Item 146
The True Tree of the Covenant
~ Christ<=====>Ephraim ~

There is the matter concerning The True Olive Tree of the Covenant, the four trees or sets thereof of the scriptures, and Christ being of Ephraim. Then there is the matter of the two olive trees as seen in vision by Zechariah and how that fits in. Also there is the matter of the fruitful bough of Joseph and his many branches. Finally there is the matter concerning the law that comes out of Zion and the word that comes out of Jerusalem. All of these together are part of the same puzzle of the Plan of God and how they fit together in the big picture thereof.

The immediate concern of this text has been the topic of Jesus Christ being of the seed of Ephraim and Joseph as Messiah ben Joseph/Ephraim. It seems that cannot be fully discussed or understood without considering how these things all fit into the over all Gospel Plan. While some of these topics could have been fitted into there own separate 'item.' It is not the purpose to run up a large 'item' count. The purpose is to present that which supports that Messiah ben David and Messiah ben Joseph/Ephraim are one and the same Messiah. It is not just these things that are of important in and of themselves, but how they do fit together in the Gospel plan in that manner in which they support the end purpose of this text, which is to establish Messiah ben Joseph/Ephraim as being the same person as Messiah, who is the one and only true Messiah. Thus this item does cover a number of topics but hopefully in a manner that comes together as a single tapestry that supports that Mesiah ben David and Messiah ben Joseph is one Messiah, even the Lord Jesus Christ.

Four Trees of Scripture

There are 4 trees of particular interest in the gospel scriptures of God. The first tree named in the scriptures is the tree of life in the Garden of Eden. The second tree is the tree of the tree of life dream of the prophet Lehi and his son Nephi. Then thrid there is what is termed the allegory of the olive tree or the tame and the wild olive trees, which for our initial concern will be address first concern the natural tree which is that of Israel, or the house thereof. And the fourth tree is that personal tree of the testimony to be grown and develop within a person spoken of by Alma as he develops it from the planted 'seed.' seed. In short all of these trees have the relationship of being a representations of the Gospel of Jesus Christ, and therefore an association with Christ himself. How that is will be discussed tree by tree as it is.

The Tree of Life of the Garden of Eden

"Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me."

"And whatsoever thing persuadeth men to do good is of me [Jesus Christ]; for good cometh of none save it be of me. I am the same that leadeth men to all good; he that will not believe my words will not believe me—that I am; and he that will not believe me will not believe the Father who sent me. For behold, I am the Father, I am the light, and the life, and the truth of the world." ~ Book of Mormon | Ether 4:12

That there was truly a place named the Garden of Eden, and it did have two significant trees identified by God. In the midst of the Garden was the Tree of Life, which God did symbolically represent to Adam as the source of Life. Why the tree was indeed a tree, the symbolism of the tree was but a representation to Adam's understanding of that which gave eteranl life. Likewise, there was a second tree, which God did symbolically represent to Adam as being the source of the knowledge of good and evil.

Every tree that bore fruit was pleasant to the sight and good for food even both the tree of life and the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. God told Adam that of every tree he could freely eat for man had his agency to do so. But God told Adam, thou shalt not eat of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die. knowledge of good and evil.

Tree of the Vision or Dream of the Tree of Life

After Lehi and Nephi had both seen the vision/dream of the Tree of Life, Laman and Lemuel were having some disputations reguarding what the symbolic meanings of the various elements of the dream were. When Nephi approached them they asked him what the meaning of the symbolic items of the dream were or did represent. The first item they asked Nephi about was the meaning of the tree which their father had seen in his dream. Nephi answered them and said, "It [the tree] was a representation of the tree of life." (1 Nephi 15:22)

Lehi's description of the tree and the fruit thereof is very enlightening:

"And it came to pass that I [Lehi] beheld a tree, whose fruit was desirable to make one happy.
"And it came to pass that I did go forth and partake of the fruit thereof; and I beheld that it was most sweet, above all that I ever before tasted. Yea, and I beheld that the fruit thereof was white, to exceed all the whiteness that I had ever seen.
"And as I partook of the fruit thereof it filled my soul with exceedingly great joy; wherefore, I began to be desirous that my family should partake of it also; for I knew that it was desirable above all other fruit."
    ~ Book of Mormon | 1 Nephi 8:10-12

From the information gained concerning the Tree of Life from the Garden of Eden, it was the Tree of Life and the fruit thereof was that which allowed men to live forever. Nephi also states that it is a representation of the Love of God (1 Nephi 11:22, 25). Further analysis of the tree yeilds such that it is the Gospel of Jesus Christ and the fruits thereof and even a prepresentation of Christ himself in that respect.

