          •  •  •
And thou, Capernaum, which art aexalted unto heaven, shalt be brought down to bhell: for if the mighty works, which have been done in thee, had been done in Sodom, it would have remained until this day.

But I say unto you, That it shall be more tolerable for the land of aSodom in the day of judgment, than for thee.

  • Mark 1:32-34

And at even, when the sun did set, they brought unto him all that were diseased, and them that were possessed with devils.

And all the city was gathered together at the door.

And he ahealed many that were sick of divers diseases, and cast out many bdevils; and csuffered not the devils to speak, because they knew him.

  • Luke 7:1-10

NOW when he had ended all his sayings in the audience of the people, he entered into Capernaum.

And a certain centurion’s servant, who was dear unto him, was sick, and ready to die.

And when he heard of Jesus, he sent unto him the elders of the Jews, beseeching him that he would come and heal his servant.

And when they came to Jesus, they besought him ainstantly, saying, That he was worthy for whom he should do this:

For he loveth our nation, and he hath built us a synagogue.

Then Jesus went with them. And when he was now not far from the house, the centurion sent friends to him, saying unto him, Lord, trouble not thyself: for I am not worthy that thou shouldest enter under my roof:

Wherefore neither thought I myself worthy to come unto thee: but say in a word, and my servant shall be healed.

For I also am a man set under authority, having under me soldiers, and I say unto one, Go, and he goeth; and to another, Come, and he cometh; and to my servant, Do this, and he doeth it.

When Jesus heard these things, he marvelled at him, and turned him about, and said unto the people that followed him, I say unto you, I have not found so great faith, no, not in aIsrael.

And they that were sent, returning to the house, found the servant whole that had been sick.

  • Mark 1:21, 29-31

And they went into Capernaum; and straightway on the sabbath day he entered into the synagogue, and ataught.

          •  •  •
And forthwith, when they were come out of the synagogue, they entered into the house of Simon and Andrew, with James and John.

But Simon’s wife’s mother lay sick of a fever, and aanon they tell him of her.

And he came and took her by the hand, and alifted her up; and immediately the fever left her, and she ministered unto them.

  • Mark 2:1-12

AND again he entered into Capernaum after some days; and it was noised that he was ain the house.

And straightway many were gathered together, insomuch that there was no room to receive them, no, not so much as about the door: and he apreached the word unto them.

And they come unto him, bringing one sick of the palsy, which was aborne of four.

And when they could not come nigh unto him for the press, they uncovered the roof where he was: and when they had broken it up, they let down the bed wherein the sick of the palsy lay.

When Jesus saw their faith, he said unto the sick of the palsy, Son, thy sins be aforgiven thee.

But there were certain of the scribes sitting there, and reasoning in their hearts,

Why doth this man thus speak ablasphemies? who can forgive sins but God only?

And immediately when Jesus perceived in his spirit that they so reasoned within themselves, he said unto them, Why reason ye these things in your hearts?

Whether is it easier to say to the sick of the palsy, Thy sins be forgiven thee; or to say, Arise, and take up thy bed, and walk?

But that ye may know that the aSon of man hath power on earth to forgive sins, (he saith to the sick of the palsy,)

I say unto thee, aArise, and take up thy bbed, and go thy way into thine house.

And immediately he arose, took up the bed, and went forth before them all; insomuch that they were all amazed, and glorified God, saying, We never saw it on this fashion.

  • Matt. 12:9-13

And when he was departed thence, he went into their synagogue:

¶ And, behold, there was a man which had his hand withered. And they asked him, saying, Is it lawful to heal on the sabbath days? that they might accuse him.

And he said unto them, What man shall there be among you, that shall have one sheep, and if it fall into a pit on the sabbath day, will he not lay hold on it, and lift it out?

How much then is a man better than a sheep? Wherefore it is lawful to do well on the sabbath days.

Then saith he to the man, Stretch forth thine hand. And he stretched it forth; and it was restored whole, like as the other.

  • Mark 1:21-28, 32-34

And they went into Capernaum; and straightway on the sabbath day he entered into the synagogue, and ataught.

And they were astonished at his doctrine: for he taught them as one that had aauthority, and not as the bscribes.

And there was in their synagogue a man with an aunclean spirit; and he cried out,

Saying, Let us alone; awhat have we to do with thee, thou Jesus of Nazareth? art thou come to destroy us? I know thee who thou art, the bHoly One of God.

And Jesus arebuked him, saying, Hold thy peace, and come out of him.

And when the unclean spirit had atorn him, and cried with a loud voice, he came out of him.

And they were all amazed, insomuch that they questioned among themselves, saying, What thing is this? what new doctrine is this? for with aauthority commandeth he even the unclean spirits, and they do obey him.

And immediately his fame spread abroad throughout all the region round about Galilee.

          •  •  •
And at even, when the sun did set, they brought unto him all that were diseased, and them that were possessed with devils.

And all the city was gathered together at the door.

And he ahealed many that were sick of divers diseases, and cast out many bdevils; and csuffered not the devils to speak, because they knew him.

