8a thou hast delivered my soul from
death, mine eyes from tears, and my feet from falling
Considering that the name given by whom men are redeemed is Jesus/Jehoshua,
which means 'Jehovah delivers'; it is interesting here to consider what it
is that Jehovah delivers us from. (1) He delivers us from temporal death in
that by the resurrection our spirit will be again united with our body of
flesh and bone, this is overcoming the death of the grave. (2) He will
deliver from all the pains, sorrows, injustices, miseries and woes of this
world, all things will be made well and better in and through him. (3) He
will deliver us from the fall, that second death of separation from the
presence of God if but our feet do turn unto and follow him in righteousness.
