Thomas Bartley and Elizabeth Benny Cousin FamilyThis Elizabeth Benny seems to be the daugther of Tinothy or Timothy & Grace Benny of Newlyn East. I do not find a Tinothy or Timothy Benny to trace. Neither do I find any other children by this couple. An alternative spouse would be Elizabeth Benny, daughter of William Benny baptism 28 January 1664 in St Columb Minor. Then her parents would be William Benny and Jane/Joane Perkins. And she would be a cousin as that William Benny is the son of William Benny and Mary Pearce? our 8th great grandparents (see Benny Family). William Bartley and Prudence Giles Cousin FamilyPrudence Giles would appear to be the daughter of Stephen and Elizabeth Giles of Roche. That would explain the entrance of the name Stephen into the family for her to name a son after her father Stephen Giles. Roche is also in the direction of Laniet and Bodmin where it may be that the family moves. Withiel also stands as a step from Roche toward Bodmin as well as it moves the family north before likely heading west to Bodmin. If so Prudence may have died there a spinster. Etc. |
Richarde James and Anne Barthly Cousin Family*Richarde James = Anne Barthly/Bartley | cb 8 Dec 1644 | St Columb Minor m 17 Jun 1671 | St Columb Mnr | ?d bef 1683? | ?bur 13 Mar 1683 | St Columb Minor | (Wid.burd in Wool) _____________________|_________________________ | | | Thomas James John James Prudence James cb 21 Apr 1672 cb 27 Jun 1675 cb 2 Feb 1678 St Columb Mnr St Columb Mnr St Columb Mnr * This whole family seems to just disapear. There are no local marriages, burials or anything except perhaps the passing of an Ann James a widow. But that is not for sure the widow of Richard James for there is not Richard James record of death locally either. |
Now as stated, there seems to be some type of colapse of the St Columb Minor area as to deaths and families just up and leaving, that is 'disappearing' from the St Columb Minor scene. There is one line of Henry Bartleys which I am not able to place as to their family origin. There is a Henry Bartley and his wife Sarah, perhaps of the William Nuton family Henry? They have six children Blanch (1697), Elizabeth (1699), Thomasin (1702), Grace (1707), Henry (1710) and Hugh (1715) all of Lanlivery Rural. But that is a jump from St Columb Minor that could have also come from a number of other perhaps more likely places. Henry and Hugh both of this family seem to further have families of their own but to follow them is not to knowingly follow any of our 'cousins'. There are also a couple of Alexander Bartleys who turn up in the 1700 in Lanlivery Rural, but again putting together through and by whom they get there from St Columb and Newlyn area is not apparant. I guess I could put together a page on 'possible cousins'. I'll have to think about that. |