Certainly the fruits of the Gospel of Jesus Christ are those that bring the greatest Joy of Eternal Life, obatinaing the Kingdom of God, having eternal increase, eternal family and eternal marraige. Having a forgivness of sin and making of one's life pure and white without blemish. Great are the blessings of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. And great is the joy derived from the fruits thereof.

Allegory of the Tame Olive Tree as the House of Israel

In the Allegory of the Tame Olive Tree of the prophet Zenos, that is that natural olive tree take on the identity of Covenant Israel. And while the allegory in chapter 5 of Jacob where it is recited, it addresses that portion or duration of time of from after the gathering of Israel into their land of promise coming out of Egypt, and thence through apostate Israel being scattered thether and heather where the Lord will.

Yet Israel, as that select people of te Lords spans from before the foundation of the world in the preexistence when those of the spirit children of God that stood and 'fuought' against Lucifer, and were known as those who were wondered at (Zechariah 3). Through the scriptures these, the Lord's Israel, if often addressed as his piculiar people or treasure. And one can actually trace them throughout earth's history from times of the land of Adam, through the flood when only the family of Noah did remain. And so forth.

When one comes to understand this broader scope of the Lord's people, that is Israel, then Israel's identity is not just in the promised land from Jacob to their gathering and then scattering. And also then the once preceived location of the natural olive tree of Israel also will become a movable entity of the Covennt, the Gospel Covenant of Israel if you will that has traveled from the land of Adam over to and into the land of Canaan from whence the natural branches are scattere to the four corners of the earth, with Joseph's remnant in Lehi finding its way beck to the very lands of Adam again in America which are those promised land covenanted to be given unto Joseph, both North and South America.

And thus it is where it comes time to graft the natural branches of Israel back into the natural tree in the latter days, it is not back to the land of Canaan, but the latter day grafting of the natural branches back into the natural tree occur right in the central lands of Zion on the North American Continent. And how that natural tree had become transported with covenant Ephraim and Manasseh accross the ocean and is found right then in America. That is from Jacob the covenant blessings went to Joseph and then to Joseph sons, primarily Ephraim in the latter days.

In parallel, the following of the correct lineage of the birthright covenant lineage of the Patriarchal leaders and those special blessing of the Patriarchs, which included the ancestry of the Messiah, then it may be further analyized just how the ancestry of the Messiah rightly fell to Ephraim relative to the Messiah and the natural tree, the true tree of Israel of the Gospel of Christ and the covenants thereof as well.

The Tree Grown from the Seed Spoken of by Alma

And now Alma taught of the personal inner means by which man might come to know of themselves of the Word of God, that is of the testimony of Jesus Christ. Alma spoke of the experiment of taking the Word of God, the Seed thereof, and planting into yourself even if you could but hope that it was true. And he spoke that if it were a good Seed, a true seed, that it would sprout and begin to grow within yourself. It would begin to swell within yourself when it would begin to grow. And it would even srout and grow unto a tree, which tree was the Tree of life. Then he said this concern if one would not plant and norish the Seed, the Word of God within one self: :

"And thus, if ye will not nourish the word, looking forward with an eye of faith to the fruit thereof, ye can never pluck of the fruit of the tree of life.
"But if ye will nourish the word, yea, nourish the tree as it beginneth to grow, by your faith with great diligence, and with patience, looking forward to the fruit thereof, it shall take root; and behold it shall be a tree springing up unto everlasting life."
    ~ Book of Mormon | Alma 32:40-41

Thus this last tree spoken of by Alma is all that Tree of Life. And Alma has presented by what process the Tree of Life is able to be planted as a Seed and by faith and norishment it will grow unto that Tree of Life and then you will be able to partake of the fruit of that tree.

