JONADAB

The son of Shimeah David's brother. He was the friend whose subtly had suggested to Amnon the process by which he might seduce his half sister Tamar, the sister of Absolam (2 Samuel 13:4-5). This would cause Amnon's death at the command of Absolam. And it would be that same Jonadab who would stand and tell the king that not all his sons were killed but only Amnon, whose death was fixed from the day he took Tamar. The subtly in this matter suggests more than an error of passion but a plot to remove Amnon from being the heir to the kingdom (2 Samuel 13:20, 22-23, 26-30, 32).
