       CHAPTER 134

Bless the Lord and he will bless thee.

A Song of degrees.
1 BEHOLD, bless ye the LORD, all ye servants of the LORD, which by anight stand in the house of the LORD.
2 Lift up your ahandsa in the sanctuary, and bless the LORD.
3 The LORD that made heaven and earth abless thee out of Zion.
2a Lift up your hands Lifting up one's hand unto the God of Heaven is an action and sign of praising and blessing the name of God while calling upon his name. Though we do not do this in daily and common prayers each day and in church meetings, perhaps from time to time one ought to take the time in their personal petition unto God to so sign their praise and bless the name of God that he in turn might more readily bless us in return. Certainly we ought to praise our Lord and bless him in our communication with him that he might see and not just suppose the extent of our devotion unto him.