That the seed which was to be planted was the Gospel of Christ, that is Christ's mission and that which we are to do in respect to it was next spoken of by Amulek. In respect to what was to be done to plant the Seed and grow the tree of life Amulek spoke of planting the testimony of Jesus Christ within one's self thus:

" ... begin to believe in the Son of God, that he will come to redeem his people, and that he shall suffer and die to atone for their sins; and that he shall rise again from the dead, which shall bring to pass the resurrection, that all men shall stand before him, to be judged at the last and judgment day, according to their works.
"And now, my brethren, I desire that ye shall plant this word in your hearts, and as it beginneth to swell even so nourish it by your faith. And behold, it will become a tree, springing up in you unto everlasting life. And then may God grant unto you that your burdens may be light, through the joy of his Son. And even all this can ye do if ye will. Amen."
    ~ Book of Mormon | Alma 33:22-23

And thus it was Amulek that presented that the Seed was to be that of Faith in the Lord Jesus Christ and his Gospel. And it was by the way or course of norishing that faith in an by the works of faith of following the way of the Gospel of Christ, obeying and adhering to path and the way of living the by the Gospel that would grow the seed into the Tree whereby Eternal Life might come, it having grown in the testimony Jesus Christ unto the partaking of the fruit thereof of the blessings of the ordinances of the Gospel unto Eternal Life. And this is our great hope in which we may exercise our faith of active works unto the obtaining Eternal Life in and through Jesus Christ, His Gospel, which is that Tree of Life by which men do obtain Eternal Life and the joyous fruits of the Kingdom of God.

Summary of the Four Trees

Now then, though God did symbolically represent that which brings eternal life unto Adam and Eve as being an actual Tree, the fruit thereof being the source of eternal life, that representation to them was but by reason the the veil of understanding had been draw across the minds of Adam and Eve that the did not remember all the things of the preexistence. And this so that when Adam and Eve disobeyed God and did partake of the forbidden fruit, it was the act of the braking the commandment of God take gave reason to the justice of God to cause them to fall from his presence. And the fruit of the trees but gave substance to the innocent minds of Adam and Eve, who knew not of the entire plan of God, nor of the mission of Jehovah as Jesus Christ that would come to redeem men from the fall. But the fruit was given as a symbolic representation of the fruits of the accepting and partaking of the atonement of Jesus Christ, which provided for the mercy and love of God to satisfy the justice of punishing the sinner by death, even the spiritual death of failing to dwell in the presence of God.

So it is that each of these four trees spoken of in the scriptures are but various perspectives of the Tree of Life. To Adam and Eve is was the symbolic of the source of life, they not remembering that it would be by the Gospel of Jesus Christ by which it actually would come.

To Lehi and Nephi in the dream/vision of the Tree of Life, again it was that representation of the Gospel of Christ which comes by, in and through Jesus Christ and the love of God that provides the way of mercy to answer the rights of justice against wickedness.

And then in the Tree of Israel it was that true tree of the Gospel that man was to come unto and to be grafted into by the acts of faith in Christ of baptism of water and the Holy Ghost unto the obtaining of life in and through the Gospel of Christ, bearing the true and righteous good fruit, that by their fruit thereof they might be known. Israel itself being those who did and would prevail in Christ unto the obtaining of Eternal Life.

And finally in the true Tree of Life planted in oneself by the Seed of Faith in Jesus Christ and His Gospel, it was that perspective of the individual participation and effort necessary to obtain that fruit of the tree unto Eternal Life.

And thus each of the four in their own way and perspective being that of that tree of life which is unto the purpose of "bringing to pass the immortality and eternal life of man." This is the unified article of joint united devotion and faith unto which those the Godhead and coverted man in Christ and God do come together to be united in so as to be one in purpose and mind.

The Matter of Following the True Tree
The Matter of Messiah ben Joseph

Case 1

Since the beginning with Adam and his children, there has been the problem of coming unto the true source, the true tree of life, in order to find God and life in a manner to obtain Eternal Life. The first event was in the Garden of Eden when Eve followed the 'wisdom' of Lucifer's distorted lie wrapped in but a half truth. Eve had listened to and followed after the voice of Lucifer rather than the voice and commandment of God. And then Adam followed after, perhap weighing in his mind the two commandments given him by God. The first of those given was unto Adam and Eve which covered such as the marriage covenants of Adam of Eve:

"So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.
"And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth."
    ~ Old Testament | Genesis 1:27-28

"And the LORD God took the man, and put him into the garden of Eden to dress it and to keep it.
"And the LORD God commanded the man, saying, Of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat:
"But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die."
    ~ Old Testament | Genesis 2:15-17

"Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh." ~ Old Testament | Genesis 2:24

In the order of appearance, these are the commandments of God given unto man. 1) Multiply and Replenish (fill) the Earth. 2) God commanded 'You may eat of every tree BUT of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat: for in the day that you do eat thereof you will die. 3) Man shall leave his father and his mother and shall cleave unto his wife: they shall be one flesh.

