Item 150
To Know God and Jesus Christ = Eternal Life

This is Life Eternal: To know God and Jesus Christ who He has sent = Life Eternal.

Understanding the names of God in the Bible, particularly in the Old Testament record, is a dubious task. Some have suggested returning the names of LORD and Lord back to such as their Hebrew originals, such as YWHW, or some such variant. But it would take more than this to properly comprehend and faithfully represent who is speaking and what is being said.

And then there are the names of the Lord before the days of Adam and Eve. That is from the beginning of the Generation of Jehovah in the preexistence. That is that Alpha of the spirit birth of the Lord Jehovah as the first born spirit of God the Father of Spirits in heaven. It ought to also be noted that the names of may of the leading and anointed men of the Bible have been called after and of the names of the Lord. From Kings to prophets and others have the God-Names come. That is such names as Elohim, Jehovah, Melchizedek, Joshua or Jehoshua, Israel, David, Zedekiah, Jeremiah, Isaiah, Elimelech, and so on and so forth. They are the names of God, the titles of God and the names that so do relate to God.

The reason one cannot merely return to the Hebrew texts' names is that these have been kept by the Jewish scribes and editors, who as often as not, themselves did not know who between Elohim and Jehovah was speaking, and in what person representing who. Largely it was Jehovah who spoke, whether as the Father in the stead of the Father. This though often God is refered to by another, and the other just as well may not have known the impending distinctions of even who was who and what was said in various persons and intents.

With all such transcriptions, translations and/or transliterations; what results it that It is God, the Almighty Jehovah either speaking as the Father, in the stead of the Father and of himself as the Lord (Jesus) in the third person, though it is himself who doe speak. Only the Spirit of God can sort out the true matter. The King James compilers and translators did well in moving it all into the Lord and/or LORD. The spirit of what is being said, and its meaning, is often well left within its own context without returning to the old Hebrew transcriptions and editings as far as things are now. There are so many layers to sort through, thus additional versions and the suffling between any further tanslations are or seem to be but adding more to the heap than there already is. Fight with God, meaning fight on the side of God—Israel means: contend/strive/wrestle/persist + EL = GOD Often taken to mean that Jacob wrestled with God, as in hand to hand combat in a wrestling match but reconsider that the use of the pronoun 'with' also may be taken to mean on the same side of God, that is 'with' God against the common foe of God In the preexistence there were those who fought on the side of God and those who fought on the side of Lucifer. Those who fought on the side of God against Lucifer were named or called Israel. They were the valiant who fought of the side of Elohim, they fought with Jehovah, his companions, on the side of Elohim against Lucifer. This is Isra-el, they who fight with God against the common foe of God. They did not fight against God. They fought against Lucifer and his angels. They were men wondered at, a piculiar people, a piculiar treasure, the people of the Lord. Israel. Even one of the very names of Jehovah is Israel, as he also fought for Elohim against Lucifer, the Devil.
