Leslie Everett Hender -
my 13th cousin once removed
While Leslie Everett Hender and I are 13th cousins once removed, my father
Philip David Hender and Leslie Everett Hender would be simply 13th cousins
to each other straight across. And they would not only be generation matched, but it
so happens that they are both closely dated relatived to each other as well. Leslie was
born in 1898 and my dad was born in 1901, only three years apart. My dad died at the
very end of 1959 and Leslie died in 1964, 5 years apart. At their deaths Leslie would
be about 65 and my dad was 58. So both generationally and chronologically they were
well matched as well. Both lived during the time of the I and II World Wars, and
they both served in the military during that time. My dad in the USA military and Leslie
in the UK military.
