MANY have been 'likened' unto and are in the similitude of the Firstborn Son of God the Father. Some have even borne as their own name one of the many names by which our LORD is known. Such was the case of Melchizedek, David and Joshua. They not only were a 'likeness' and similitude of the Lord, they were known by one of His names. One of the names of the Lord is 'the prince of peace' which is a meaning given to the name of Melchizedek. One of the names of the Lord is 'Beloved' or 'David', which is the very meaning of the name David. It means 'beloved'. And so also was Joshua or Jehoshua so named after one of the most Holy names of the Lord by which he would be named during his mortal ministry. The Greek tranliterated equivalent is JESUS. That name means Jehovah Saves, Jehovah Redeems or Jehovah Delivers, which is given the phrase meaning that ' Jehovah is Salvation' or 'In Jehovah is found Salvation'. In the last days when Christ returns at His Second Coming, he will claim His name David, and he will be that King David, the Beloved of the Father who will rule and reign over the Earth as its Lord and God. In this Messianic Psalm, the parallelism of David the Ephrathite son of Jesse being likened unto David, the Beloved Son of God the Father is an interesting interweaving, which takes a full understanding that one of Jehovah's names is David and it is He who is the one about which much of the parallelism is stated about and not merely about King David the son of Jesse. |
I AM DAVID, the 'BELOVED' of the FATHER after whom David the Son of Jesse the Ephrathite was named and likened unto Me. This is the challenge to all the children of the Father, to so become like unto Me and be even as I AM and the FATHER IS. And it is possible that fallen man may become even AS GOD IS, if he will but repent of his sins and keep My commandments in deed and in his heart, thus becoming one in righteousness with Me and the Father being justified by grace. |
ALSO, sad but true, King David the son of Jesse, does not live up to his being likened unto the Savior of Mankind, as he falters and fails, being entrapped by sin and in many cases abusing his power of being king. And though the Jews do highly revere King David and continue to pronounce praises upon him, King David has lost his great reward in the Kingdom to Come. And though King David did fail as a human plagued by a number of grevious sins, one positive aspect to King David's life is that he never did forget the Lord, nor turn completely from Him. Thus, unlike the murderer Cain and others, King David will gain a forgiveness but not a Kingdom of Glory. In this he is not a Son of Perdition. |

CHAPTER 89
A Messianic Psalm—A song setting forth the mercy, greatness, justice, and judgment of the Holy One of Israel—David's seed and throne (through Christ) to be established forever—God's Firstborn made higher than the kings of the earth. |
This Messianic Psalm speaks of Jesus, alias David, throughout—It
yields an overview from Anointed Creator to the Ministering Jesus
to the ruling King David of judgement and justice in the
latter days—Jesus' (David's) seed, the faithful in His Gospel to be
established forever— Jehovah~Jesus~David, has and will be made higher than all the kings of the earth. |
Psalms 89 is one of the most pointed scriptural chapters which ties the Son of God together from the beginning of being the anointed Son and Creator, to being Jesus Christ our Redeemer, to being that King David, the Messiah of the Millennial Reign and our final Judge of the Judgement of God. |

1 I WILL sing of the mercies of the LORDa for ever: with my mouth will I make known thy afaithfulness to all generations. |
1a I will sing of the mercies of the LORD Much of the writings of the ancients from Adam have been lost. Abraham still had possession of the record of Adam in his day as stated in the Book of Abraham (see Abraham 1:28-31). It was not until much corruption and the captivity of Babylon that the Jewish did compile the records we know of as the Torah and Old Testament Bible. By then the more ancient records had been lost and what was left was only found during the days of Josiah as the Law and Record of Moses in the temple. Thus our Bible scriptures begin with the five books of Moses, though there is evidence that such writings as a Book of Enoch was still about and referenced by the Jews. And though we do not have the written records of the writings of Adam, Enoch, Noah, Abraham, Joseph and others, we do seem to have some such remembrances from these more ancient scriptures saved in the hymns of the Psalms of Israel. Like most hymns of praise, these hymns would have been based upon scripture as they would qoute and paraphrase the scriptural writings and committing them to songs of praise. As one reads through such Psalms as 89, one can only imagine what ancient prophets writings and knowledge is being used as the basis of the hymns of worship, adoration and praise. |

