CHAPTER 8
John sees fire and desolation poured out during the seventh seal and
preceding the Second Coming.
|
|
|
1 AND when he had aopened the
bseventh seal, there was csilence in
heaven about the space of half an hour.
2 And I saw the seven angels which stood before God;
and to them were given seven atrumpets.
3 And another angel came and stood at the altar,
having a golden censer; and there was given unto him much
aincense, that he should offer it with the prayers
of all saints upon the golden altar which was before the throne.
|
|
|
4 And the smoke of the incense, which came with
the aprayers of the saints, ascended up before God out of the angel's hand.
5 And the angel took the censer, and filled it with
fire of the altar, and acast it into the earth: and
there were bvoices, and thunderings, and lightnings, and an
earthquake.
6 And the seven angels which had the
seven atrumpets prepared themselves to
sounda.
|
6a the seven angels which had the seven
trumpets prepared themselves to sound Now these are not the same
as the seven angels of the candlestick or menorah, nor are they to be so
associated with the seven seals being openned. These are they who will prepare
the way before the coming of the Lord are the beginning of the seventh time
or the seventh thousand years. These are they who will sound and prepare the
way of the Second Coming at the beginning of the Millennial Day. And their
destructions and woes are those so associated with that great and dreadful
day immediately before the Lord comes to rule and reign. They are they who
are to remove all the 'wickedness' which cannot abide the presence of the
Lord. And at this beginning there will be a partial judgement in which the
Lord God will sanctify the earth and complete that portion of the salvation
of man, judging all things accordingly except that which hath not at that
time been put into his power. This in short is the 'Terrestrial-lization' of
the earth. Those who are of a Telestial nature having been removed
(D&C 77:12). In other words this is the 'dirty work' with only the rewards
according to 'works' yet to come which divide the Terrestial and Celestial
degrees of kingdoms and glories to be ascribed at the end of time and the
final judgment.

The First Trumpet Angel
|
7 The first angel sounded, and there followed hail and
afire mingled with blood, and they were cast upon the earth: and the third part of trees was burnt up, and all green grass was burnt up.
|
|
|
The Second Trumpet Angel
|
8 And the second angel sounded, and as it were a great
mountain burning with fire was cast into the sea: and the third part of the
sea became ablood;
9 And the third part of the creatures which were in the sea, and had life, died; and the third part of the ships were destroyed.

|
|
The Third Trumpet Angel
|
10 And the third angel sounded, and there
afell a great star from heaven, burning as it were a lamp,
and it fell upon the third part of the rivers, and upon the fountains of
waters;
11 And the name of the star is called Wormwood: and the third part of the waters became wormwood; and many men died of the waters, because they were made bitter.
|
|
|
The Fourth Trumpet Angel
|
12 And the fourth angel sounded, and the third part of the sun was smitten, and the third part of the moon, and the third part of the stars; so as the third part of them was darkened, and the day shone not for a third part of it, and the night likewise.

The Interim Announcing Angel
|
13 And I beheld, and heard an
aangel flying through the midst of heaven, saying with a
loud voice, bWoe, woe, woe, to the inhabiters of the earth
by reason of the other voices of the trumpet of the three angels, which are
yet to sound!
