            CHAPTER 3
      (June—October 1830)
God created all things spiritually before they were naturally upon the earth—First man and first flesh created—Woman a help meet for man.
 1 THUS the aheaven and the earth were finished, and all the bhost of them.
MOS 3:2 And on the seventh day I, God, ended my work, and all things which I had made; and I arested on the bseventh day from all my work, and all things which I had made were finished, and I, God, saw that they were good;
MOS 3:3 And I, God, ablessed the seventh day, and bsanctified it; because that in it I had rested from all my cwork which I, God, had created and made.

MOS 3:4 And now, behold, I say unto you, that these are the generations of the heaven and of the earth, when they were acreated, in the day that I, the Lord God, made the bheaven and the earth,
MOS 3:5 And every plant of the field before it was in the earth, and every herb of the field before it grew. For I, the Lord God, acreated all things of which I have spoken, bspiritually, before they were cnaturally upon the face of the eartha. For I, the Lord God, had not caused it to rain upon the face of the earth. And I, the Lord God, had dcreated all the children of men; and not yet a man to till the eground; for in fheaven fcreated I them; and there was not yet flesh upon the earth, neither in the water, neither in the air;

Traditional Christianity
Traditional Christianity has always attempted to apply the biblical account of the creation to earth's natural history. If the six day or time period account is actually a master plan of spiritual creation which occured in heaven and then later applied to the temporal elements of this earth and other worlds, whereby assuming and taking on the 'dust' of each world and conforming it to the spirit; then there is no logical reason why the Bible's account of the six day spiritual creation and the natural history of the elements of this earth and other worlds ever need to be in conformatiy, harmony, parallel or match as to their separate past histories.

 5a I, the Lord God, created all things of which I have spoken, spiritually, before they were naturally upon the face of the earth Because of the traditional concepts of Christianity, when one thinks of things of the spirit they frequently think of things which are not 'tangible'. Yet the Prophet Joseph Smith clearly taught that spirit is also 'matter' being of a higher and more pure quality. If so then the spirit of a man is not 'intangible' but unto the natural man. That is the substance of spirit is quite real and is also consistant of matter. Thus the process of the 'spiritual' creation is not one of dealing with the 'intangible' as to something which is nothing, but merely dealing with that matter which is of a more pure nature. Thus the 'Spiritual Creation' is indeed a 'real' and 'tangible' creation. There is even such evidence that that which is of spirit can so eat and drink even as the mortal temporal man of flesh and bones does do for the Lord and his three angels did come unto Abraham and they did eat of that which Abraham had prepared for them to eat.
Thus, that which is of the spiritual nature and that which is of the temporal nature and flesh and bone is only different in its material element makeup. And we do not have any such understanding as to what it is that is the more pure element of spirit though we do know a number of things about that which is flesh and bone. Therefore, the actual envolvement of the spiritual creation is beyond our understanding until such is to be further revealed unto us. And we must needs consider that the spiritual creation which the Lord accounts unto Moses and Moses records, is a very real material and elemental creation upon which perhaps this lesser envolved temporal and natual creation is added and based upon.
MOS 3:6 But I, the Lord God, spake, and there went up a amist from the earth, and watered the whole face of the ground.
MOS 3:7 And I, the Lord God, formed man from the adust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the bbreath of life; and cman became a living dsoul, the efirst flesh upon the earth, the first man also; nevertheless, all things were before created; but spiritually were they created and made according to my word.

MOS 3:8 And I, the Lord God, planted a garden eastward in aEden, and there I put the man whom I had formed.
MOS 3:9 And out of the ground made I, the Lord God, to grow every tree, anaturally, that is pleasant to the sight of man; and man could behold it. And it became also a bliving soul. For it was spiritual in the day that I created it; for it remaineth in the sphere in which I, God, created it, yea, even all things which I prepared for the use of man; and man saw that it was good for food. And I, the Lord God, planted the ctree of life also in the midst of the garden, and also the tree of knowledge of good and evil.
MOS 3:10 And I, the Lord God, caused a river to go out of aEden to water the garden; and from thence it was parted, and became into four bheads.
MOS 3:11 And I, the Lord God, called the name of the first Pison, and it compasseth the whole land of aHavilah, where I, the Lord God, created much gold;
MOS 3:12 And the gold of that land was good, and there was bdellium and the aonyx stone.
MOS 3:13 And the name of the second river was called Gihon; the same that compasseth the whole land of aEthiopia.
MOS 3:14 And the name of the third river was Hiddekel; that which goeth toward the east of Assyria. And the fourth river was the Euphrates.
MOS 3:15 And I, the Lord God, took the man, and put him into the Garden of aEden, to dress it, and to keep it.
MOS 3:16 And I, the Lord God, commanded the man, saying: Of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat,
MOS 3:17 But of the tree of the aknowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it, nevertheless, thou mayest bchoose for thyself, for it is given unto thee; but, remember that I cforbid it, for in the dday thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely edie.
MOS 3:18 And I, the Lord God, said unto mine aOnly Begotten, that it was not good that the man should be balone; wherefore, I will make an chelp meet for him.
MOS 3:19 And out of the ground I, the Lord God, formed every abeast of the field, and every fowl of the air; and commanded that they should come unto Adam, to see what he would call them; and they were also living souls; for I, God, breathed into them the bbreath of life, and commanded that whatsoever Adam called every living creature, that should be the name thereof.
MOS 3:20 And Adam gave anames to all cattle, and to the fowl of the air, and to every beast of the field; but as for Adam, there was not found an help meet for him.
MOS 3:21 And I, the Lord God, caused a deep sleep to fall upon Adam; and he slept, and I took one of his ribs and closed up the flesh in the stead thereof;
MOS 3:22 And the rib which I, the Lord God, had taken from man, made I a awoman, and brought her unto the man.
MOS 3:23 And aAdam said: This I know now is bone of my bones, and bflesh of my flesh; she shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of man.
MOS 3:24 Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall acleave unto his bwife; and cthey shall be done flesh.
MOS 3:25 And they were both naked, the man and his wife, and were not ashamed.
