83. Jesus of Galilee
" ... Let us alone; what have we to do with thee,
thou Jesus of Nazareth? are thou come to destroy us? I know thee who
thou art; the Holy One of God." ~ Luke 4:26 & Mark 1:24
Besides being of the House of David, which at the time and date of Jesus
Christ had no honor left in it except David's ancestral claim as the
progenitor of the coming Messiah, Jesus was also NOT of Judaea. That is Jesus
was 'that 'prophet of Nazareth of Galilee' (Matthew 21:3). He was a
'Galilaean' and not a 'Judaean'. So of what matter would that be? Well the
Jew of Jerusalem and Judaea were quite concerned about that old division of
lands of the northern and southern kingdoms of the Hebrews. And just like
Samaria, Galilee was of that old traditional land of the northern kingdom.
And thus there was an automatic stegma about any from Galilee who would
usurp any positional authority over the Jews of Judaea and especially
Jerusalem.
" ... Can there any good thing come out of Nazareth?" ~
John 1:46