  • Mark 5:22-24, 35-43

And, behold, there cometh one of the rulers of the synagogue, Jairus by name; and when he saw him, he fell at his feet,

And besought him greatly, saying, My little daughter lieth at the point of death: I pray thee, come and lay thy ahands on her, that she may be healed; and she shall live.

And Jesus went with him; and much people followed him, and thronged him.

          •  •  •
While he yet spake, there came from the ruler of the synagogue’s house certain which said, Thy daughter is dead: why troublest thou the Master any further?

As soon as Jesus heard the word that was spoken, he saith unto the ruler of the synagogue, Be not afraid, only abelieve.

And he suffered no man to follow him, save Peter, and James, and John the brother of James.

And he cometh to the house of the ruler of the synagogue, and seeth the tumult, and them that wept and wailed greatly.

And when he was come in, he saith unto them, Why make ye this aado, and weep? the damsel is not dead, but sleepeth.

And they alaughed him to scorn. But when he had put them all out, he taketh the father and the mother of the damsel, and them that were with him, and entereth in where the damsel was lying.

And he took the damsel by the hand, and said unto her, Talitha cumi; which is, being interpreted, Damsel, I say unto thee, aarise.

And straightway the damsel aarose, and walked; for she was of the age of twelve years. And they were astonished with a great astonishment.

And he acharged them straitly that no man should know it; and commanded that something should be given her to eat.

  • John 6:24-59

When the people therefore saw that Jesus was not there, neither his disciples, they also took shipping, and came to Capernaum, seeking for Jesus.

And when they had found him on the other side of the sea, they said unto him, Rabbi, when camest thou hither?

Jesus answered them and said, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Ye seek me, anot because ye saw the miracles, but because ye did eat of the loaves, and were filled.

aLabour not for the meat which perisheth, but for that meat which endureth unto everlasting life, which the bSon of man shall give unto you: for him hath God the Father csealed.

Then said they unto him, What shall we do, that we might work the works of God?

Jesus answered and said unto them, This is the work of God, that ye abelieve on him whom he hath sent.

They said therefore unto him, What asign shewest thou then, that we may see, and believe thee? what dost thou work?

Our fathers did eat manna in the desert; as it is written, He gave them abread from heaven to eat.

Then Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Moses gave you not that bread from heaven; but my Father giveth you the true bread from heaven.

For the bread of God is he which cometh down from heaven, and giveth life unto the world.

Then said they unto him, Lord, evermore give us this bread.

And Jesus said unto them, I am the abread of life: he that cometh to me shall never hunger; and he that believeth on me shall never bthirst.

But I said unto you, That ye also have seen me, and believe not.

All that the Father agiveth me shall come to me; and him that cometh to me I will in no wise bcast out.

For I acame down from heaven, not to do mine own bwill, but the cwill of him that sent me.

And this is the aFather’s bwill which hath sent me, that of all which he hath given me I should lose cnothing, but should draise it up again at the last day.

And this is the will of him that sent me, that every one which seeth the Son, and abelieveth on him, may have beverlasting life: and I will raise him up cat the last day.

The Jews then murmured at him, because he said, I am the bread which came down from heaven.

And they said, Is not this Jesus, the son of aJoseph, whose father and mother we know? how is it then that he saith, I came down from heaven?

Jesus therefore answered and said unto them, aMurmur not among yourselves.

aNo man can bcome to me, except the Father which hath sent me cdraw him: and I will raise him up at the last day.

It is written in the prophets, And they shall be all ataught of God. Every man therefore that hath heard, and hath learned of the bFather, cometh unto me.

Not that any man hath seen the Father, save he which is of God, he hath aseen the Father.

Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that abelieveth on me hath beverlasting life.

I am that bread of life.

Your fathers did eat amanna in the wilderness, and are dead.

This is the bread which cometh down from heaven, that a man may eat thereof, and not die.

I am the living abread which came down from heaven: if any man eat of this bread, he shall live for ever: and the bbread that I will give is my cflesh, which I will dgive for the elife of the world.

The Jews therefore strove among themselves, saying, How can this man give us his flesh to eat?

Then Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except ye aeat the flesh of the bSon of man, and drink his blood, ye have no life in you.

Whoso eateth my aflesh, and drinketh my bblood, hath eternal life; cand I will draise him up at the last day.

For my flesh is meat indeed, and my blood is drink indeed.

He that eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, adwelleth in me, and I in him.

As the living Father hath asent me, and I live by the Father: so he that eateth me, even he shall blive by me.

This is that bread which came down from heaven: not as your fathers did eat manna, and are dead: he that eateth of this bread shall live for ever.

These things said he in the synagogue, as he taught in Capernaum.

  • Matt. 17:24-27

¶ And when they were come to Capernaum, they that received tribute money came to Peter, and said, Doth not your master pay atribute?

He saith, Yes. And when he was come into the house, Jesus aprevented him, saying, What thinkest thou, Simon? of whom do the bkings of the earth take custom or tribute? of their own children, or of strangers?

Peter saith unto him, Of strangers. Jesus saith unto him, Then are the children free.

Notwithstanding, lest we should offend them, go thou to the sea, and cast an hook, and take up the fish that first cometh up; and when thou hast opened his mouth, thou shalt find a piece of amoney: that take, and bgive unto them for me and thee.
