7 The days of avisitation are come,
the days of recompence are come; Israel shall know
it:a the prophet
is a bfool, the spiritual man is mad, for the
multitude of thine iniquity, and the great hatred.
8 The watchman of Ephraim was with my God: but the prophet is a snare of a fowler in all his ways, and hatred in the house of his God.
9 They have deeply acorrupted
themselves, as in the days of bGibeah:
therefore he will remember their iniquity, he will visit their
sins.

7a the days of recompence are come; Israel
shall know it Hosea the prophet is sent to speak of the
destruction and scattering of Israel. Now Israel is the northern kingdom
whereas Judah was the southern. And as the southern kingdom was known by the
name of Judah though made up various tribes, the primary one being Judah. And
the northerning kingdom was know by that same name which was given upon
Ephraim by Jacob which was Israel. But also as is now here in Hosea, the
kingdom of Israel is also called by the name of Ephraim thought it also was
made up of many tribes. Thus there is Ephraim and his companions and Judah and
her companions, the two kingdom of the Hebrews, north Israel or Ephraim and
the south being Judah.
