AARON, CITY OF

[A number of Book of Mormon scholars have quickly assumed the possibly two different cities of Aaron. But the Book of Mormon gives no factual basis for this interpretive assumption. A greater dissection of the informational evidence of the Book of Mormon can be seen to conclude that Alma was pursuing a mission to each of the provincial land regions of the nation of Zarahemla and the related 7 churches of the Church of God found therein, their 'Stake Centers' so to speak. In doing so Alma would go to the 'chief city' of each 'provincial land', such as Gideon, Melek and Ammonihah, and begin by meeting with the chief authorities and heads of the provincial land and church in each of the lands. As is church policy, the church does not proselyte in a land where the authorities of that land have not given their sanction. Thus when Alma was rejected and cast out of Ammonihah by the chief judge and the authorities of that land, Alma would not have proceeded to do any further proselyting in the other cities, towns or villiages within that province as it would have been against the law of the land, not to mention detremental to his health. Thus, when it was Alma's intent to porceed to the city of Aaron, he was totally leaving the province of Ammonihah ruled over by the chief judge of that land to travel a great distance to an eastern province governed by the city of Aaron. Alma had covered the center of the land in the Zarahemla and Gideon provinces and churches, and now having covered the western provinces of the national land, the provinces of Melek and Ammonihah, Alma was intent on leaving the western regions of the nation of Zarahemla and was actually going to journey over to the eastern provinces of the nation, were in fact is just where the city of Aaron was so located, in the east of the greater nation of Zarahemla. ]

Alma 8: 13-14 Aaron was NOT in vicinity of Ammonihah. It was Alma's intent to leave the western regions of the land, having been 'legally' expelled and rejected by the chief judge of that remaining western province of Ammonihah and to next travel on over and into to the eastern regions of the land. Alma had already previously covered the central region of the Zarahemla province and Gideon (see further explanatory note above).
Alma 50: 14 Aaron's location was near cities of Moroni and Nephihah in the sense that Aaron, Nephihah and Moroni was set up by Captain Moroni as a southeastern line of defense across the Great Eastern Plains from the foothills of Aaron to he sea east of the there constructed city of Moroni, Nehpihad being centered between in the midst of the 'plain' of Nephihah.
