APOSTASY & RESTORATION

A View of the Great Apostasy

Words of the Apostle Paul

Words of the Apostle Peter

"Now we beseech you, brethren, by the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, and by our gathering together unto him, That ye be not soon shaken in mind, or be troubled, neither by spirit, nor by word, nor by letter as from us, as that day of Christ is at hand. Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition." ~ II Thessalonians 2:1-3
"Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord; And he shall send Jesus Christ, which before was preached unto you. Whom the heaven must receive until the times of restitution of all things, which God hath spoken by the mouth of all his holy prophets since the world began." ~ Acts 3:19-21
"Take heed therefore unto yourselves, and to all the flock, over the which the Holy Ghost hath made you overseers, to feed the church of God, which he hath purchased with his own blood. For I know this, that after my departing shall grievous wolves enter in among you, not sparing the flock. Also of your own selves shall men arise, speaking perverse things, to draw away disciples after them." ~ Acts 20:28-30
"But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction. And many shall follow their pernicious ways; by reason of whom the way of truth shall be evil spoken of. And through covetousness shall they with feigned words make merchandise of you: whose judgment now of a long time lingereth not, and their damnation slumbereth not." ~ 2 Peter 2:1-3
"It is my purpose to write an account of the succession of the holy apostles, as well as of the times which have elapesed from the days of our Savior to our own ; and to relate the many important events which are said to have occurred in the history of the Church; and to mention those who have governed and presided over the Church in the most prominent parishes, and those who in each generation have proclaimed the divine word either orally or in writing. It is my purpose also to give the names and number and times of those who through love of innovation have run into the greatest errors, and, proclaiming themselves discoverers of knowledge falsely so-called have like fierce wolves unmercifully devastated the flock of Christ." ~ Ecclessiastical History ~ Eusebius, Book I, Chapter 1:1-2

~~ Concerning the Nicene Council - 325 A.D. ~~

"On their dictating this formula, we did not let it pass without inquiry in what sense they introduced 'of the substance of the Father,' and 'one in substance with the Father.' Accordingly questions and explanations took place, and the meaning of the words underwent the scrutiny of reason. And they professed that the phrase 'of the substance' was indicative of the Son's being indeed from the Father, yet without being as if a part of Him. And with this understanding we thought good to assent to the sense of such religious doctrine, teaching, as it did, that the Son was [begotten] from the Father, not, however, a part of His substance. On this account we assented to the sense ourselves, without declining even the term 'One in substance,' peace being the object which we set before us, and steadfastness in the orthodox view." ~ Letter of Eusebius concerning the Council of Nicea to his congregation.   -more-

This agreed upon definition of meaning was later changed by those of the 'Trinitarian Movement', which caused the great division between those who understood and held that the Father and Son were distinct separate entities, that is individuals, and each a Divine Deity in their own right.   -more-

A True Brief History

"It does not appear that these extraordinary gifts of the Holy Ghost were common in the Church for more than two or three centuries. We seldom hear of them after that fatal period when the Emperor Constantine called himself a Christian. . . . From this time they almost totally ceased. . . . The Christians had no more of the Spirit of Christ than the other heathens. . . . This was the real cause why the extraordinary gifts of the Holy Ghost were no longer to be found in the Christian Church; because the Christians were turned Heathen again, and had only a dead form left." ~ John Wesley
"There is no regularly-constitued church on earth, nor any person authorized to administer any Church ordinances: nor can there be, until new apostles are sent by the great Head of the Chruch, for whose coming I am seeking." ~ Roger Williams who refused to continue as pastor of the oldest Baptist Church in America. Williams also stated:
"The apostasy . . . hath so far corrupted all, that there can be no recovery out of that apostasy until Christ shall send forth new apostles to plant churches anew."
I have sought nothing beyond reforming the Church in conformity with the Holy Scriptures. The spiritual powers have not only been corupted by sin, but absolutely destroyed, so that there is now nothing of them but a depraved reason and a will that is an enemy and opponent of God. I simply say that Christianity has ceased to exist among those who should have preserved it." ~ Martin Luther
"The religion builders have so distorted and deformed the doctrines of Jesus, so muffled them in mysticisms, fancies and falsehoods, have caricatured them into forms so inconceivable, as to shock reasonable thinkers. . . . Happy is the prospect of a restoration of ancient Christianity. I must leave to younger persons to encounter and lop off the false branches which have been grafted into it by the mythologists of the middle and modern ages." ~ Thomas Jefferson

