12 ¶ And if thy brother, an Hebrew man,
or an Hebrew woman, be asold unto thee, and serve thee six
years; then in the seventh year thou shalt let him go free from
theea.
13 And when thou sendest him out free from thee, thou shalt not let him go away empty:
14 Thou shalt furnish him liberally out of thy
flock, and out of thy afloor, and out of thy winepress:
of that wherewith the LORD thy God hath blessed thee thou shalt give
unto him.

12a then in the seventh year thou shalt
let him go free from thee In the days of Zedekiah and the
prophet Jeremiah, this is the sin which those of Jerusalem could not hide
and which the Lord did condemn them for not adhereing to (Jeremiah 34:8-22).
Certainly the Jews of Jerusalem were guilty of much more, but they hid their
sins that none could witness of them against them. But of this sin of not
releasing their Hebrew bought slaves/servants upon the seveth year of release
as was the covenant of Israel unto the Lord and also that which King Zedekiah
did recommit them to at the beginning of his reign. Therefore after that
seven year of release had come again, and the Jews did still not release their
servants such as Zoram of Laban and so on, then there were ample witnesses
that they did not do as the Lord commanded and the Lord had Jeremiah condemn
them to their destruction because of it and they could not deny their guilt
of it.
