All this terrain is part of the Mediterranean island to which John the Revelator was banished (see Rev. 1:9).

An island in the Aegean Sea to which John was banished (Rev. 1:9). According to tradition, he worked there in the marble quarries.
Significant Events:
John saw the great vision known as the Apocalypse (book of Revelation). The Lord told him to send it to the seven churches in Asia (Rev. 1:11). (See Bible Dictionary, “Patmos.”)
