The Creationary Matters

FOR this consideration, the Creationary Matters as presented in the scriptures must be considered upon both the Spiritual Creation and the Temporal or Physical Creation of the heavens and earth. This is as set out by the record of their organization per Abraham in the Book of Abraham, the Book of Moses account according to the Joseph Smith's inspired translation, and according to the King James Bible version of the historical Bible of the Jews. Also other scriptural referrences to the creation as such as the gospel of John's input chapter 1 and so on and so forth, will be additionally applied for inhanced understandings.

If carefully studied, all three basic accounts record that there was first a prior Spiritual of Heavenly Creation before there was a natural creation upon the actual physical earth 'below.' (Genesis 2:4-5; Moses 3:4-5; Abraham 5:2-5) Only in the Abraham account is it made clear that the seven period or day pattern of creation was first designed and completed in heaven and not upon the singular planet earth, though it would so follow the pattern or design of that spiritual creation designed out and orgainized in heaven. And in reality the initial Spirit births of mankind were previously concluded at we all met as spirit childern in the grand council of heaven where Jehovah was selected and that before the spiritual design and plan of creation as Abraham so records it to have happened after the Grand Council of Heaven and before man-Adam was ever placed upon the earth itself.

One debate here becomes withern Eden was first in heaven and then upon the earth. But that seems to be easily resolved in relying upon all three accounts as the Garden of Eden was not planted until after the primary spiritual creation of Genesis 1, Moses 2 or Abraham 4. The Lord God forms man from the dust of the earth in Genesis 2:7; Moses 3:7 and Abraham 5:7 and then subsequent to that is the Garden eastward in Eden planted and then man was put there in Genesis 2:8; Moses 3:8 and Abraham 5:8. There is no Garden of Eden in the 7 period/day creation account of Genesis 1, Moses 2, or Abraham 4. Thus the actual Garden of Eden was temporally and physically upon the planet earth and not in heaven.

This latter fact is consistent with the fact that Heaven is a Celestial realm, whereas the Terrestrial or Telestial realms are not of the Celestial Heaven and can and do only so occur upon a temporal physical sphere such as the planet earth. And as clarified by the Inspired Translation, though the 7 period/day creation was of the spiritual pattern, the Lord only applied it to the earth relative to what the Lord revealed unto Moses, as he only spoke to Moses of that which concerned the earth. Thus the Moses account was from a 'earthly perspective' only and not from the more Universal consideration as was the Abraham account. This if from how the Book of Abraham so records the events of heaven, the Pre-esistence, which the Moses account does not include to have had its perspective from that view point.

Genesis Chapter 1

The Abraham record records the creation beginning with chapter 4 of the Book of Abraham. Chapter 3 had just ended an account of the selection of Jehovah to be the Savior and Redeemer in the Pre-existance. Thus the 'And then' of the beginning of chapter 4 may be preceived as 'immediately following' the council in heaven of that selection of Jehovah as the Redeemer and Savior. And thus when it states that 'they' went down, it may be concluded that 'down' was from the council's stage to what becomes the 'spiritual creation stage' and/or the prior to the temporal creation 'planning, organizing and designing spirit creation phases of the 'creative pattern' that was to be applied conforming template to all of temporal creation under the plan and desing of God.

As revealed in the Inspired Version, Moses' perspective, as provided by God to him, was limited as the Lord only revealed unto Moses concerning 'this heaven, and this earth. Moses was not given the 'pre-existence' Council in Heaven perspective that Abarham had been given and Moses was told to only write that which God spoke to him. So even if Moses had access to the Abraham account or not, Moses did not write from that perspective as did Abraham.

At what point the Jewish Bible lost the beginnings of the book named Genesis as had in the Book of Moses Inspired Version is not clear. Certainly 'In the beginning is a nice place to start as text named Genesis even though it is one of the five books of Moses who did not lived until after the book of Genesis has completed its history. The inspired version does give the introduction of just how Moses received the creation account, that it was from the Lord and not from any such review of any likely texts of Abraham. This is unlike the first person quotes from such as other parts of Genesis that was not Moses speaking but that of his pregenitors speaking in the first person. These may well have come from such as the 'Book of Remebrance' as kept by Abraham (Abraham 1:28, Moses 6:5 & 46).