It is not very often that all three direction from God are considered. After partaking of the fruit of the forbidden tree God first ask Adam if he had partaken of the forbidden fruit. Adam's answer was, "The woman whom thou gavest to be with me, she gave me of the tree, and I did eat." Perhaps within Adam's answer was the consideration of having to remain with Eve in order to maintain the keeping of two of the commands of God while yet having to brake the third. Certainly Adam as a lone man could not keep the commandment to multiply and replenish the earth any more than Eve could as a lone woman. And according to the marriage vow, man was to leave his father and his mother and cleave unto his wife. That is man was to remain with his wife. And thus Adam would have to go with Eve and could not remain in the Garden of Eden without her.

God secondly asked Eve, "What is this that thou hast done?" To this Eve truthfully confessed that she has the inticings of the serpent Lucifer. She said, "The serpent beguiled me, and I did eat." (Genesis 3:13)

Adam's answer required no further punishment than than which was attached to the death that was attached to the partaking of the fruit. Beyond that Adam had remained true in doing what he needed to do to keep the other two of the three noted commandments of God, both of which were related to the marriage covevant of man and the woman. But unto Eve, since she did listen to and follow after the inticings of Lucifer, God said unto her, "I will greatly multiply thy sorrow and thy conception; in sorrow thou shalt bring forth children; ... " God also established the order of the household of a man and a women, that is the man was to be the head of the union. (Genesis 3:16) The was the Patriarchal Order of priesthood authority.

In case one it was Eve who had first listened to a source other than God, and did according to the false source, or as it were, the false tree, Lucifer.

Case Two

The Patriarchal Order established by God on earth was after the same order that was in heaven. And it was that Order of the Priesthood by which the children of man were to be ruled by on earth. The men on earth were to commune with and follow after the commandments and word of God, and the family was to them adhere to the instructions and guidance of the father in the home. When a man was of the age of being able to hold a priesthood calling, that priesthood would come to him by the word and voice of his father by and from the power of God.

Both Cain and Abel held their own priesthood callings, yet in the Patriarchal Order of right of leadership or presidency, they were still under the authority of their father Adam who held the keys of that priesthood.

It would seem that both Cain and Abel had had direction from God as well. And they has the priesthood authority give them that they could or should offer sacrifices unto God after the proper form of performance unto God. Certain offering were to absolutely be that of an animal sacrifice in the similitude of the coming sacrifice to be made by Jehovah as Jesus Christ, the Son of God the Father in the flesh. Also, as with the sacrament today, all such sacrifice performances were to be done in the proper sincerity of the heart.

Just what was wrong with Cain's critical offering is not exactly given, though it would seem to do with Cain offering the fruit of his field, as he was a farmer, rather than the required offering of an appropriate animal offering. Yet, perhaps further it was also that Cain's heart was not true to God in the offering either, because it has been stated and implied that Cain had listen to Lucifer and was not sincere in making the sacrifice and perhaps even the type that he did.

"And Satan came among them, saying: I am also a son of God; and he commanded them, saying: Believe it not; and they believed it not, and they loved Satan more than God. And men began from that time forth to be carnal, sensual, and devilish.
    "And the Lord God called upon men by the Holy Ghost everywhere and commanded them that they should repent;
"And as many as believed in the Son, and repented of their sins, should be saved; and as many as believed not and repented not, should be damned; and the words went forth out of the mouth of God in a firm decree; wherefore they must be fulfilled."
~ Pearl of Great Price | Moses 5:13-15

" ... But behold, Cain hearkened not, saying: Who is the Lord that I should know him?" ~ Pearl of Great Price | Moses 5:16

"And Cain loved Satan more than God. And Satan commanded him, saying: Make an offering unto the Lord.
"And in process of time it came to pass that Cain brought of the fruit of the ground an offering unto the Lord."
~ Pearl of Great Price | Moses 5:18-19

Here is the inspired book of Moses it can be seen that Cain's offering unto the Lord was not after the proper order, it being by the voice of Lucifer unto Cain that it was done. So here again we have Cain follow after the false source or the false tree of truth, that is after Lucifer rather than after Jesus Christ the Lord.