William Tyndale: a 16th-century religious reformer and scholar persisted in translating the Bible into the Early Modern English of his day against the direction of the Catholic Church that the Bible should not be translated into other languages and was for priestly reading and interpretation only. He struggled to avoid the church's persecution until on 6 September 1536 he was killed by strangulation and burned at the stake by the church. Tyndale's work eventually found its way into being much of the basis for the King James Version (or Authorized Version) of the Bible, published in 1611, which though the work of 54 independent scholars, is based primarily on Tyndale's translations.

William Tyndale Prophecy?

Spoken to a more local churchman, William Tyndale is quoted as stating:
"I defie the Pope and all his lawes. If God spare my life, ere many years I wyl cause a boy that driveth the plough to know more of the Scripture, than he doust."
Who but a 'plowboy' has restored the Gospel of Jesus Christ to the earth?

A View of the Restoration
~ Truth Restored ~

God the Father and Jesus Christ appeared as two distinct glorified individuals in bodily form, the Father introducing the Son, our Ministering Lord Jehoshua.
John the Baptist returned and restored the priesthood of Aaron, the authority to baptize. After which, Peter, James and John, the three chief apostles, restored the Melchizedek or apostalic priesthood.
The sought after Ministering of angels has returned.
An additional scriptural record, a representative portion of the Stick of Joseph, witnessing Christ's dealings with ancients upon the American continent was revealed by the angel Moroni who holds the keys to the record or stick of Joseph/Ephraim.
Three additional witness saw that angel as well as the 'golden plates' upon which the record had been engraved. Others, eight and more, have witnessed the plates alone. Yet just seeing an angel is not enough, the sure witness is that which the Holy Spirits bears to one's own inner soul or spirit.

Angels Again Are Visiting the Earth

At the dedication of the first 'restored' temple of the latter days in Kirkland, Ohio, a number of 'returning' angels appeared to restore further priesthood keys and powers. Elias, who will may have been Noah, returned and restored the keys of the blessings of the fathers [the Covenant of Abraham]. Moses returned to restore the keys to the gathering of Israel. The long awaited Elijah returned and retored the keys of the sealing powers of temple ordinances, the higher priesthood endowment, celestial marriage and power to seal families together forever for both the living and the death, thus turning the hearts of the fathers and children one to the other. Jesus Christ also appeared at the dedication and accepted the temple as a House of the Lord. Countless other angels were also in attendance and were seen by many. The ministering of angels of authority from God has returned to the earth.

Other Visions and Administrations Were
Received and Continue Today as Needed

Many other visitation and administrations were received then and continue to occur according to need amoung the saints of the restoration today. One such vision also received in the Kirkland Temple was that of the Celestial Kingdom of God. Another vision received by the Prophet Joseph Smith and Sidney Rigdon was 'The Vision' of the degrees of glory of the plan of salvation at Father Johnson's farm house in Hiram, Ohio. My own 2nd great grandfather was witness among others to the receiving of that vision. He did not see the vision himself but he witnessed Joseph and Sidney receiving it and the effects that it had upon them, their persons, such as the notable enlightening radiating glory of their body.

Personal and general visions and adminstrations by angels continue to be received in the Church as needed and required by the saints and the Church. They for the most part are not published publically as they are of personal need and meanings and not for public dispaly and are kept sacred not secret.

Many today are only kept from obtaining the blessings of the restored Gospel of Jesus Christ due to the tauntings and mockings of men. Many of these are out of envy and covetness. Pastors of others faiths have a stock interest in keeping 'their members' from such things as investigating the restored church, reading the Book of Mormon, the Stick of Joseph, or even praying to God in order to seek and request the truth from the Holy Spirit of God. Do not read, do not pray, do not seek the truth from them they'll say. 'Listen only to me', as they continue to mock and slander the very thing from God which such as Roger Williams and others have been looking forward to and hoping would happen.
