1 AND as Jesus
passed by, he saw a man which was ablind from his
birth.
2 And his disciples asked him, saying, Master,
who did sin, this aman, or his parents, that he was
born blind?a
3 Jesus answered, Neither hath this man sinned, nor
his parents: but that the aworks of God should be made
bmanifest in him.

2a who did sin, this man, or his parents,
the he was born blind? Now whence would this man have sinned
before he was born that he would have been born blind in the minds of Christ's
disciples? To so consider the question there must be an understanding of a
pre-mortal existance of the children of men from whence they must come, in
which this man may have sinned prior to his birth. And thus it is that the
true gospel has this understanding that men did so live in premortality before
they were so born in the flesh.