The Way and Path to God

Before continuing further on this line of reasoning a few items would be well to establish. Perhaps the first item to be establish is that God the Father of Spirits has provided but One Way unto man by which he may come unto Him, and that is in, by and through his Firstborn in the spirit, Jehovah; and His Only Begotten in the flesh, Jesus Christ. There is on other way but by and through Jesus Christ, who is the same as Jehovah. Straight or strait is the gate and narrow it the way, and it is Jesus who is the life and the light of the world and beside him there is none other given.

There in come the next consideration. There is but one true Chruch, there is but one True house of Israel, there is but one true Tree of Life; if you will. The Book of Mormon states it this way, 'There are but two churches only.' There is the true Chruch of Jesus Christ, the one true Church of God; and there is the church of the devil. In other words, if it is not the true Chruch, tree or even the true covenant of Israel, then it must need be considered that it is of the Devil.

Generalized Case Three

The Patriarchal Order as established on earth was in its time and day the true order of God. It basically was that of being the true church. And the order of the Patriarchal Order was from father to son with the leading Patriarchal Father being he who held the keys or presidency of the priesthood order. That is seen in that it was Adam in his old age that called all of his children, which included a number of the then living Patriarchs that would follow Adam in that position of Chief or Head Patriarch.

Each father did have the right of leadership over his own family, but as to the priesthood government it was by the hierarchy of the leading chief patriarch. All the patriarchs that lived at the same time held the priesthood just as there are many Elders and High Priests in the Church today. But is was but one leading Prophet or Chief Patriarch. It was Adam until his death, then it was Seth. And as long as Seth lived he would be the Chief or Patriarchal President and Prophet of the Patriarchal Order. And so on down by age did the Patriarchal Presidency follow as long as the Patriarch was worthy and the leading Patriarch according to age.

This might seem to be an inefficent order but with the guiding revelation of the Holy Ghost for the communication of the truth among them, as long as each did follow after God, they would be in harmony and in honor to follow after the presiding Patriarch. Our communication technology may seem to be superior today, but what could be more superior to the power of the Holy Ghost is listened to among the Patriarchs?

That said, there did come a time when the hierarchal order of the Patriarchs may seem to have been circumvented when Abraham may have appeared to take over the chief position over his fathers. In that instance and time, it would be when Abraham was worthy and either the chief patriarch was not worthy or dead. If Shem was Melchizedek, then until Melchizedek and his people were taken to heaven in that manner and way that Enoch was, then Shem would have been Abraham's patriarchal leader over him. Remember it was Abraham who did pay his tithes unto Melchizedek.

At any rate there came the time when Abraham was the lead and chosen Patriarchal Father who held the Keys of the presidency and the priesthood. That does not mean that there were not other Patriarchs without the priesthood, it only means that Abraham at some point in his life did become the chief leading Patriarch.

Subsequent Cases of the True Patriarchal House

From Abraham there was next Isaac. And Isaac was selected by God as being he that was the true Patriarchal House and Tree over Ishmael his brother for what was likely at the final time of selection by the death of Abraham, according to the fact that Abraham was the worthy choice over his brother Ishmael, who was the eldest son but not the next Patriarchal President. That does not preclude Ishmael from perhaps hold the priesthood, that would be in God's hands and there is evidence that other patriarchal families held priesthood authority but not the 'presidency' of the chief patriarch position as did Abraham and then his son Isaac.

After Isaac, again it would fall to the worty son rather than the eldest son. Esau had no respect unto the sacred order of the Patriarchal leadership. It was Jacob who was to be the next Patriarchal leader. Yet Jacob would not fully function in that Patriarchal Presidency until after the death of his father Isaac, even thos Isaac had long since given Jacob his Patriarchal Blessing. The Patriarchal Blessing itself would be of a prophetic nature setting out things as they would be even though they were not yet.

So here we have as it were a trio of cases, Abraham came to the Patriarchal Presidency after Melchizedek though he had been previously select of God to that position before that death of Melchizedek. And until that death of Melchizedek, Abraham did honor Melchizedek in his position by paying his tithes unto Melchizedek. And due to being worthy, it was Abraham who was worthy after Melchizedek even though some of his immediate father may have yet been living. Abraham was the worthy receipant over his fathers other than Melchizedek.