5 And the heavens shall praise thy wonders, O
LORD: thy faithfulness also in the acongregation of the

6 For who in the heaven can be compared unto the LORD? who among the sons of the mighty can be alikened unto the LORD?a   7 God is greatly to be feared in the assembly of the asaints, and to be had in reverence of all them that are about him. |
6a who among the sons of the mighty can be likened unto the LORD? While the most obvious answer is that there is none who is like unto him, two prevailing conventions do add aditional diminsion to this concept. FIRST: We are all called upon to follow him and take upon ourselves His very contenance and image, to become like unto Him and become one with Him and the Father. Thus one answer which penetrates the concept that none are like unto him is the fact that we all strive to be like unto him and the successful will indeed become like unto him. That is the whole of the Gospel Process of Exaltation to become even AS GOD IS. SECOND: Many throughout this earth's history have been likened unto him and been formed in the very similitude of the Lord, foreshadowing his life and mission in many aspects. Such was the life of Joseph who was sold into Egypt. His life as a temporaly parallel of physical salvation brought unto man foreshadowing the eternal salvation that the Lord Jesus Christ would effect. And their two lives have numerous parallels and likenesses. Moses was a similitude of the Lord also. Each of the Lord's prophets are a type and a similitude likeness of him. Melchizedek was even given to be his 'adoptive name' as one of the names of the LORD, the 'Prince of Peace'. Joshua or Jehoshua was not only such a similitude of the Lord, but the name that he shared with Jehovah was that very name that the Father had bestowed upon Him in the preexistence and the name by which he would be known here upon earth, JESUS in the Greek being the same name as Joshua or Jehoshua, meaning Jehovah is Salvation. Even King David, who by the faithfulness of his youth was a man after the Lord's own heart. David mean's 'beloved' and it is one of the names of our LORD. He is that KING DAVID, the BELOVED SON, who is to rule and reign during the Millennial era and thence forever as our Lord and God. |

9a Thou rulest the raging of the
sea Which Prophet's prophecy is lost
10a Thou hast broken Rahab in pieces Rahab as used here is a symbolic name meaning the monster of the deep or the sea and it correlates here with 'stilling' the raging waves of the sea. It is also the symbolic name of the nation of Egypt. This bridges the train of thought from having power over the oceans to having power over one's enemies, even Egypt. Further to be considered is that it is the Devil which is said to rage upon the waters as it was also the turned corrupted Egyptian kingdom of the Lord's enemies under the power of the Devil and all the Egyptian Satanic Gods thereof that the Lord prevailed against by the 10 plagues in delivering Israel out of Egypt. Thus the symbolism here is broard in its various illusions to having power over the realms and domains of the Devil. |

|
11a thou hast founded them When one understands that it was Jehovah who is Jesus Christ the Son of God who created and founded all things as empowered and directed by the Father, the one can begin to consider just what kind of God is ours. That this precept was known and paraphrased in the hymns of the Old Testament from some prophetic source now lost must also be considered and accepted. Long before the majestic words of the Apostle John in the beginning of his Gospel, it was known and understood by those who could and would search and study by the inspiration of the spirit that this God, the Son of God, who John identifies as the 'Word', was and is still the God and creator worlds without end, the very creator of heaven and earth. |

