       CHAPTER 129

The Lord is righteous—Let those be confounded who hate Zion.

A Song of degrees.
1 Many a time have they afflicted me from my youth, may Israel now say:a
2 Many a time have they afflicted me from my youth: yet they have not aprevailed against mea.
3 The plowers plowed upon my back: they made long their furrows.
1a may Israel now say: Those who have been of the house of Israel by birth have often been set upon by the wickedness of the world. And it was Israel's giving in to it which did cause the Lord to scatter Israel throughout the world. Yet in the last days, those who would be called by the name of Israel must change their epatone from being thouse who have been so afflicted of the world and having let the world prevail against them unto wickedness. They must stand in the strength of their God and NOT allow the fear of men and wickedness any longer prevail against them.
2a yet they have not prevailed against me The great test and challenge of this life of the second estate is do whatsoever the Lord does command us to do. Such a commitment to the righteousness of the Lord is to stand strong before the world. And even though the world of sin and evil and the men thereof do afflict us, we are to stand strong in the Lord that they do not prevail against us. This is the challenge of those who would be called by the name of Israel, to stand firm and not fail by letting the world prevail against them.
4 The LORD is righteous: he hath cut asunder the cords of the wicked.
5 Let them all be confounded and turned back that hate Zion.
6 Let them be as the agrass upon the housetops, which withereth afore it groweth up:
7 Wherewith the amower filleth not his hand; nor he that bindeth sheaves his bosom.
8 Neither do they which go by say, The blessing of the LORD be upon you: we bless you in the name of the LORD.
