John Hender Will:



    In the Name of God Amen I John Hender of the Parish of Lanivet in the County of Cornwall yeoman being Weak in Body, but of Perfect Mind and Memory Praised be God for it Do make and Ordain this my last Will and Testament in Manner and form following, Imprimis First I Give and Bequeath my Soul to God that Gave it me and my Body to the Earth to be Decently buried at the Direction of my Executors herein after named

And as for that Portion of Worldy Goods which it hath pleased Almighty God to Lend me I Give Devise and bequeath in Manner of form following

Item I Give Devise and bequeath unto my Grandson Thomas Hender all my Tenement Called ?Dorrell Crabb? Tenement with its Appurtenances in the Village of Barlone [Burlorne] in the parish of Egloshaile of County of Corwall after my Decease

Item I Give Devise and bequeath unto my grandson William Hender All my Tenement Called Hooper Tenement with its Appurtences in the Village of Barlone [Burlorne] aforesaid after my Decease

Item I give Devise & Bequeath unto my Grandson John Hender all my tenement Call’d Blakes Tenement with its Appurtenances in the Village of Barlone [Burlorne] aforesaid after my Decease

Item I Devise & Bequeath unto my GrandDaughter Catherine Hender all my Tenement Called Petters? Tenement with its appurtenances in Barlone [Burlorne] aforesaid after my decease

Item Whereas my Son Thomas Hender is Supposed to be dead (but if not So) and he Returns home again I doe then Give Devise and bequeath unto him my said Son Thomas all my Estate in Bodwannick in the Parish of Lanivet and County aforesaid with its appurtenances after my Decease

But if my Son Thomas is dead as Supposed, I doe then Give and Bequeath my said Estate in Bodwannick aforesaid unto my beloved Wife Joan Hender after my Decease

Item I Give & bequeath unto my Grandson Richard Hender the Sum of Twenty Pounds to be paid him Immediately after my Decease by Executors herein after named.

Item I Give & bequeath unto Elizabeth ?Clinses? of the Borough of Bodmin the Sum of One Guinea to be paid her in three Months after my Decease by my Executors herein after named.

Item I Give & bequeath unto George ?Cinoisha? younger & Jenepher Clinces? Son and Daughter of Elizabeth Clinses aforesaid the Sum of one Guinea each to be paid in Three Months after my Decease by my Executors herein after named

Item I Give & bequeath unto my Son John Hender after my Decease the Sum of one Shilling a week to be paid him weekly as long as he Lives by my Executors herein after named My Will and Devise that Ralph Cole of the Parish of Withiele and John Hicks of Lanivet aforesaid do act as Guardians for all my Grand Children

Item I Give Devise &bequeath all the Rest of my Goods & Chattles not Already Given and bequeathed unto my beloved Wife Joan Hender & Ralph Cole aforesaid Share & Share alike, whom I make my whole and Sole Executors of this my last Will & Testament Revoking all other Wills by me at any time heretofore made and Executed. In Witness whereof to this my last Will and Testament I have put my Hand and Seal this Tenth dy of February One thousand Seven Hundred and Seventy four—

The before written Will of the above named John Hender Deced was Proved in Common form 30 October 1777 before the Rev. Mr Edmund Powell Clk Bachelor of Arts Saving at Ano Admion of the Goods etc of the said Deced & of all things however Concerning the said Will was Granted to Joan Hender the Widow of the Sd Deced & one of the Executorsin the same Will named / Ralph Cole the other Executor in the sd Will also named being Present in Court of ?etc Renouncing/ being first Sworn etc./Saving etc./ No Inventory
