sons, and even the very set of promised blessings that the Lord revealed and promised Joseph in person that would fulfill the promises of the Patriarchs of the Patriarachal Order to the fulfillment of the Everlasting Covenant of Heaven to man. They are then in representation is all three instances. It is only unto our Lord Jesus Christ that men are to bow down to and worship for ever. And that is that he is the legal and rightful heir of Joseph and that righteous right of the priesthood lineage according to the order of man. From thence is the shepherd, the rock of Israel to come forth as plainly stated in Joseph's blessing. Only the shewed twisting of meaning removes it to being of the object of a prepositional phrase 'of Jacob' rather than to it rightful topic and subject of the run on sentence proper, which that it was thence from Joseph that the shepherd and rock did come. And when properly searched and set out, who can doubt that the Lord did set out before Joseph, who would have prayed for the blesses of the covevant to come unto the world through his patriarchal right, that all mankind, every nation, kindred, tongue and people; be blessed not only by the messages but also by the very fact of performance of the Messiah in making the atonement available unto God's children. And the details of how it was to be done from the delivering of Israel from Egypt to the scattering of the seed of Joseph among the nations of the earth. And then to the gathering, braking off, and bring first Lehi to prepare the Book of Mormon by the hand of Mormon and the delivering of it by Moroni to be the key stone and supporting testimony of Jesus Christ and of the Bible record. And central of all the birth of Immanuel unto Mary from womb and the breast to be born of women as also forshadowed in mother Eve. And of course the final element to be the restoration of the gospel through the latter-day prophet Joseph Smith, that by that great work to take the fulfilled message of the atonement unto all the world the all might come and be saved in and of the Lord Jesus Christ.

It is all there is sought out and understood. What Joy Joseph of Egypt must have felt, what comfort to know that it would be done on earth as it is in heaven, and that the Patriacrhal Family would be properly fitted and returned to the heavens prepared for it by God. Little is said concerning the last half of Joseph of Egypt's life. Next to nothing is spoken of Ephraim personally after he was blessed by his grandfather Jacob to be the lineage line by which it was all to come. No, it was not divided out. The baby was not cut into two portions. Jesus was the seed of Joseph, though only partly so by his mother who was of the house of David, by who the right to being King did come after the manner of the earth. Mary's father was the elder heir of the throne of David, but he had only daughter(s) of whom Mary was the mother heir, but cousin Joseph was the male next of kin, and by the adoption of Mary's first son, that right was enstilled in Jesus. And the earthly right to priesthood was also had, as Obed was raised up to the dead, that the seed of the dead and the house of Elimelech and Mahlon would NOT BE FORGOTTEN IN ISRAEL. They being from whom he right of preiesthood did come as the Ephraimite the Ephrarthite source from Joseph to Jesus of the proper patriarchal order of priesthood according to earthly right to fulfill all righteousness. And so by whatever source Jesus, who grew from a child step by step, did become anointed and ordained on earth, the right was his in righteousness from Joseph. He was Messiah ben Joseph, even Messiah ben Ephraim, also to be know as Messiah ben David. He was that line of Jesse through Ephraim of the house of Joseph.

** One might suppose that the history of the rightful priesthood lineage might well be followed by studying the life of Joshua, and follow that history. What is found there is that Joshua acted in wisdom considering that the tribes had been divided into their own lands and thus were therein to be ruled by the tribal princely elders leadership to "judge" their own people of their own tribe. That is what some 'historians' tend to call "ad hoc chieftains*, known as judges (shoftim)." Thus Joshua essential could be seen as the 'chief judge' over the land, the land itself divided into the various tribes and establishing a system of judges or tribal units of government per each of the various sections of the land. After Joshua's death the book of Judges reports a time when the new religious head is appealed to for direction, presumably to the tribal leaders and judges. But the scriptures fail to give a name of any newly mantled leader other than the chief high priest of the tabernacle, as was Moses, and presumably Joshua after him.

After a period of some apostasy, it states that the Lord no longer did rule the people centrally from the tabernalce but allowed a system of 'judges' to arise [the scribal writers has apparently subscribed to the Lord what actually occured naturally]. Then scripturally each judge of each land section is not followed but a quasi-history is followed by giving the verious highlights of some of the high and/or raised up "Judges" of the land and of the people. And thus the judges consist of various judges, likely being from such as Deborah to Sampson of different tribes as to who was looked to as being the Chief Judge or as being a significantly recognizable judge of the land to be given some special notice. There was also various prophet leaders also among the people. The actual details of the system of judges is not revealed or given in the history, but one might presume some such as was held in the Book of Mormon of the land of Zarahemla was followed, the latter being fashioned after the first presumably.

By the time of the Prophet Priest Samuel, the people had grown tired of the system of judges and it ought to be consided that being after the order of man, it was also corrupt and so were the very sons of Samuel. The people demanded to have a king installed over the land. And the Lord, though not condoning it, did consent by way of Samuel to have a king. The first of whom was of the tribe of Benjamin. A man of large stature in Saul. And then after the failure of Saul's senior years, the next king would be a son of Jesse, that Ephrathite son of Obed of the Ephrathite house of Mahlon and Elimelech if it were to be followed correctly after the order of the Law of Moses and the Law of God that Obed was raised up to be the seed of Mahlon's wife Ruth and to be of the Ephraimite house of Elimelech and Naomi as the town's people so noted him to be. Thus in that respect the rule of the kingdom was turned back to the house of Joseph, though David, Jesse, and Obed had in them the surrogate blood line of Boaz and thus of Judah by blood and eventually so determined by the serviving Jews after the scattering of Israel, presuming the Judah had [finally] prevailed over his brethren [namely Joseph] and that the blood line genealogy was from the perspective of the Jews to be recorded after that of Judah, though the birthright was Joseph's and his son Ephraim (1 Chron. 5:1-2).

* After the death of Joshua died, a king was attempted to be raised up but failed. Then a system of judges ruled with some type of chronology established to account for the passage of the years, usually associated with a Judge that raised up to lead the people against some enemy of Israel who had come in to oppress them as they had no centralized King, Kingdom or power established. That was likely one of the driving reasons that Israel demanded of Samuel, a primary priestly judge of the people to establish a king to lead Israel. Certainly later Jewish orgainization of govenment may be looked to understand the age of the judges and associte those judges as having an ultimate accountability to the religious High Priest as was the system of the sanhedrin in Jerusalem with it local division of such about the greater nation of Israel in the time of Jesus. But in truth the precise system so ordered has been lost and given over to secular historians and/or Biblical scholars who theorize upon the matter. By attempting to follow the 'oppressions' from the enemies of Israel and the rise of such leading judges to free Israel from that oppression, some such charted chronological analysis such as this well prepared one as appears here to the right may be suggestedly estabished. The LDS Dictionary provides such as follows below along with an over all Bible chronology not shown here. The attempt is to add the years together and set up a history.
                                                    Years
