3 Therefore they shall be as the morning cloud, and as
the early dew that passeth away, as the achaff that
is driven with the whirlwind out of the floor, and as the smoke out of the
chimney.
4 Yet I am the LORD thy God from the land of
Egypt, and thou shalt know no agod but me: for
there is no bsaviour

4a there is no saviour beside
me As also stated in 2 Nephi: "there is save one
Messiah spoken of
by the prophets" (verse 18) and "there is none other name given under heaven
save it be this Jesus Christ" (see 2 Nephi 25:18-20). And while others may
be of the order, shadow, type and similitude of the Savior, the Messiah, they
are not, should and and ought not be so attributed to being the 'Messiah'.
Some have, in error, attributed the title of 'Messiah ben Joseph' to Joseph
Smith. For the reasons just stated this ought not be. Further it may well be
shown that in all likelihood, Jesus himself is Messiah ben Joseph, which
doubly enhances the error of stating such of Joseph Smith (see
Messiah ben David ~ Messiah ben Joseph). Now
in truth as a prophet follower of Jesus, like unto Moses who was also a
similitude of Jesus the Messiah, Joseph Smith may also be seen as a type, as
was Joshua and even Joseph of Egypt and any other such faithful prophet. But
the precise title of Messiah, even Messiah ben Joseph, ought not be ascribed
unto Joseph Smith. Joseph Smith IS NOT the Messiah.
