TOPICAL GUIDE JESUS CHRIST, FATHER, The
There are at least three aspects of Christ in which he can be considered the Father.
1 ~ Christ is the Father in that he is the 'Author' or 'Father' of
Creation. God our heveanly Father empowered Jehovah and under the direction
of our heavenly Father, Jehovah organized, created, produced, was the active
force which did make heaven and earth, thus He is the Father of heaven and of
the earth.
2 ~ Christ is the Father in that he was elected by God the Father to act for
and in behalf of God the Father as the mediator, advocate, savior and
representative of the Father in all things. Being given the fulness of the
Father and his power of priesthood and of attorney, to act 'as', 'for' and
'on behalf of' the Father by that 'divine investiture' whereby they do work
in concert one with the other to form the position of 'God the Father'
through the mediation and advocancy of the Son between man and the Father,
with the Holy Ghost also taking part to form the oneness of God, the Father.
Christ ministers to the needs of those of this second estate as the 'Father'
for the 'Father' representing the 'Father' and the three, Father, Son and
Holy Ghost acting as One God, bring to pass the immortality and eternal life
of man. Christ is 'God the Father', Jehovah, God of the Old Testament, as
well as the Son Jesus Christ. This is the only way whereby man may return
to God and Christ essentially performs as the 'Father' in all things unto man.
3 ~ Christ becomes our 'Gospel Father' in that through the ordiance of rebirth
or baptism, we become the sons and daughters of Christ. It is through and
by his atonement that we are 'fathered' from the fall into the Kingdom of
God and God's Glory.
