       CHAPTER 124

David says: Israel's help is in the name of the Lord.

A Song of degrees of David.
  1 IF it had not been the LORD who was on our side, now may Israel say;
  2 If it had not been the LORD who was on our side, when men rose up against us:
  3 Then they had aswallowed us up quick, when their wrath was kindled against us:
  4 Then the waters had overwhelmed us, the stream had gone over our soul:
  5 Then the proud waters had gone over our soul.
  6 Blessed be the LORD, who hath not given us as a prey to their teeth.
  7 Our soul is escaped as a bird out of the asnare of the fowlers: the snare is broken, and we are escaped.
  8 Our ahelp is in the name of the LORD, who made heaven and eartha.
 8a in the name of the LORD, who made heaven and earth Jehovah who is Jesus Christ, is he who by the direction and power given him of God the Father, made this temporal heaven and earth. He is the 'creator' or organizer of it. And that name by which men are delivered is the very name which was given Jehovah by the Father in the preexistence, which is Jehoshua in the transliterated Hebrew and Jesus in the transliterated Greek. And that name means 'Jehovah Delivers' or in other words 'Jehovah Saves' which it mans salvation from the fall of Adam and the receipt of glory based upon one's uprightness in following the way of the doctine of the Lord.
