4 Remember ye the law of Moses, my servant, which I commanded unto
him in aHoreb for all Israel, with the statutes and
judgmentsa.
|
4a the statutes and judgments Frequently the concept that the whole of the Law of Moses was done away with in Christ's fulfilment of it. Those who consider this do not understand the fulfilment of the law. For the fulfilment in Christ was in those things, those performances and sacrifices and ordinances which did specifically point unto His coming, His work and His atonement. That is the 'Law of Performances which is fulfilled. But as to the statutes and judgments, as to the laws, commandments, precepts and principles and the judgements of God, all of these are to be remembered and kept by man. Such is the nature of the ten commandments and the great commandments of God. They are to be kept and remembered forever. They are a part of the unchangable nature of God and the principles of eternity. What was fulfilled was the performance of animal sacrifices which performances and ordinances where for the sole purpose of pointing men unto Christ. But since the Jewish did loose sight of the forest because of the trees, for since the Jewish took more pleasure in the performance of the act rather than looking to what it did represnt to come, the Jewish did not understand what of the Law of Moses was fulfilled and they confused the matter by the fact of their own corrupted belief in the coming Messiah, the Son of God to the salvation of the earth.. |
