To the chief Musician fo the sons of Korah, A Song upon
Alamoth*.
|
* Alamoth Alamoth means virgins and is
here used as a musical term (1 Chr. 15:20), denoting that the psalm bearing
this inscription was to be sung by soprano (female) voices.
|
  1 GOD is our
arefuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.
2 Therefore will not we fear, though the
earth be removeda, and though the
mountains be carried into the midst of the sea;
3 Though the waters thereof roar and be troubled, though the mountains shake with the swelling thereof. Selah.
|
2a though the earth be removed
Prophetically inspired speaking of earth's eventual fate, this psalm does
give the simple understanding that the Lord is God and he will prevail and be
exalted, that the city of God will be established. This is a Millennial
reference to the earth's and even God's, that is Jehovah as Jesus Christ the
king of the Millennial reign.

unto the end of the earth; he breaketh the bow, and cutteth the spear in
sunder; he burneth the chariot in the fire.

|
|

bknow that I am God: I will be
cexalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth.
