22 ¶ And he cometh to Bethsaida; and they bring a blind man unto him, and besought him to touch him.
23 And he took the blind man by the hand, and led him
out of the town; and when he had spit on his eyes, and put his
ahands upon him, he asked him if he saw
bought.
24 And he looked up, and said, I see men as
trees, walkinga.

24a I see men as trees, walking
Often we adhere to the attitude that 'been there, done that' in respect to
various aspects of the gospel, especially in terms of hearing and studying
the word. 'I've read that.' 'I've heard that talk before.' 'That's the same
lesson we had four years ago in the Gospel Doctrine class.' But so it is. And
so often the first time through we are in truth but like he blind man who did
obtain his sight by degrees. And we first see but 'men as trees, walking',
not clearly understanding and preceiving the detailed depths of the gospel.
And actually it is not until much study, and prayer and continuous detailed
study that our vision finally begins to become clear to enable us to see
clearly and in detail the finer aspects of the gospel. Let us not presume
that once thru, that just to know one thing, say the Book of Mormon is true,
is enough. For indeed there is much to the gosepl and it comes line upon line,
percept upon precept, here a little and there a little. And until be have
had much experience of continuous study, prayer and multiple exposures to the
finer points of it, do we in all reality actual come to see it in its grander
and finer detail and aspects.