The Gods plan the creation of the earth and all life thereon—Their plans for the six days [times] of creation are set forth.
~ Pearl of Great Price | Abraham 4:Heading

God creates the heavens and the earth—All forms of life created—God makes man and gives him dominion over all else.
~ Pearl of Great Price | Moses 2:Heading

God creates this earth and its heaven and all forms of life in six days—Creative acts of each day set forth—God creates man, both male and female, in his own image—Man given dominion over all things, and commanded to multiply and fill the earth.
~ Old Testament | Genesis 1:Heading

Some matters ought to be clarified here. First, the creation was a joint effort. God the Father and His Son Jehovah/Jesus Christ or the Word, performed the creation jointly as the Gods. Eloheim was the word for God used in the Hebrew text which actually was the plural form meaning Gods, but is was translated singularly. In fact the Father directed the creation and the Son by the priesthood power given him by the Father performed the creation. Second, The Son Jehovah was selected and anointed and empowered by the Father to stand and act in the stead of the Father in all things. Thus as the Lord God Jehovah of the Old Testament, Jehovah/Jesus Christ would oft times stand and speak from the perspective of being the Father, Whom he represented by that Divine Investiture bestowed upon him. At time such times Jehovah would speak of the Only Begotten Son, himself as Jesus Christ, in the third person, as he spoke as the Father and did refer to himself in the third person from that perspective of the Father. At other times Jehovah actually did speak of himself as the Savior in the first person when not strictly speaking from the perspective of representing the Father. This causes some confussion when one lacks that understanding of the two perspectives carried by the Son Jehovah as the God of the Old Testament. Leviticus 16:32 seems to best sum the matter of the Son standing in the stead of the Father in all things in the foreshadowing preserved in the ordinances of the tabernacle.

"And the [High Priest] priest, whom he shall anoint, and whom he shall consecrate to minister in the [High Priest's] priest's office in his [Father's] father's stead, shall make the atonement, and shall put on the linen clothes, even the holy garments:"
    ~ Old Testament | Leviticus 16:32

Thus in the Inspired Version, it would be the case of Jehovah speaking as the Father in the stead of the Father, and speaking of himself as the Only Begotten Son in the third person from the perspective of Jehovah representing and standing in the stead of the Father in the citing of the creation relative to the earth to Moses in the Book of Moses. And in the Book of Abraham, Abraham relates that it is the 'Gods,' plural who are performing the organizational times/days of the pattern of creation. [There are several sources that further help to clarify this relationship of the Father and Son including John 1:1-4, Ecclesiastical History of the Church, Book I Chapter 2, by Bishop Eusebius of Ceasarea, The Father and the Son: A Doctrinal Exposition by the First Presidency and the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles, and many other scriptures and authoritative sources including the Temple Endowment for those who visit the temple.]

"AND then the Lord said: Let us go down. And they went down at the beginning, and they, that is the Gods, organized and formed the heavens and the earth."
~ Pearl of Great Price | Abraham 4:1

"AND it came to pass that the Lord spake unto Moses, saying: Behold, I reveal unto you concerning this heaven, and this earth; write the words which I speak. I am the Beginning and the End, the Almighty God; by mine Only Begotten I created these things; yea, in the beginning I created the heaven, and the earth upon which thou standest."

"And I, God, called the firmament Heaven; and the evening and the morning were the second day."
~ Pearl of Great Price | Moses 2:6-8

"And the Gods said: Let us prepare the earth to bring forth grass; the herb yielding seed; the fruit tree yielding fruit, after his kind, whose seed in itself yieldeth its own likeness upon the earth; and it was so, even as they ordered.
"And the Gods organized the earth to bring forth grass from its own seed, and the herb to bring forth herb from its own seed, yielding seed after his kind; and the earth to bring forth the tree from its own seed, yielding fruit, whose seed could only bring forth the same in itself, after his kind; and the Gods saw that they were obeyed.
"And it came to pass that they numbered the days; from the evening until the morning they called night; and it came to pass, from the morning until the evening they called day; and it was the third time."
~ Pearl of Great Price | Abraham 4:9-13

"And organized them to be for lights in the expanse of the heaven to give light upon the earth; and it was so.
"And the Gods organized the two great lights, the greater light to rule the day, and the lesser light to rule the night; with the lesser light they set the stars also;

"So the Gods went down to organize man in their own image, in the image of the Gods to form they him, male and female to form they them.
"And the Gods said: We will bless them. And the Gods said: We will cause them to be fruitful and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it, and to have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.
