200 YEARS OF TROUT ANCESTORY
I currently look to my 8th Great Grandfather as being Thomas Trout who married Grace Stevens on the 24th of July 1664 as recorded in the Scilly Island Parish record. They appear to have had one known child as follows:
I look to my 7th Great Grandfather as being Thomas Trout Who married Grace Wilshman on the 17th of June, 1690 as recorded in the Scilly Island Parish record. They appear to have had eleven known children as follows:
I look to my 6th Great Grandfather as being Samuel Trout Who married Mary Pine on the 9th of August, 1739 as recorded in the Scilly Island Parish record. His will was written in May, 1761 and proven in June, 1761 so his death was in 1761. If Samuel isn't my 6th Great Grandfather, then his brother Philip Trout would appear to be. This couple appears to have had five known children as follows:
Philip Trout and Susanna Edey
My alternative 6th Great Grandparent would be Philip Trout the brother of Samuel Trout. He was christened on the 6th October, 1696. He married Susanna Edey on the 13th May, 1724 according to the Scilly Island Parish record. She's most likely the Susanna Trout who was buried 26 April 1746 as displayed to the right right. They had two known children as follows:

I look to my 5th Great Grandfather as being Thomas Trout who married Mary Sanders on the 20th of November, 1764 as recorded in the Scilly Island Parish record. He is either the son of Samuel Trout as listed above or that of Samuel's brother Philip Trout listed above as an 'alternative'. This couple of Thomas Trout and Mary Sanders appear to have had two known children as follows:

Like his father before him, this Philip Trout died at age 89 on the 15th November, 1879 and his wife Susannah/Susan/Susanna Moon also died long before him at age 42 on the 21st of May, 1839. Some coincidence huh? As to their number of known children, either there was only four and Jane and Mary Ann are not twins or their where five with the first Jane dying an infant death and Jane Ann and Marianna are twins. The census records are not consistent. In 1841 Jane is listed at age 15 which would make her a twin and in 1851 she is listed at age 27 which would support the notion that she was christened twice, once Wesleyan and once Church of England. Personally, due to how the membership in any other church was frowned upon in England, I'd guess that there is only one Jane, not a twin, and that the difference in census records is explained by covering up the Wesleyan christening with the Church of England one on the 1841 census. But who knows?
However the 1881 and 1891 Census records show Jane Ann Trout living in Talland with Petherick Higman and her sister Susan Moon Higman nee Trout and they both list her as unmarried/single. So this is the Jane Ann Trout and father Philip Trout at age 89 in 1879 must have moved to live with them as well and is why they all ended up at Hendersick, Talland. And Jane Ann Trout's ages of 59 in 1881 and 69 in 1891 just about seals the deal that she is the same Jane Ann Trout who was baptized twice, once as non-conformist and once as Church of England—all bases covered there I guess.
There seems to be some events of interest concerning the baptism records of this family.
Therefore I will present them here to view and discuss them from that perspectie of what
I know or may think regarding them. The first there are of a Susanna Trout whose baptism
is recorded 20 July 1820. And there are three such records to view and consider. I will
put them in order as they make sense to me.

Now, whatever the cause of all the explanations written out on the 8th of July 1820, there is but one baptism for Susanna Moon Trout on the 5th of July 1820 and one other baptism for another Susanna Trout (the daughter of Thomas and Johanna of London). And dispite the 'confussion' which the written explanations may cause, the bottom line is that they also give a birth date (11 January 1790) for Philip Trout, Susanna Moon Trout's father and Susanna Moon's husband, who was born at Helberton, Devon [per the census records], and then by the 14th of March was back down to East Looe in order to be privately baptized at Looe, the likely actual residence of his family. From these 'extracted' and 'transcribed' reports taken from the parish registers, it is hard to say exactly how they did appear there. Certainly the 'forms format' of their reporting here below does not do the information justice except and unless you know the whole background and history of the family that relates to it. And that I believe I know and understand. | ||