17a in thy favor our horn shall be exalted The concept of a person's 'HORN' is varied. Moses when he came down from the Mount radiated beams of glory. From his head, they appeared to be radiant lighted horns. Thus in the Hebrew language the concept of 'horn' is included to reference one's 'glory', 'radiance' and thus 'exalted state'. The Parallelism of verse 17 yields such a comparison of the 'glory of their strength' with one's 'horn' or 'radiance' being so 'exalted' and made brilliant. It is the condition of one who dwells and walks in the power of the Lord and the visual manifestation of such being set forth. |

|
19a thou spakest in vision
This is no earthly accounting of the earthly anointing of King David son of
Jesse, though many see no more in this than that. What this is is a prophetic
vision of that which occured in the preexistant heaven.
19b I have exalted one chosen out of the people The Father selected the one to be the Redeemer of this Second Estate. In the precouncils of heaven he asked, 'Whom shall I send.' and Jehovah, the Firstborn spirit Son of the Father replied, 'Here am I, send me.' He was chosen from among all the spirit children of the Father, our Elder Brother in this respect and Emmanual, God from among us in the respect that the Father did exalt Him and anoint him to be our Ministering God of this Second Estate to rule in the stead of the Father in all things concerning this Estate of Mortality which we were to pertain to and the Father had already advanced beyond. 20a with my holy oil have I anointed him As with much that is in the scriptures, there are two levels of understanding which may be read here. Many see but King David, son of Jesse being anointed by the Prophet Samuel. That is the mortal temporal level of perception. On the upper plain of heaven's inspired understanding, here is given an account of God the Father of Spirits having 'found' or 'chosen' His Firstborn Beloved Son, David by that name, to be His Servant of the Salvation of mankind. The Father in the preexistant realm did anoint the Son with His Holy Oil, placing upon him the overseership of the whole of the second estate of man from its creaton to its final judgement. 22a nor the son of wickedness afflict him The only one who has prevailed in mortality without sin and thus above the power of Satan, the son of wickedness, is Jesus Christ. King David on the other hand sinned and was sore afflicted. Thus the only David possibly spoken of here is the Beloved Son of the Father, that David which will reign in the Millennium, our Priest, our King. |

26a Thou art my father, my God, and the rock of my salvation Just as we are to look to Jehovah, Jesus Christ, as the rock of our salvation, so does Jesus look to the Father to be his God and the rock of His salvation upon which he may build. Jesus even quotes from Psalms 110 the fact that He, the Lord, had a Lord, His Father, above him. (See Ps. 110:1... and compare with Mark 12:36..., Luke 20:42... and Acts 2:34...) Here it is seen that the relationship between the Father and the Son was known and understood by them of Old in the time of King David as well as at the time of Christ. For Christ used it as argument that there was a higher LORD of that of David's Lord which was Jehovah, a Father and a Son. And Jesus and his Apostles used it to set forth that there was to be a Son of God, which some of the Jews sects did at that time dispute and which for the most part, the common Jewish belief is still of that mind today, that there is not to be a Son of God who is to come to earth. |

Yet there is another perspective to be considered. According to numerous scriptures, traditions and lines of reasoning, Jesus the Son of David, the son of Jesse, the son of Obed the surrogate son of Boaz, is not legally nor rightfully according to the Law of God of the house of Judah. Boaz, a cousin kinsman of Elimelech, performed according to the Law of Moses (Deuteronomy 25:5-10) and did give the first male born of Ruth as the seed of the house of Mahlon, Elimelech and Naomi. That is, Obed is legally and rightfully the heir of his Ephrathite descent in the same sense that Nun, Joshua, Jereboam and others were Ephrathites meaning Ephraimites. It is the Jewish compilations, editings, perspectives and the traditional Christian adoption of them which persist in not recognizing Jesus to be not the legal descendant of Boaz but the legal and rightful heir of the house of Elimelech, Ephraimites by ancestry. (See Messiah ben David ~ Messiah ben Joseph). |

35a I will not lie unto David On the higher level of understanding for the consistancy of this Psalm being Messianic throughout, this is the Father who has covenanted with Jehovah also named the Beloved or David. And he states that He will not lie unto 'DAVID', the Messiah. He will keep his covenant that through the atonement mankind might be saved. 36a his throne as the sun before me It is NOT King David's throne, the son of Jesse being spoken of. For David did fail before God. The consistance which does prevail in this Messianic Psalm is that it is Jesus Christ's throne, that DAVID's throne, which as the sun with its 'sundog' rainbow round about that will ever be before the Father. |
