           CHAPTER 15

Moab shall be laid wast and her people shall howl and weep.

  1 THE aburden of bMoab. Because in the night cAr of Moab is laid waste, and brought to silence; because in the night Kir of dMoab is laid waste, and brought to silence;
  2 He is gone up to Bajith, and to Dibon, the high places, to weep: Moab shall howl over Nebo, and over Medeba: on all their heads shall be abaldness, and every beard bcut offa.
  3 In their streets they shall gird themselves with sackcloth: on the tops of their houses, and in their streets, every one shall howl, weeping abundantly.
 2a on all their heads shall be baldness, and every beard cut off This is representation of shame and reproach to be made bald and beardless. Since the burden is associated with the time of the gathering in of Israel, when the Lord remembers his covenant with Israel, the question becomes is the baldness and beardless state merely symbolic or literal. And if literal is it a product of being shaved by man or is it the result of the type of destruction to come upon them, such as radiation from atomic warfare?  1a Ezra 5:1
