Doctine of the Father

by Don R. Hender

To most and to Israel in general there has been but one God to be worshipped. And he was and is the Lord God Jehovah, who is the same person and being as Jesus Christ, the Savior of the New Testament as well as Jehovah God of the Old Testament. From that limited perspective it is not too surpising that the uninspired minds of active intellectual innovations would conclude that there was but one God and that being a Trinity in Jesus Christ.

"For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily." ~ New Testament | Colossians 2:9

Without the further light and knowledge as held by many including King David and the prophets and even by many of the common man who did look forward to the coming of he Son of God as literally being the Son of God the Father. But I'm getting ahead of this presentation, for herein it is to begin with Jehovah being the Firstborn Spirit Son of Elohim in the distant Preexistence. In that distant preexistence Jehovah being the Firtsborn Son of Elohim in the spirit, he held the right of being the heir of the Father and was actually called, selected and appointed to be the Advocate, Intercessor, Mediator, Savior, Redeemer and much more of mankind of his generation, particularly those who were his companions that would follow after him to be his people. So was the fulness of the Godhead bodily bestowed in and upon Jehovah by Elohim?

"I answer, Yes. But there are no angels who minister to this earth but those who do belong or have belonged to it." ~ Doctrine and Covenants | Section 130:5

As difficult to some yet as simple to others, the understanding is given that God the Father, Elohim, was and is an exalted Celestial being. In the preexistance He was our Father of all our spirits and the ruling God to whom we did look. He was and is that ultimate Man of Holiness. And many of his titles have by right also been applied to Jehovah the son as the Father Himself did annoint and empower Jeovah to stand in the stead of the Father as our ministering God of this temporal fallen creation wherein were Adam and Eve first placed to live, being our created temporal parents of our mortal tabernacles.

And as set out in the previous scriptural verse, those who have been given to minister to this earth have been the spirit angels, the spirit sons and daughters of God, who do belong or have pertained unto it. That would include Jehovah as he being one of the spirit children of the Father even as we are. Yet it would exclude our Father in Heaven, He being above and beyond the state and status of being any longer one who does pertain to such as a fallen carnal temporal creation as this earth. But to visit in 'visitation' but not to personally be present to minister directly unto it. The need was there that one from among us, the spirit children of the Father, would be called and sellected to be the Father's representative to us in all things to stand in the Father's stead as set out in performances and ordiances of the temple/tabernacal of the Old Testament (Leviticus 16:32).

In the Levitical order the priests, who were appointed to conduct the cerimonies of redemption in the holy temple or tabernacle of God, did so as stipulated in the Father's stead. And they would, acting in the name of the Father, perform or make the symbolic atonement that was to represent that which the Son of God would eventually perform having so been anointed and empowered by the Father to so do. While many considered the 'father' was their priestly father after the order of father to son, it was also further the symbolic order of heaven, that it would be the Son of God who would be our Ministering God that would perform the actual atonement in the meridian of time to so do. All of those performances and ordinances were such as did forshadow the works and coming forth of the Son of God.

In the Old Testament Jehovah, the Firstborn Spirit Son of Elohim, did stand in the stead of the Father in all things, he representing the Father. It is only by, in and through Jehovah that men are saved. Both in the Old Testament and the New Testament and in the latter ending of days, that Jesus Christ - Jehovah would minister salvation in and through him and no other way. There is no other way given by which man may be saved and redeemed but through the administrations of the Lord God Jehovah who is the same as Jesus Christ. In him is the fulness of the God Head give that he my rule and be our only means to come and return unto God. He is our only Advocate, our only Intercessor, our only Mediator between mankind and Our Celestial Father and God Elohim. There is none other but false gods and false christ but him who our Father has given to be.

In Jehovah, who is Jesus Christ, is given the fullness of the powers of God, the power of the Father, Son and Holy Ghost in one. And that, that there might be but one way to return unto Heaven. That is not to say that God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Ghost are but one being, entity and person. They are not one corporally. The are but one in power, cause and purpose. And that cause and purpose is to bring to pass the immortality and eternal life of man (Moses 1:39).
