- Ps. 76:2
In Salem also is his tabernacle, and his dwelling place in Zion.

- Gen. 14:18-20
And aMelchizedek king of bSalem brought forth cbread and wine: dand he was the epriest of the most high God.

And he blessed him, and said, aBlessed be Abram of the most high bGod, cpossessor of heaven and earth:

And ablessed be the most high God, which hath delivered thine enemies into thy hand. And he gave him btithes of all.

- Gen. 22:2-14
And he said, aTake now thy son, thine bonly son Isaac, whom thou clovest, and get thee into the land of dMoriah; and offer him there for a burnt offering upon one of the mountains which I will tell thee of.

¶ And Abraham rose up early in the morning, and saddled his ass, and took two of his young men with him, and Isaac his son, and clave the awood for the burnt offering, and rose up, and went unto the place of which God had told him.

Then on the third day Abraham lifted up his eyes, and saw the place afar off.

And Abraham said unto his young men, Abide ye here with the ass; and I and the lad will go yonder and aworship, and come again to you.

And Abraham took the wood of the burnt offering, and alaid it upon Isaac his son; and he took the fire in his hand, and a knife; and they went both of them together.

And Isaac spake unto Abraham his father, and said, My father: and he said, aHere am I, my son. And he said, Behold the fire and the wood: but where is the lamb for a burnt offering?

And Abraham said, My son, God will provide himself a alamb for a burnt offering: so they went both of them together.

And they came to the place which God had told him of; and Abraham built an altar there, and alaid the wood in order, and bound Isaac his son, and laid him on the baltar upon the wood.

And Abraham stretched forth his hand, and took the knife to slay his son.

And the angel of the LORD called unto him out of heaven, and said, Abraham, Abraham: and he said, Here am I.

And he said, aLay not thine hand upon the lad, neither do thou any thing unto him: for now I know that thou bfearest God, seeing thou hast not cwithheld thy son, thine only son from me.

And Abraham lifted up his eyes, and looked, and behold behind him a ram caught in a thicket by his horns: and Abraham went and took the ram, and offered him up for a burnt offering in the stead of his son.

And Abraham called the name of that place aJehovah-jireh: as it is said to this day, bIn the mount of the LORD it shall be seen.

- 2 Sam. 5:4-9
¶ David was thirty years old when he began to areign, and he breigned forty years.

In Hebron he reigned over aJudah seven years and six months: and in Jerusalem he breigned thirty and three years over all Israel and Judah.

¶ And the king and his men went to Jerusalem unto the aJebusites, the inhabitants of the land: which spake unto David, saying, Except thou take away the blind and the lame, thou shalt not come in hither: thinking, David cannot come in hither.

Nevertheless David took the strong hold of aZion: the same is the bcity of David.

And David said on that day, Whosoever getteth up to the gutter, and smiteth the aJebusites, and the lame and the blind, that are hated of Davids soul, he shall be chief and captain. Wherefore they said, The blind and the lame shall not come into the house.

So David dwelt in the fort, and called it the acity of David. And David built round about from bMillo and inward.

- 1 Ne. 1:4
For it came to pass in the commencement of the afirst year of the reign of bZedekiah, king of Judah, (my father, Lehi, having dwelt at cJerusalem in all his days); and in that same year there came many dprophets, prophesying unto the people that they must erepent, or the great city fJerusalem must be destroyed.

Jesus rides in triumph into JerusalemHe cleanses the temple, curses the fig tree, and discusses authorityHe gives the parables of the two sons, and the wicked husbandmen.
- JS-M 1:3-20
And Jesus said unto them: See ye not all these things, and do ye not understand them? Verily I say unto you, there shall not be left here, upon this temple, one astone upon another that shall not be thrown down.

And Jesus left them, and went upon the Mount of Olives. And as he sat upon the Mount of Olives, the disciples came unto him privately, saying: Tell us when shall these things be which thou hast said concerning the destruction of the temple, and the Jews; and what is the asign of thy bcoming, and of the cend of the world, or the destruction of the dwicked, which is the end of the world?

And Jesus answered, and said unto them: Take heed that no man deceive you;

For many shall come in my name, sayingI am aChristand shall deceive many;

Then shall they deliver you up to be aafflicted, and shall kill you, and ye shall be bhated of all nations, for my names sake;

And then shall many be aoffended, and shall betray one another, and shall hate one another;

And many afalse prophets shall arise, and shall deceive many;

And because iniquity shall abound, the alove of many shall wax cold;

But he that remaineth asteadfast and is not overcome, the same shall be saved.

When you, therefore, shall see the aabomination of bdesolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, concerning the destruction of cJerusalem, then you shall stand in the dholy place; whoso readeth let him understand.

Then let them who are in Judea flee into the amountains;

Let him who is on the housetop flee, and not return to take anything out of his house;

Neither let him who is in the field return back to take his clothes;

And wo unto them that are with achild, and unto them that give suck in those days;

Therefore, pray ye the Lord that your flight be not in the winter, neither on the Sabbath day;

For then, in those days, shall be great atribulation on the bJews, and upon the inhabitants of cJerusalem, such as was not before sent upon Israel, of God, since the beginning of their kingdom until this time; no, nor ever shall be sent again upon Israel.

All things which have befallen them are only the beginning of the sorrows which shall come upon them.

And except those days should be shortened, there should none of their flesh be asaved; but for the elects sake, according to the bcovenant, those days shall be shortened.

In the final great war, all nations shall be engaged at Jerusalem but the Lord shall defend his peopleThen the Jews shall look upon Jesus whom they crucified, and there shall be great mourning.
- D&C 45:48-53
And then shall the Lord set his foot upon this amount, and it shall cleave in twain, and the earth shall btremble, and reel to and fro, and the cheavens also dshall shake.

And the Lord shall utter his voice, and all the ends of the earth shall hear it; and the nations of the earth shall amourn, and they that have blaughed shall see their cfolly.

And calamity shall cover the amocker, and the scorner shall be consumed; and they that have watched for iniquity shall be hewn down and bcast into the cfire.

And then shall the aJews blook upon me and say: What are these cwounds in thine hands and in thy feet?

Then shall they know that I am the Lord; for I will say unto them: These wounds are the wounds with which I was awounded in the house of my friends. I am he who was lifted up. I am Jesus that was bcrucified. I am the cSon of God.

And then shall they aweep because of their iniquities; then shall they blament because they cpersecuted their dking.
