The following is the will of John Bath of Egloskerry
as transcribed from such record by his 5th Great Nephew
Don R. Hender.

Will Dated: 14 September 1781
Secial Note: In John Bath's Will, He uses the term 'Couzin'
to refer to his nieces and nephews.
In the Name of God Amen. I John
Bath of the Parish of Egloskerry
in the County of Cornwall do make and declare this my last Will
and Testament to be as follows Principally I recommend my Soul
into the Hands of Almighty God and my Body to Christain Burial in
a desent manner in a Grave to be wall'd in and Cover'd over with
Stones or Oak Boards And it is my Desire to lye Forty eight
Hours in my Coffin before my Interment and to have a Stone placed
and fixed where I shall be Buried as a Memorandum of me
Imprimis I give and bequeath unto my Couzin John Sandercock my Silver
Watch and my Razors and Hone
Also I give unto my cousin William
Adams one of my Canes and my Silver Clasps Shoe and Knee
Buckles and by Hanger.
Also I give unto my Couzin Thomas
Rundle the other of my Canes
Also I give and Bequeathe unto my Sister
Sarah Adams all my Linnen and Woollen Apparel Shoes Hats and
Wiggs my Close Stool and Oak Chest.
Also I give and bequeathe
unto my Couzins John Sandercock
and William Adams all my
Messuage and Tenement with the Appurtenances in Badharlick upon Special
Trust and Confidence nevertheless that they permit and suffer my
two Sisters Honour Courtis
and Sarah Adams and their
Assigns to receive and take the Rents and profits thereof equally between
them during all my Right and Interest therein. And if my said
Sister Honour Courtis shall
happen to Die before my said Sister Sarah
Adams
Then and in such Cause I give and bequeathe unto my
Sister Sarah Adams
the Sum of Twenty Pounds Starling to be paid
her by my Executors hear in after named within Six months after
her the said Honour Courtis's
Decease,
and it is my Will and
Desire that the Husbands or Husband of my said Sisters Honour and
Sarah or either
of them, shall not Intermeddle or be any wise
concerned with what is herein before given to either of them but
the same shall be to the Sole and Separate uses of my said
Sisters Honour and
Sarah
respectively.
Also I give and Bequeathe
unto my Couzin Christian
Adams Thirty Pounds Sterling to be
paid by my Executors within one Year after my Death to her Father
or mother towards her Support and Maintainance.
Also I give to
the said Thomas Rundle
John Saundercock
and Honour Davison Twenty
Pounds to each of them to be paid by my Executors at the end of
one year after my Decease.
Also I give unto my Sister Joan
Scawn Ten pounds to be paid her at the end of one year next
after my Decease and I give unto my said sister Scawn my large Bible my
three Volumes by Docter Sherlocke and my Fourteen Volumes of the
London magazines and my Looking Glass Table Board and Deal Box in
her House at Stratton
Also I give unto my Couzin William
Cock the Sum of Twenty Pounds Sterling and to my Brother in Law
John Adams one Guinea
in Gold to be paid within six months after my Decease
Also I give unto my Brothers in Law William
Courtis and Thomas
Rundle two Shillings to each of them and likewise two
Shillings to my Sister Mary
to Buy Gloves
Also I give and
Bequeath unto my two Couzins Sarah
Hender and Honour
Ham to each of them One Guinea in Gold All the rest and
residue of my Goods and Chattles Rights and Credits and Personal Estate
whatsoever and wheresoever
I do hereby give and Bequeath unto my
Couzins William Adams and
William Sandercock equally
between them after all my aforesaid Legacys shall
be fully paid and Discharged and likewise paying and Satisfying my Brother in
Law John Adams for
his trouble and Expences on my account and I do
hereby make and appoint the said William
Adams and William
Sandercock whole and Sole Executors of this my last Will and
Testament In Witness whereof I have hereunto set my Hand and Seal
this Sixth day of April In the Year of our Lord Christ One
Thousand Seven Hundred and Eighty one, 1781.

The before Written Will of the before named John Bath Deced is a
True Copy Compared and Examined with the Original this Eighteenth
Day of September 1781.

The before Written Will of the before named John Bath Deced was
Proved in Common form 14th September 1781 before the Revd Mr.
John Fisher Clerk Bachelor of Arts Surrogate etc. and Admion of
the Goods etc of the said Deced and of all things.
The following pedigree is developed from the will of John Bath, above. In that will he
names various siblings and 'brother-in-laws' and various other relatives whom he simply
refers to as 'couzins', which appears to been applied to his nephews and neices whom he
included in his will. Also, the further family relations are supplemented and confirmed
by various OPC Parish Database transcriptions of the parishes of Cornwall as will be
further give below (baptisms, marriages, ete.):
