12 And he took away the sodomites out of the

12a he took away the sodomites out of the
land The LDS Institute Old Testament lesson manual speaks of these
'sodomites' as being 'the male and female prostitutes who attended the pagan
temples, groves, altars, and shrines.' The LDS Topical Guide crossreferrences
'Sodomy' to Homosexuality. Thus it may well be that even all 'sexual sin',
that is the unrepented of and open pracitices of sexual sin, outside of the
sanctioned union of husband and wife, was being elliminated as the social
disease that it is, so corrupting society and civilization as it does do; not
to just mention the direct attack upon society's basic unit of the family.
