William West and Wife Ann's Family as Deduced(See #3 Above DNA Test) William West Sr = Ann b 1780* | b 1784 | NC | | | | | _________________________|_______________________________ | | | | Ann Eliza West Rhoda(Rodea) West William West Jr Benjamin J. West b 1812 b 1816 b 1818 b 1826 NC NC NC NC m 13 Feb 1834 m 17 Nov 1836 m 14 Jan 1844 = Polly [Sarah Ann] Cannady* NC NC Tyrrell NC | = James M Barnes = Luther Sexton = Amelia/Milly James Henry West (see Barnes Familey) Tarkington * From the two Census records of 1830 and 1840 concerning William West, in 1830 it places his age range from (40&<50) and then in 1840 it place his age range from (60&<70). But the only way this could be possible is if William was born in the year 1780 and in the one census it caught him early just before his birthday while he was sitll just 49 and thus still less than 50 by just a matter of some days or a few weeks. Then the next year they caught him late, after his birth date, and thus he was just bearly 60 and in the range of 60 to 70. * Marriage Bond reads Benjamin West and Polly Cannady m 15 Mar 1845. The 'C' likely is 'K' and Kennedy. Beating the Bushes for Another West Son Family FitThis family would have other children: Because of the use of Asa West in William Jr. family there is a question concerning The Asa West family, Asa age 67 (b 1813) in 1880, wife Fanny age 59, dau Caroline age 26, dau Mary Eliza. age 15, and grandson William Learey age 4. 1870-Asa West family Asa age 51, Fannie age 50, Lucinda age 26, Sarah age 25, Balinda age 23, Spencer age 21, Francis age 17, Nancy age 16, William age 12, Mary age 7 [this second Asa West other than wife Fannie, has children's names all over the place, none of which matches the Asa West Family of 1880. (However they might be the same if Caroline age 26 in 1880 is Nancy Caroline of age 16 in 1870 and Mary age 7 in 1870 is Mary age 15 in 1880. Then not so far off with elder siblings no longer in the home nest. BUT then in 1860 the Asa West family seems to fall out of contention with Asa age 47, Francis (Fannie/Fanny) age 39, Lucinda age 17, Elizabeth age 14, Belinda age 12, Spencer age 11, Frances Ann age 7, Caroline age 6, and John age 1. Asa would have to fit in the gap between Ann Eliza and Rhoda at about 1813, age 47, 57 (not 51) and 67. John age 1 would have to likely decease prior to 1870. And again by 1880 all siblings gone except for Nancy / Nancy Caroline and Mary. In 1850 Asa West 37, Frances 28, Lucindy age 7, Sarah E, age 4, Belindy age 2, Spence age 1 and a Elizabeth West age 19 living with them, perhaps a sister of Asa. But no room for a younger sister in family structure and Asa is living next door to Allen West which now seems to place him associated with a different West family line. There is a Joseph West family which could fill in for the youngest West son, William Jr. b 1818, Benjamin born b 1825, and Joseph West b 1822 who could fit in the youngest son's sloght. Joseph is age 28 in 1850, wife Ann is 32 and daughter pricilla is 4mo but does he? In 1860, Joseph age 39, Ann 42, Priscilla age 10, Elizabeth age 8, Solomon age 6, Nathan age 5, and james age 2 and then the eliminator, Isaac West living with them age 71 seems to remove him from William West's immediate family. So again we seem to be back at only two producing sons William and Benjamin West.

William West Sr and his wife Ann would be one set of my 3rd Great Grandpartents, the other two William West family families, his proven ancestor by Y Chromozone DNA testing would the be my 4th and 5th such Great Grand Parents. That provided DNA male line skeletal frame provides a beginning place upon which to build. Some work to be done for sure, but a line which was at a stop is now again open three generations back by way of both DNA testing and Census records analysis and deduction.