Likewise was Isaac the chosen worthy patriarchal leader or president next after Abraham. And next it was Jacob being the nex worthy patriarchal president after Isaac. This is to say the true leading house of the Patriarchs of Israel went from Abraham to Isaac to Jacob. And next the topic of the last great patriarch and his house being the true house or tree of the Patriarchal Presidency.

The True House of Israel in Joseph

It is markedly the will known and accepted truth that it was Joseph who suceeded Jacob as the ruling true house of lineage in the Patriarchal Order of Presidency. In respect to the 'True Tree of Israel' it was Joseph and the house of Joseph who it was. Yet due to the usurption of Judah to that which was not his, Joseph's leadership position over all of Israel had been diminished. That is given the list of that which belonged to the true Patriarchal House of Leadership, you could go down the 6 major items and people would ready say of Joseph, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, NO. That is due to Judah's claim that the Messiah was/is to come from Judah and not Joseph, the true patriarchal house of leadership of Joseph stands divided by the opinions of many today. And that though it is not truth.

To this end a very leading question may be asked. "How did the natural tree of Israel get moved from the land of Canaan to the land of the United States of America if the true house of Israel was vested in Judah and not Joseph? As to the known patriarchal flow of Israel from before the foundation of the earth, it would flow from God to Jehovah/Jesus to Adam to Noah to Abraham to Isaac to Jacob to Joseph and even then next to Joseph's son Ephraim. That is the line of the true tree of the presidency of the house of Israel.

Jacob even placed his name upon the sons of Joseph with Ephraim being the primary son. The Nothern Kingdom of Israel was known as the Kingdom of Israel as well as the Kingdom of Ephraim, while the Southern Kingdom was known as the Kingdom of Judah. And the true Patriarchal Tree of the Birthright did pass to Joseph not Judah. And from Joseph to Ephraim. And the earth in the latter-days are being blessing by, in and through the name of Ephraim. That is the presidency and leadership of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has been established by Ephraim. And the Gospel of Jesus Christ is being taken to the world in the name of the true tree of Israel, which is that of Ephraim.

So where did Judah ever come into this position of being the true tree of the Gospel of Jesus Christ? When and where did Judah become the leading true tree of bringing forth the true Tree of Life of the Gospel of Jesus Christ unto the world. It has been Judah who had killed and persecuted the prophets and killed them instead of writing and supporting them in their teachings of the coming Savior of Israel, the Son of God. When Lehi attempted to teach it in Jerusalem, the Jewish leadership sought to kill him.

Judah has not been the true tree of Israel, the tree of life of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. When Jesus Christ was on the earth, the Jews rejected, denied and crucified Jesus Christ and fought against the Gospel of Jesus Christ being taught as they always had done and will do until after all others of Israel have come unto Christ in following after Ephraim the true tree of life of Israel of Jesus Christ and the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

The true house of Israel, the truth Gospel of Jesus Christ; rests in Joseph and his son Ephraim. Judah has never been the true representative of Jesus Christ and his Gospel. The tree of Judah had never been that true Tree of Life.

When the house of Joseph, the remnant thereof, was first taken to America in the families of Lehi and Ishmael, the house of Joseph, the true house of Israel, had Jesus to be their God. They readily accepted and taught that Jehovah, the Spirit God of the Old Testament, was the same person as the Son of God who would come and be brought into the world by the birth of Jehovah as Jesus Christ to the virgin Mary.

Lehi taught it in Jerusalem and was sought to be killed by the Jews. Nephi taught it and recorded it in his scriptural record. All the prophets of the Book of Mormon taught it and they also taught that all the prophets of the Old Testament did teach it as well. Judah has never taught it, accepted it; and what they have done is to remove it from their scriptures whereever it could be found by them amoung them. And yet the words of the Prophet still came through in support of Jesus Christ as the Lord, Savior and Redeemer; the very Son of God.

The Two Olive Trees of Zechariah

¶ "Then answered I, and said unto him, What are these two olive trees upon the right side of the candlestick and upon the left side thereof?
"And I answered again, and said unto him, What be these two olive branches which through the two golden pipes empty the golden oil out of themselves?
"And he answered me and said, Knowest thou not what these be? And I said, No, my lord.
"Then said he, These are the two aanointed ones, that stand by the Lord of the whole earth."
    ~ Old Testament | Zechariah 4:11-14

There has been much speculation as to who these two Olive Branches (trees) are.
