"Ye were also in the beginning with the Father; that which is Spirit, even the Spirit of truth;
"And truth is knowledge of things as they are, and as they were, and as they are to come;
"And whatsoever is more or less than this is the spirit of that wicked one who was a liar from the beginning." ~ D&C Section 93:23-25 ~

Now the 'Spirit of Truth' is that Intelligence which has no beginning and is infinitely eternal and co-eternal with the Father, it being common to the Father and man. It is not the same as the Spirit Body of the Spirit birth of, by and through the Father, but it is that Spirit of Intelliegce and Truth the is united with the Spirit Body that has actual individual form and when the two are united in that Spirit birth that unites them, they become the living Soul of the individual person and entity of man/woman.

The convergence of the Eternal Intelligence common to God and man with man's Spirit Body form as the living Soul of the individual brings together in one a definable personal entity of a co-eternal being of man and God. The Spirit Body has the same form as one sees in the natural body of flesh and bone. Head, shoulders, knees and toes - Eyes, ears, mouth and nose - they are in the same form as the terporal tabernacle of man. That tabernacle being a form fitting to the spirit of man.

Now the intelligence or mind of man, beginning from its central location (cerebral cortex or CPU) does spread throughout the form and shape of a body. In the case of the original primary 'Soul' of man, this extends throughout the form and shape of the spirit body. Here we may consider the form and shape of any such creature's intelligence being confined to and within the shape and form of any such living structure, plant, animal or what have you. From the central mind/brain of a dog, the nurological extention of the intelligence of a dog expands through the same and form of that dog. And the input or feedback systems of such structure of a man relies upon its 'senses,' such as sight, hearing, feeling (touch), tasting, smelling and whatever other senses that such may have. It is said that man has a sixth sense, an intuative sense or even a spirit related sense that allows a man to commune directly from one spirit entity to another. Physically we know of the 5 senses. But intellectually - spiritually we know little about except what we are taught from the scriptures, by prophets, or by inspiration of the spirit that we may receive ourselves.

The Prophet Joseph Smith has told us that if a spirit of a man were sitting beside the physical body of that man and both were seen, they would look in shape and form to be the same. That is such as the spirit body of a man has ears just as the physical body of a man does. And just as the natural physical ears of a man do hear, so does the spirit ears hear. I can testify to that. For I have heard with my spirit hears things which my natural physical ears could not have heard. I have heard that which no one else in the room did hear but myself. I will witness to that. Joseph Smith would too. In the upper loft sleeping room shared with his sleeping brothers, Joseph Smith saw and heard that which his brothers did not when the Angel Moroni appeared unto him. And in the Kirtland Temple, Joseph Smith and Oliver Cowdery saw and heard that which others in the temple room did not. And at the Johnson home, Joseph Smith and Sidney Rigdon saw and heard that which others did not hear when receiving the 76th section of the Doctrine and Covenants. My second great grandfather was in the room upon that occasion and witnessed Joseph and Sidney conversing between themselves as to what they were seeing and hearing which others in the room did not see nor hear. And how did they do that? The short answer is by the use of their spirit eyes and ears.
