       CHAPTER 64

David prays for safety—The righteous shall be glad in heart.

To the chief Musician, A Psalm of David.
1 HEAR my voice, O God, in my prayer: preserve my life from fear of the enemy.
2 Hide me from the secret counsel of the wickeda; from the insurrection of the workers of iniquity:
3 Who whet their atongue like a sword, and bend their bows to shoot their arrows, even bbitter words:
4 That they may ashoot in secret at the perfect: suddenly do they shoot at him, and fear not.
2a the secret counsel of the wicked We live our lives unweary that the plans and objectives of various men behind closed doors and in secret do initiate and carry out much that does and will effect us negatively. Take the planning of the tabaco industry and the divestattion which it has wrought upon all of mankind. Whether to effect the public generally or individuals individually, the secret plans of coniving men to get gain and advantage over others at the expense of their victims will ever be present in this second estate of the veil of tears within which we live. How much better a world would it be it such were not the case. If the warmongers where nor at work, if those who prey upon others for their wealth and spending dollar. If all of mankind were indeed rather set to the benefit of each other rather than the tearing them down to raise oneself selfishly up. Certainly the principle of Cain to murder or take advantage of another to get gain is well and functioning in the world today. Actions are devised and taken daily which unbeknown to the unsuspecting are aimed directly at them to their demise in many a way. What a world we live in.
5 They encourage themselves in an evil matter: they commune of laying snares aprivily; they say, Who shall bsee them?
6 They search out ainiquities; they accomplish a diligent search: both the inward thought of every one of them, and the heart, is deep.
7 But God shall shoot at them with an arrow; suddenly shall they be wounded.
8 So they shall make their own tongue to afall upon themselves: all that see them shall bflee away.
9 And all men shall fear, and shall declare the awork of God; for they shall wisely consider of his doing.
10 The righteous shall be glad in the LORD, and shall atrust in him; and all the upright in heart shall glory.
