1 AND after five days
aAnanias the high priest descended with the elders, and
with a certain orator named
Tertullusa, who informed the
governor against Paul.
2 And when he was called forth, Tertullus began
to accuse him, saying, Seeing that by thee we enjoy great quietness, and that very worthy deeds are done unto this nation by thy providence,
3 We accept it always, and in all places, most noble Felix, with all thankfulness.

1a Tertullus Tertullus was a
'ringer', a hired Roman Senate 'Lawyer' who could work the case against Paul
in behalf of the Jews to its utmost. It would be like bring in 'Perry
Mason' or some such high cost highly esteemed lawyer to win the case not only
upon its merits but upon the skills and presentation of 'Tertullus'. Such was
Zeezrom in the Book of Mormon. The Jews were dead set upon Paul's conviction,
a pryor Pharisee now turned Christian which was a distinct thorn in the side
of the Jews.
