Oliver Family of Liskeard

   Cornelius Moone married Grace Body als. Oliver. That is according to the marriage record of Cornelius Moon and Grace Body, where at the bottom of which is found the note under other information that states: "Grace BODY als. OLIVER". And then when one goes to find a Grace Body, she is not to be found, but who is found is Grace Oliver, daughter of Ezekiel Oliver and Joane Hoskin and their family as follows below:

* Now Ezekiel is variously spelled: Ezachiell, Ezechiel, Ezekill, Ezechell, Ezekiell. While none are of
today's common spelling of Ezekiel, there is little doubt as to this being the same person and each of
these being his children and wife. Why the name if differentiated from Oliver to Body in Grace's case,
it is not known. But the same 'information note' is also supplied upon Ezekiell's burial record that he 
is 'als. BODY'. OLIVER on that record is spelt OLLIVER with two Ls. Upon those parish records currently 
available, neither is Ezekiel found in the baptism of OLIVER or BODY. As to the burial record of Joane, 
on her record she is boty named as 'wife of Ezekiell' and that it is 'OLIVER als. BODY'. This may be a 
way of distinguishing their other 'married' children if that same similiar not is maintained as being 
placed on their marriage records as well.

The source records used to help form this family unit are show here to the right. There is two marriage records of Cornelius Moone and Grace 'Body', and of Ezekiel Oliver and Joane Hoskin. There are also the birth record of Grace Oliver and the two death records of her parents which confirms the 'als. BODY' statement at the bottom of her marriage record with Cornelius Moone.

At present there is neither a baptism to be found for Ezekiel Oliver or Body. Yet the evidence appears to be solid that this is the family of Grace Body als. Oliver who married Cornelius Moone. After naming their first son Cornelius, Cornelius and Grace name their second son Ezekiel after Grace's father Ezekiel. The fit is there.
