In the Old Testament, the son of King Solomon. He succeeded his father and reigned for seventeen years in Jerusalem (1 Kgs. 11: 43; 14: 21, 31). During Rehoboams reign, the kingdom was divided into the kingdom of Israel in the north and the kingdom of Judah in the south (1 Kgs. 11: 31-36; 12: 19-20). Rehoboam ruled over the kingdom of Judah.
