"Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel... By which also ye are saved... unless ye have believed in vain. For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures" (1 Corinthians 15:1-4) | |
1358 Prophecies, Fulfillments and Signs of Jesus Christ ~ Jehovah
[NOTE: To this page there is another set of pages that are kindred unto it. It is those which lists the 'Names, Titles, Discriptions and so forth of God, for every mention of of his name or title or such, is also to be also seen as some mention of prophecy, fulfillment and/or sign of God and of Jesus Christ-Jehovah. And thus to a degree there is a redunantcy here but from just a slightly different perspective of the matter. And each is of an 'in-exhaustive nature' which the work on either most likely not of a complete stage or state as new understanding and insight does continue to accumulate, multiple and come to recognition. So one may have that which is not in the other and visa versa.]
NOW, as to God, all to Him is as one eternal round. He sees all thing from beginning to end as one continuous round. Thus it ought not be of any surprise that often God's Prophecies are therefore spoken in what has become know as the prophetic perfect tense. Whether past such as in the preexistence or Old Testament times, Present as in now or even as New Testament time, or even as Future as in tomorrow, the Millennial Day or even on into eternity from whence the ages of time is merely a 'cut' fragment out of; All is as One Eternal Round before God. And that an event that is yet to happen in man's consideration of limited perspective of 'time', may be spoken by the word of God through God's prophets as already having happened in a 'past tense' although in man's artificially cut snippet it is not yet, in God eternal perspective all is as though it has happened before him as his is the eternal perspective of all set before him as one and that what God has so seen is as it has happened as it is as it is whether in the perspective of limited 'time' perspective it is not known yet. But to God it is all known from 'beginning to end' as one eternal round. Thus some of the prophecies here may seem but 'backwards' in mens limited perspective, such as Zechariah's vision of an event which actually had already taken place in the long past preexistence of Jehovah/Jehosuha comin to stand before God the Father with Lucifer/Satan standing at the right side of Christ or Jehovah, yet on the left hand of God (Zechariah 3:1).
"The testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy" (Revelation 19:10).
"...all things must be fulfilled, which were written in the law of Moses, and in the prophets, and in the psalms, concerning me" (Jesus Christ, Luke 24:44).
"For had ye believed Moses, ye would have believed me: for he wrote of me."(Jesus Christ, John 5:46).
"To Him give all the prophets witness" (Acts 10:43).
* Note: Often the italicized words inserted by the translators and transcribers are not need and can even obscure the clearer meaning, sometimes they may help understanding. One ought to read such verses with italicized words once with and once without the added words to preceive if there is a difference in meaning obtained.
