                 CHAPTER 10

Mordecai the Jew stands next to Ahasuerus in power and might.

1 And the king Ahasuerus laid a tribute upon the land, and upon the isles of the sea.
2 And all the acts of his power and of his might, and the declaration of the greatness of Mordecaia, whereunto the king aadvanced him, are they not written in the book of the bchronicles of the kings of Media and Persia?
3 For Mordecai the aJew was bnext unto king Ahasuerus, and great among the Jews, and accepted of the multitude of his brethren, seeking the wealth of his people, and speaking peace to all his seed.
2a the declaration of the greatness of Mordecai In the end of the book of Esther it speaks of the declaration of the greatness of Mordecai, but wherein but in the book of Esther is Mordecai declared? He ought to stand among such as Joseph and Daniel for having been raised up second only to the King of Persia and as a great deliverer of the Jews from total annihilation and extinction. Not only in the one instance did Mordecai so preserve and serve the Jews, but in all his life as next in power and might to the king did Mordecai so serve his people. A great hero, deliverer and redeemer of his people is Mordecai.  2a Dan. 3:30
