CHARLES Pearce/Pearse Tonkin was born about 1809 and Chirstian baptized on 10 Februar 1809 at Bodmin Parish. He married twice. First he married Jane Menhennett/Menhinnett Benney/Banney on 23 January 1837 at Bodmin. Jane died in January about two years latter in 1839 at age 27. This let Charles a widower. Thus on 27 April 1840, Charles married his second wife, Mary Martin/Martyn Pascoe at the Hellland Parish. Together they had a known family of 8 children, the 7 eldest all being daughters.
