                    CHAPTER 62

In the last days, Israel shall be gathered—Zion shall be established—Her watchmen shall teach about the Lord—They shall lift the gospel standard—They shall be chosen and redeemed.

In the last days the Lord's people, Israel, Zion, Jerusalem; shall be gathered—Isreal, Zion, the New Jerusalem; Israel, Zion, the Old Jerusalem; shall be established in their two centers of location, Joseph/Ephraim, Israel and his companions in the western hemishere and Judah, Israel and his companions in the eastern hemisphere—Her watchmen, the dually appointed, authorized and empowered 'watchmen' shall teach about the Lord—They shall lift the gospel standard to the world that the promises of the fathers (Covenant of Abraham) restored might bless the nations of the earth—They shall be chosen and redeemed.
1 FOR Zion's sakea will I not hold my peace, and for Jerusalem's sakea I will not rest, until the righteousness thereof go forth as brightness, and the salvation thereof as a lamp that burneth.
2 And the Gentiles shall asee thy righteousness, and all kings thy glory: and thou shalt be called by a new bnamea, which the mouth of the LORD shall name.
1a Zion's sake ...Jerusalem's sake Sometimes there are those that see that Zion and Jerusalem are used in parallel chiasm to reference the same place, Old Jerusalem in Palestine. Their are others who use Zion as reference to Jackson County, Missouri in the Western Hemisphere, the Zion of Joseph, and Jerusalem as reference to those of the Jews of the Eastern Hemisphere. In truth, Jerusalem, Zion and even Israel are but personificaltions, titles and references to those who are the people of the Lord. From before the time of Adam in the preexistence was Jerusalem used to reference the comunity of the peacible followers of Christ in contrast to those followers of Lucifer who did cause contention and war in heaven (See Zechariah 3:2 commentary). When viewed as such, Zion and Jerusalem are not particular places though there are such center 'stakes' so placed, but they are a reference to the Lord's people, those who prevail in Christ, his peaceable followers, the prue in heart who do take upon themselves his name as his followers. Therefore the Lord does act for and in behalf of his people's sake, those who are given him by the Father, they who have been associated with him from the beginning and have chosen and followed him from the beginning rather than those who have chosen and followed after Lucifer in opposition to him.

2a called by a new name The name by which the promised children of the Lord have been known by historically has been 'Israel' or the 'Sons of Abraham'. Yet in the ancient days it was known that 'the name' by which they where to be known by would be 'Jesus Christ' (See Moses 6:51-53, 7:50, 8:23-24). And we of 'The Chruch of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints' know by which name we are called, Jesus Christ. Now whether that 'new name' which will be given is other than Israel and well be unto them a new name in 'Jesus Christ' or not is to be seen. And whether it be the name of 'Jesus Christ' as so pronounced in the Adamic language of God or some other name is to be seen. But we ought to understand that there is no other name given under heaven by which we may be saved but the name of our Lord and Savior, whether it be as 'Jesus Christ' or some other such name, it will likely be the same.

3 Thou shalt also be a acrown of glory in the hand of the LORD, and a royal diadem in the hand of thy God.
4 Thou shalt no more be termed aForsaken; neither shall thy bland any more be termed Desolatea: but thou shalt be called cHephzi-bah, and thy land dBeulah: for the LORD delighteth in thee, and thy land shall be married.
4a termed Desolate Now while this speaks of the destoryed lands of Israel, and certainly the Amereicas as being that promised land of Joseph does qualify, there is still an interesting 'parallel' matter to consider. The land north of the narrow neck of land in the Book of Mormon was called by the name of 'Desolation'. And though it was 'Desolation' in respect to the destruction of the Jaredite nation, as all will come under the greater umbrella of being of the House of Israel as the gospel is spread to every nation, kindred, tongue and people; present, past and future—certainly it might be so related that that land called 'Desolation' in American is so 'termed Desolate' and it will be covered in this promise that 'neither shall thy land any more be termed Desolate'.
5 ¶ For as a young man marrieth a virgin, so shall thy sons marry thee: and as the bridegroom rejoiceth over the bride, so shall thy God arejoice over thee.
6 I have set awatchmen upon thy walls, O Jerusalem, which shall never hold their peace day nor night: ye that make mention of the LORD, keep not silence,
7 And give him no rest, till he establish, and till he make Jerusalem a apraise in the earth.
8 The LORD hath sworn by his right hand, and by the arm of his strength, Surely I will no more give thy corn to be meat for thine enemies; and the sons of the stranger shall not drink thy wine, for the which thou hast laboured:
9 But they that have gathered it shall eat it, and praise the LORD; and they that have brought it together shall drink it in the courts of my aholiness.
10 ¶ Go through, go through the gates; aprepare ye the way of the people; cast up, cast up the bhighway; gather out the stones; lift up a cstandard for the people.
11 Behold, the LORD hath proclaimed unto the end of the aworld, Say ye to the bdaughter of Zion, Behold, thy csalvation cometh; behold, his dreward is with him, and his work before him.
12 And they shall call them, The holy people, The redeemed of the LORD: and thou shalt be called, Sought out, A city not forsaken.
