CHAPTER 29
David counsels: Worship the Lord in the beauty of holiness—He sets forth the wonder and power of the voice of the Lord. |
||
|
||
  1 GIVE unto the LORD, O ye mighty, give unto the LORD glory and strength.
  2 Give unto the LORD the glory due unto his namea; worship the LORD in the abeauty of holiness. |
2a Give unto the LORD the glory due unto his name The Jewish record has not preserved it well, but like in the Book of Mormon, all the holy prophets did prophesy and speak of the coming of the Messiah whose name was known to be Jehoshua according to Bishop Eusebius of Caesarea and the JST Bible record of Moses also preserved in the Pearl of Great Price as the book of Moses. Adam knew his name (Moses 6), Enoch knew his name (Moses 7), Noah knew his name (Moses 8) and even Moses knew his name and did bestowe it upon the heir of Ephraim, the son of Nun as Jehoshua (Ecclesiatical History of the Church Book I). And this pointing to that it is Jehovah who would come and Deliver or Save the people. Thus 'the name' besides and beyond Jehovah is Jehoshua, so stipulating that Jehovah would come as the Son of the most high God and Redeem mankind. This is the 'glory due unto his name', that Jehovah Saves and fulfills the purpose and work of the Father of bringing to pass the immortality and eternal life of man. And thus the Father did name him Jesus/Jehoshua before man, God's spirit children, were placed upon the earth begining with Adam. | |
  3 The voice of the LORD is upon the
awaters: the God of glory thundereth: the LORD is
upon many waters.
  4 The voice of the LORD is powerful; the voice of the LORD is full of majesty.   5 The voice of the LORD breaketh the cedars; yea, the LORD breaketh the cedars of Lebanon. |
||
  6 He maketh them also to skip like a calf;
Lebanon and Sirion like a young aunicorn.
|
||
  7 The voice of the LORD
adivideth the flames of fire.
  8 The voice of the LORD shaketh the wilderness; the LORD shaketh the wilderness of Kadesh.   9 The voice of the LORD maketh the hinds to calve, and discovereth the forests: and in his temple doth every one speak of his glory. |
||
  10 The LORD sitteth upon the
aflood; yea, the LORD sitteth bKing for
ever.
  11 The LORD will give astrength unto his people; the LORD will bless his people with bpeace. |
