NICHOLAS MOON WILL

Will Dated: 1 May 1849 (written-4 May 1848)

This is the last Will and Testament of me Nicholas Moon of Treheer in the Parish of Liskeard in the County of Cornwall Gentleman I direct all my just debts burial and testamentary expences to be paid as soon as conveniently may be after my decease

I give and bequeath unto my Nephew James Snell my Gold watch chain and seals

I give and bequeath the following sums to the persons hereinafter mentioned that is to say to my Brother Edward Moon the sum of One hunderd pounds to my Sister Mary Ann Snell the sum of One hundred and fifty pounds to by two Nephews William Snell and James Snell the sum of One hundred pounds each

To my four Nieces Susan RabySusan Raby, Charlotte Raby, Jane Raby and Fanny Raby and to my Nephew George Raby daughters and Son of George Raby of Kever all in the parish of Saint Martins the sum of Five pounds each

To my three nieces Susan Trout, Jane Trout and Mary Wife of Mr. Hender of East Looe daughters of Philip Trout the sum of Five pounds each

I give devise and bequeath unto my Brother Cornelius Moon his heirs executors administrators and assigns All the rest residue and remainder of my real and personal estate of what nature soever and wheresoever and I devise and bequeath unto him my said Brother Cornelius Moon his heirs executors and administrators all estates lands tenements and hereditaments vested in me by way of Mortgage or as a Trustee and I hereby appoint him my said Brother Cornelius Moon sole Executor of this my Will and I do hereby expressly revoke all former Wills and codicils by me at any time made and do declare this to be my last Will and Testament In "Witness whereof I the said Nicholas Moon the Testator have to this last Will and Testament subscribed and set my hand and seal this twenty fourth day of May one thousand eight hundred and forty eight

Signed sealed and published and declared by the above named Nicholas Moon the Teatator as and for his last Will and Testament in the presence of us present at the same time who at his request have hereunto signed our names as witnesses thereto in the presence of each other and in the presence of the Teastator Nicholas Moon

Court of Cornwall ) parish of Liskeard Gentleman deceased

Appeared personally Christopher Childs of the Borough of Liskeard in the County of Cornwall Gentleman and made oath that he is one of the subscribed witnesses to the last Will and Testament of Nicholas Moon late of the said parish of Liskeard Gentleman deceased now hereunto annexed beginning thus This is the last Will and Testament of me Nicholas Moon of Treheere in the parish of Liskeard in the County of Cornwall Gentleman ending thus In Witness whereof I the said Nicholas Moon the Testator have to this my last Will and Testament subscribed and set my hand and seal this twenty fourth day of May one thousand eight hundred and forty eight and thus subscribed Nichs. Moon (LS) And that this Deponent and John Cork Lord the other other subscribed witness to the same Will were present at the same Will when the said deceased on the twenty fourth day of May 1848 wrote and subscribed his name to the said Will and this Deponent and the said John Cork Lord subscribed their names thereto in the presence of the said Testator and of each other as witnesses thereof And this denouces further saith that having now carefully viewed and inspected the said Will and observed the words fourth and May written on erasure on the last line of the second side of the Will saith that such erasures and words written thereon were respectively made and inserted previous to the execution of the said Will by the said deceased-

On the twenty eighth day of April 1849 the said Christopher Childs was duly sworn to the truth of this Affidavit at Liskeard in the said County

Before me Augustus Bazeley a Master Extraordinary in Chaucery Proved in Common form the 1st day of May 1849 before John Wallis A M Official etc. And Admion of all and singular the Goods etc of the said deceased and any way concerning the said Will was granted to Cornelius Moon the brother of the said Deced & sole Executor named in the said Will.
