              CHAPTER 1

The Son is in the express image of the person of the Father—Christ is the Only Begotten Son and thus above the angels.

God and the Godhead is where Paul begins. He teaches the relationship of the Father and the Son. He explains how the Son is the appointed Creator, our Mediating Lord and Redeemer.
  1 God, who aat sundry times and in divers mannersa spake in time past unto the bfathers by the cprophets,
  2 Hath in these last days spoken unto us by his aSon, whom he hath bappointed cheir of all things, by whom also he dmade the eworldsa;

Creator, Who?
The question is asked, 'Who created the heavens and the earth, the Father or the Son?' To which a single answer is 'YES!' As set out by the First Presidency and the Apostles in 1906, "Elohim is the Father in every sense in which Jesus Christ is so designated, and distinctively He is the Father of spirits." (The Father and the Son: A Doctrinal Exposition by the First Presidency and the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles). It is as if one asks who makes a movie, the director or the producer? They both have a part in the making of the product. The Father directed and under the Father's direction the Son created. They both are correctly identified as Creator, the Father of Heaven and Earth. It is only with a correct knowledge of the Godhead that these things are to be fully understood.
 1a divers manners God has always spoken to his servants the prophets. The diverse manners can be briefly stated by a few examples. Some he sent messengers and angels to visit. Others heard only the voice of the Lord. Some saw firery images such as the burning bush and pilars of fire as they also heard his voice. And still others, where their faith was sufficent, he did speak face to face as one man speaketh to another.
 2a spoken unto us by his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds Paul understood well the nature of God and the relationship between the Father and the Son. Here he points out that Jesus Christ the Son was made heir of all things by the Father, Jesus or Jehovah being the Firstborn in the spirit and the Only Begotten in the flesh by God the Father. Thus in terms of this second estate he is the Only Begotten Son and heir we have to look to who is the way and heir of the Father's kingdom. Further Paul also so states that is was by the Son that the worlds, plural, were made, which is also the same testimony which John bore of him, that without him there was nothing made that was made (John 1:1-4).

Worlds Without Number
Here is Hebrews is confirmation of what was revealed to and stated by Moses as recorded in Moses 1:33 and visa-versa. As directed by the Father, the Son of God, Jehovah, created the 'worlds' and they are without number unto man but the Lord knows the number of them. John also in his Gospel sets out that it was Jesus Christ, the 'Word' who created the heavens and the earth (John 1:1-3).
  3 Who being the brightness of his aglory, and the express image of his bperson, and upholding all things by the word of his cpowera, when he had by himself dpurged our sins, sat down on the eright hand of the fMajesty on high;
  4 Being made so much better than the angels, as he hath by inheritance obtained a more excellent anamea than they.
  5 For unto which of the angels said he at any time, Thou art my aSon, this day have I begotten thee? And again, I will be to him a bFather, and he shall be to me a Son?
 3a the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power Here Paul gives the reason by which Jesus did state that if you had seen him you had seen the Father, and that is because Jesus as the Only Begotten Son of God the Father in the Flesh was in the 'express image' of the Father. They look alike, the Son mirrored the Father in his earthly appearance and form. It also sets forth that God the Father is his own 'person'. And it also clarifies that Jesus' performs his word by the power he had been given of the Father.
 4aBeing made much better than the angels, as he hath by inheritance obtained a more excellent name Perhaps this ought to read 'better than the other angels, for we were all the spirit children of God the Father of Spirits, Jesus Christ being the Firstborn and heir. And other scripture may be given wherein Chirst is stated as an 'angel' of God. After all he is 'God among us' or 'from among us', Emmanuel. And being the Firstborn, he was the rightful heir to his Father's Kingdom and also he who had responsibility unto us his younger sibblings in the Spirit. Now that more excellent name which he received is the name of Jesus Christ, which was given to him of his Father in the preexistence as per its meaning and by his selection, that 'Jehovah Deliver' or 'Jehovah Redeemer' meaning that it is only through and by Jehovah that all are saved unto salvation and exaltation, even unto immortality; and there is no other name given by which men may be saved.

Ministering Spirits
All are spirits whether embodied or disembodied. And spirits have been called upon to minister unto this earth both prior to and after this mortality. The prime example of a ministering spirit prior to its earthly existence is Jehovah himself, who did minister unto man and was seen by the brother of Jared that his spirit was in that same form of which the mortal tabernacle is formed. Spirits who once lived upon the earth have also come back to minister unto men. Some of these are known to have been resurrected beings and other such as John, as translated beings, while others are understood to still be but spirit not having yet been resurrected. These administrations of ministering spirits, of the 'angels of God, have been for various purposes ranging from the very personal single family related administrations to those which effect the whole of the kingdom and church of God.
 13a to which of the angels said he We all stood once in the presence of God our Father of our spirits. Our eldest brother was Jehovah who is the same as Jesus Christ. That the spirits of heaven are called as being 'angels' of God is quite understandable. Even Jehovah, the eldest Son was and could be so designated an angel of the Father. Psalms 110 records that THE LORD said unto David's Lord that which verse 13 refers to. What scriptural verse of inspiration of understanding David spoke from is lost in the Jewish text, but it is evident that the knowledge and understanding of the relationship between the Father and Son was once quite well to be understood. Jesus so references the Psalm in testimony to himself as recorded in Mark 12:36-37 and Luke 20:42-44. It is also repeated in the Acts of the Apostles 2:34-36. And so does Paul record it here in Hebrews chapter 1 verse 13. What has lost such pure and simple knowledge is the corruption of the Jews and the apostasy of the reminants of the early church which survive the pursecutions.  13a Ps. 110:1

  [15 For this is His work and His glory, to bring to pass the immortality and eternal life of man.
  16 And thus all who are anointed and appointed to minister therein do but minister unto the children of the Father who are the heirs of His salvation.
  17 Even the Son was made to be the Servant of all mankind in this great work, for it is He who provided man with the atonement and resurrection, openning the way through the veil into the Kingdom of God.]
At Times
At times one wishes that various scriptural renditions would continue on as it almost seemingly needs to so do as one becomes familiar with scriptural word and in understanding. Such is tha case with Hebrews chapter one. So much relates to other scriptural knowledge that this feeble attempt of what is desired for to be continued is here listed.
