Birth and Parentage

This Arthur Peter could be one of two Arthur Peters of the Peter Family of Launceston as recorded on the Peter Family page.

The first Arthur Peter would be the 6th child, and second by the name of Arthur as the first so named child had died, of John Peter and Rebeckah Isack. This John Peter was the son of Arthur Peter and Mary Stanton, who in turn was the son of John Peter and Honor Daw.

This Arthur Peter of this will, was baptised on the 10th of September, 1703 at Northhill. He married a Mary, whom I make Mary Luskey the daughter of John Luskey and Elizabeth Reed. This marriage occured on the 23rd of October, 1730 at Northhill. This would make this Arthur Peter about age 70 at his death in 1773 as prescribed above in conjunction with this will. The relivance of the named children in the will of this family seem to be Elizabeth Peter named after her grandmother Elizabeth Reed, Rebeckah Peter named after her grandmother Rebeckah Isack, and Arthur Peter named after his father and grandfather Arthur Peter. This seems to be a likely family combination.

This would make Elizabeth, Rebeckah, and Arthur the children of this family my cousins, as Mary Luskey their mother is one of my distant cousins from my Lusky family tie-in through the marriage of John Hender and Grace Luskey.

The second Arthur Peter possibility would be the first Arthur Peter's nephew, who was baptised 1717-18. He also is listed as marrying a Mary. He, however, is an unlikely candidate as his death is listed as occuring in 1749 per other sources.
